I've lived in austin all my life and been to many different salons.... I decided to get my hair sewn in and didn't know where to go. I had a few friends tell me to go to so and so but since I'm so particular about my hair I wanted quality not a cheap job done....

I googled and ran up on the hair clinic.... the salon had great reviews so I made an appt. I went to Shari 9/26/09 and had a great experience. She was very knowledgeable about hair. Different textures, different products to use for different hair types. Overall, the salon was a great environment to be in, very elegant and classy.... None of that trash talk to hear in other salons... I just really had a great experience. I've found a hair salon and I will be going on the regular. Now my mom and daughter wants their hair sewn in so looks like I'll be making a couple of more appts soon. I sugguest this salon to anyone who is looking for a nice elegant, classy place to go....People of color can have nice things too.... :-)

The staff is very professional and knowledgeable. My beautician Shari was very friendly and included me in her conversations.
My Experience:
I moved from Virginia and was looking for a hairstylist. Before moving down to Texas I had the same beautician for six years. I learnt about The Hair Clinic from previous reviews. When I came in for my consultation with Shari she looked over me hair and scalp and I could really tell that she cared about my hair. Shari answered all my questions, and I set up and appointment. I got my hair done on September 9 she was quick and efficient. I LOVE MY HAIR!!!! My hair looks and feels healthy Shari has a client for life.

Pros: The whole experience.

Cons: I can't think of one.

When I came to Austin in 2001 for college at UT, I was having the hardest time finding a good hair stylist. My sister in law was doing my hair in Dallas before moving here and she always had high standards and expectations and I was hoping to find someone with the same standards here. After trying numerous stylists, I found Shari thru her website she used to have and decided to give her a try. That was back in 2004 or 2005 I think???? (She was still in Beauty School that's how long she has done my hair) and I have been with her since. She knows my hair and always gives me pointers when I have questions about my hair. (My hair can be a pain sometimes because it is so thick) I must admit, I have cheated on her a couple of times because she is BOOKED up when I don't make my appointment in time, I go to Ms. Ana as my backup who also knows my hair as well. (She works there of course!!) The atmosphere is great, the stylists are very friendly and professional, and you will be in and out in a flash. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a DRAMA free environment and professional service with each and every visit.

I recently moved to Austin about one month ago, and had been having the hardest time finding a decent salon that did natural hair, natural straightening and braiding. After calling every place under the sun I could find online, checking out a couple of places for a week or two, I finally was recommended to this salon, the Hair Clinic, just a few blocks from my own home. And I have been completely satisfied so far! Mrs. Rita is a very friendly and knowledgeable stylist, that even helps me with my psoriasis concerns. The prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is very relaxed but professional, with a Southern feel that I appreciate being originally from Georgia. I'd highly recommend this salon to anyone, whatever your ethnicity. You won't be disappointed.

I used to not ever get my hair done until I met Shari! She had been doing numerous members of my sorority for years, and then I finally decided to try her out! The way my hair looks after I leave Shari's chair is unreal! Aside from the shop's owner being humble and sweet, the other stylists are very knowledgeable and friendly too! These stylists truly excel at their craft. They are constantly learning about hair care and attending seminars to further perfect their craft and ensure that they are providing the best hair care service possible. As if wonderful stylists aren't enough, the salon is very trendy and chic, with a stylish vibe and vibrant atmosphere! Whether you want a glamorous sew-in or basic wrap, The Hair Clinic is sure to go above and beyond your expectations!

I was almost done, but I had to add that if you want gossip, mess, and drama at a salon, this is NOT the place to go! This is a very professional and classy shop, which is one of the main reasons I love it!

Cons: There isn't one in Dallas! Shari needs to move! :)

This salon offers a variety of hair care and each stylist here has there on style and specialties. Shari has been doing my sew in's for over two years now and she is great at what she does. Now that I have cut my hair really short, Annie now styles and maintains my hair. Annie is very creative and not afraid to step outside of her boundaries. Not to mention she gives great consultation to guide you along with your hair decisions. Overall the salon is the perfect fit for any girls needs.

Annie explained how she was going to cut my hair and what it would look like when she was done and it looked exactly like that. The back of my head was very uneven due to me wearing a ponytail for a long time and she evened up the back and gave me body and life back to my hair. She was very gentle and very professional. I just moved to Austin from California and was worried about finding a good stylist. I had the one in California for over 10 years and it took me years to find her. I read reviews on citysearch and that is how I found Annie.

After over 12 years of being loyal to the same hairdresser, I needed a change. My hair was in terrible shape and I needed a big change. I needed someone to not only care properly for my hair, but also someone to educate me on how I could keep my hair healthy. Shari took the time to identify my hair problems and instruct me on what I needed to do to get my hair healthy again. The place was beautiful and everyone was real friendly.

If you have natural hair and like to wear it "simple", Annie Cokley is amazing. I'm a young professional who likes to get a blowdry weekly to maintain my work look easily and she gets it done. In usually less than two hours, Annie will have your hair looking silky with body. Definitely someone you want to have a regular appointment with.

If you are looking for a real nice atmosphere and true hair care.. This is the salon for you!!! Annie is the one who did my hair. She welcomed me and we connected right off, she told me the truth about what i needed for my hair, and what was right..not just after my money, but after the true beauty that we women have!!! Annie brought that out!!! The before was ashame, and the after was beautiful... A true salon! I am the one to tell the truth, this is the spot...... GO! You will love it!

I really enjoy the atmosphere at the salon. Very professional but very inviting. Shari my stylist has my hair growing and looking very healthy. She doesn't use a lot a products on my hair, leaving it flowing and light weight. She has made me into a sew-in believer. I love my sew-ins I left my last one into for 3 months. I drive an hour out of town just to get my hair done by Shari.

I came across the Hair Clinic while walking down Guadalupe and I had the pleasure of working with Shari who has been doing my sew ins/extensions for months now and every experience is perfect. I believe in the quality of her work so much that I have referred 3 of my friends who have all been extremely satisfied with her work. The entire staff is friendly and willing to assist clients in any way. Very professional and relaxed environment

My stylist is Shari and she caters to my hair individually for what it needs; it's not just the same routine with everyone like you'd typically get in a salon! She provides wonderful service, I wouldn't dare go any place else!! :)

The Hair Clinic-Salon & Beauty Supply Store is by far the best salon ever!!! Each stylist treats you like a goddess and they take such good care of your hair. I am very pleased and I recommend anybody and everybody to this salon. They specialize in all hairtypes and textures and will give your the nourishment and shine that your hair needs and wants without making it oily or greasy. They do beautiful extentions/sew Ins, haircuts, relaxers, great colors, and i just love their natural hair care styles(dread locks braids and cornrows)
This salon really has it going on and popping and you should be apart of the excitement too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shari Richards has been my stylist for a little over a year and I'm so happy I finally found her. The Hair Clinic is always on the cutting edge of the latest trends. Shari is a very sweet person and an excellent stylist. I trust her 100% with my hair. Most times, I get a full sew-in or a shampoo and style, either way I ALWAYS love it. I can't count the numerous compliments I've received. But most of all, Shari takes the time to listen to my concerns about my hair and address any problems. All of the stylists at The Hair Clinic are amazing and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I can't say enough about .... It's simply WONERDERFUL.

I've been going to Annie for almost a year now. She does a great job at maintaining my short cut. I get many compliments on my haircut and the healthy look of my hair, which is all thanks to Annie.

I love the location of the salon, its upscale atmosphere, the professional staff and reasonable prices.
