When will I ever learn? If ANY of the reviews include the word "Dingy," move on.
Stupidly, I didn't listen to my intuition about this one. II was drawn to the location. So I called their reservations dept and I practically begged the representative to put me in the best rooms they have. She said she had just the thing. The Garden Suites were "completely remodeled" just two years ago.
Well, it turns out that "remodeled" means that someone went to Crate and Barrel and bought a nifty sink table with a marble top to install in the bathroom. Bravo. They also replaced the old shower rod with a curved one. Wahoo!
This place was built a LONG time ago. And since then, it has apparently been operated by private owners who refuse to invest in improvements. Seriously. This place is NASTY!
Specific complaints:
- The spider in the web outside our room eats birds.
- The room smells rancid and biological.
- Multiple sets of sex stains on the sofa.
- Uncomfortable, ancient, dirty mattresses.
- Bugs everywhere.
- Small things that bite.
- The previous occupant left half-eaten food in the fridge and it was still there when we arrived.
- Old.
- A mentally limited man played guitar and sang bad country songs outside our room until late one night.
- One of our neighbors used a 14 inch BBQ grill (the kind you buy at 7-11) to feed his family every night of their stay.
- Our room was over $200/night (which seemed reasonable before we saw the place).
- The carpet in the room is 30-year-old, super cheap, super thin, outdoor-grade.
- We all had itchy rashes when we left.
Take your chances somewhere else.

From the seals in the pond out front to the private beach front patio, this was by far the best romantic weekend get-a-way my husband & I have ever had. Accommodations, food, service were all wonderful. If you're bringing the family, Sea world and a host of other San Diego attractions are just a short drive away.

Bahia Resort Hotel has quiet bungalows that are a great way to stay there. Unfortunately you are stuck with the two restaurants that are on the property unless you get in your car.

We have attended several events at this hotel and it is great. The price is fairly reasonable for their catering, and the view from the meeting and banquet rooms is a great view of the bay. Parking is somewhat hard...it looks like they have a large parking lot, but our guests had to park in the lot down the street as the close lot was full for some reason.

We used this hotel for a meeting. We used their catering services also. The hotel is sitting at a bay area, which provides a beautiful view. The prices are very reasonable and their food is great. The meeting was a sucess.
