Following a significant refurbishment and expansion, La Pietra Cucina, our four star-rated gem, has reopened and is better than ever! Bruce Logue continues to inspire with his ingredient-driven, progressive Italian cuisine. La Pietra Cucina's welcoming ambiance, designed by Charleston interior designer Cameron Stewart, perfectly compliments the superb culinary offering. The service is professional and friendly, adding to an overall experience that is a true feast for the senses. We have a full bar with Italian themed specialty cocktails and a wine list that showcases some of Italy's best, even previously undiscovered grape varieties, all at an affordable price. From quick Panini lunches at the bar to dinners in the restaurant or on the piazza, La Pietra Cucina offers something for every palate. La Pietra Cucina's doors are open for lunch and dinner, Monday through Saturday.

In Short
Awaiting a face-lift in 2009, the 45-seat dining room is a tiny make-shift job, lodged the corner of the former MidCity space. Without the full digs in place, Bruce Logue's pedigree (Panos and Pauls, Mario Batali's Babbo in NY) and charismatic Italian menu put La Pietra Cucina on the must-try map. Much of the menu is one part amusing, one part delicious. Black spaghetti is died with squid ink, tossed with calabreses sausage and rock shrimp; a spot-on southwestern shift in the Italian staple. The perfectly-cooked duck confit risotto is touched with smoothly sweet figs, topped with a balsamic drizzle and might be the best the city has to offer. With a patio perfect for spring and expansion on the horizon, this already-primo reservation should make it one of next year's great restaurants.

Key Points

  • Conviently located in Midtown
  • Wonderful Outdoor Patio
  • Atlanta's Best Date Spot

La Pietra is a great lunch spot when you are seeking a place that offers more than the standard lunch fare. I have tried several of the pasta dishes and they have all been good, however my perennial favorite is the slice & salad combo. The art in the space is exquisite!
