It's our goal to showcase local talents, while bringing the Westside a range of eclectic music to Dakota Lounge in Los Angeles. Have fun with Salsa Night and salsa lessons on the last Thursday of every month. We have DJ Doughboy spinning all the hot mixes on Saturday night!! For a list of other events check out the website! We hosted Josh Duhamel and Fergie's bachelor and bachelorette party here. We've had amazing performances by Trevor Hall, Janelle Monae and Shooter Jennings. We can host any special event, big or small, from birthday parties to red carpet events. Executive Chef Dave Hutcheon brings a creative and experimentally delicious way to enjoy your food! We have wonderful tapas, along with a full food, bar and wine menu. Bottle service starts at $200 a table. Be sure to check out Dakota Lounge's website for a calendar of events.

Don't worry, music lovers. Underground acts and artists who stray from the mainstream still grace the stage of this red-lit lounge. Only now, they're doing it in a slightly more grown-up space thanks to owners (and happy couple) Alex Fieglein and Sabrina Roark. Black walls and glass panels frosted with swirly logos give way to two connected rooms, one where afro'd scenesters and dread heads catch live performances, the other where sport coat-wearing Westsiders and retro rockers sip wine (often poured by the owners themselves) on chocolate-hued armchairs and recycled bamboo tables. Much like the crowd itself, the late-night menu is a colorful mix, featuring upscale grub ranging from tuna tartare and New York steak to mac and cheese with bacon. Aside from the live music and neighborhoody vibe, the Friday night parties reel in crowds that want to break a sweat on the remodeled dancefloor.

TRUE STORY Dateline 8:15:09
An Attorney, Record and Film Producer and a CPA arrive at the Dakota Lounge, 1026 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica, CA. 90401, for their birthday party and to support and celebrate the birthday and performance of their friend Malcolm Jamal-Warner. Rae seats them and tells them, since they are expecting another 5 to 10 people that this is their table for the night.

When the guests attempt to close their 1st tab, and other members of their party begin to arrive, Sabrina comes over and asks how was everything. When she was told the truth, the trouble started. Truth is.

They ordered: AHI Tuna Entree' and was served Crispy Salmon that was soft and gooey (refused to correct the order)
Steak Entree' well, well, well done. Was served about 2 ounces of steak w/2 onion rings and the steak was medium rare
Ordered Grand Marnier Straight, it was cut with water or another cheaper alcohol
Ordered two Coronas was served two Peroni Beers
Ordered Coffee, They Had None
Ordered Tea, They had none, So they brought two cups of hot water with a lemon garnish and charged them for Tea
Waitress was rude obnoxious, disrespectful and lacked all the skills that should qualify her for a position of service
Ordered sweet potatoe fries and they were ok

They graciously paid their 100+ tab in cash and prepared to enjoy the rest of their Birthday Celebration. When their other guests began to arrive & joined them at the table, the guests asked for menus from the waitress. Instead of bringing menus the waitress brought 2 big security guards and started a verbal altercation with the additional guests. All the guests were verbally abused by security guards and the owner Sabrina and the rude waitress. As even more guests were arriving for the party, they forcefully removed them all from the table that Rae had originally reserved for them. The Dakota staff continued to verbally escalate the conflict and finally ejected the party from the club. Alex the owner said he was being threatened by one of the guests looking him in the eye with an "EVIL EYE". Further they had to leave a credit card before they could order, and even after they had paid their tab, it took well over an hour to get the credit card back.

Funny thing is, they were the only guests that were ordering real food. none of the other tables in the immediate area had any food orders other than french fries. Why did the Dakota lounge and it's staff Sabrina, Rae, Ben. Heather and Alex, toss out a table of music industry professionals that came to spend money and celebrate life. Enquiring minds would like to know.

Pros: they had restrooms

Cons: the restrooms were nasty, ill smelling no paper and more
