Fuji Hibachi Sushi & Steak House is A MUST!

by charlene b.

Don't let the location stop you from going to this incredibly excellent restaurant. The decor, the service and the food are superb. We keep thinking about the preparation of the food and the food itself and want to go back everyday! Don't let this restaurant close up due to not stopping because the parking lot is empty - check it out and pass the word to everyone!

the best in ever catagory.

by chimeicc

I took my family there for a birthday. The manager greeted us and gave us all 15% off even though it was after happy hour! Kids eat for $5! the food is better and it costs less!!!! the staff cooking in front of us were amazing. Justin was hilarious and did great tricks, many more then benihana. Ping was teach the table over to do sake bombs for a birthday! Everyone said hello to my 2 year old son and he was giggling and smiling the whole time. This places is all around much better then any restaurant I have ever been too the staff were personable, well trained, funny, smiling, and made us feel like family. The food was high quality and well cooked. The place was very clean. The drinks were awesome. I can't say enough good things about this place. I would recommend this to any body and everybody. Tell them May sent you!

Pros: funny kind well trained staff, clean, the best food,

Cons: none!

My Favorite Sushi

by callitout

Very little alterations made to the external presentation of from when it was an OCB. We were curious and went in, it is lovely inside. Immediately the management sought to make our experience the best possible. Initially I was a little confused by being asked for an alcohol order upon entry, though I think because it was a very quiet Wednesday night he was also acting bartender and sought to expedite our order.

We sat in the Sushi bar and there was hesitation that my husband could still order hibachi there, I was more comfortable with the presentation from afar. The standard ?sushi? was ridiculously cheap and the best I have ever had. The ?philly? sushi roll was delicious had amazing smoked salmon that was different to the salmon in the California roll and the sesame seeds were very tasty.

Upon tasting our food we started planning who we would take here. It is sad that more people haven?t discovered this place. The blinds are kept closed to maintain the fantastic intimate atmosphere but that keeps the outside from seeing in! Perhaps if the blinds were updated to some wide wooden ones, some detail colors on the external paintwork or stylized plants in the garden would help. Regardless step inside and share this Shoreline gem with us!

Pros: Thoughtfull management and staff

Cons: OCB stigma not quite removed from outside, but step in!

Worth checking out-good place

by Mobean62

My parents live in Shoreline and we were trying to find a place to celebrate mine and my dad's birthdays (we are a day apart) and I wanted to have steak. My dad suggested Fuji and all I could think of was the horrible OCB that had been there for years, but after I read the reviews on here, I decided to try it out.

Good choice! The food was really great and Hibachi style cooking is perfect for my mom who is particular about how her food is cooked, since you can see them cooking right in front of you. They have a lot of fun surprises up their sleeves, the manager/owner? is really personable, and they had a surprise for the birthdays. This reminds me of one of my favorite restaurants in my college town and I always leave feeling full!

Pros: Yummy food, fun atmosphere-entertaining, great service

Definitely have to check it out!

by tna325

We went to lunch on a Saturday and we are happy to say that there's a hibachi restaurant that's affordable and does not skimp on the serving, service and not to mention the food. Delicious filet mignion, shrimp, salmon and scallops...fried rice and veggies! Great waitress and show! I heard good things from my coworkers in Shoreline and my family were extremely pleased. We will definitely return again. Wished that we knew about this place before we went to BeniHana's for a special occasion.

Pros: Terrific food, attentive service, great atmosphere

Cons: n/a

Pleasant Find

by bradpit

A new restaurant i thought we would take a chance on and to my extreme delight Fuji turned out to be a top notch operation. The habachi table experience was great with all the usual knife and spatula displays ,somewaht corny jabber, but the food was prepared well and the atmosphere was great considering this used to be a Country Buffet joint. The impression that first trip left was good enough for a second trip to try the sushi bar/ restaurant side of the business and wow,it was fantastic. We ordered a sushi assortment and a sashimi assortment that were devine. Fresh and elegant presentations were brought with great service and attentive wait staff. Another in our party ordered simple teriyaki dish which was delivered to the table bento style with some tempura veggies, dumplings, rice and seasoned steamed broccoli. I truly hope that the word gets around that Fuji is for real and worth a try. Shoreline will be a happier place with Fuji in the neighborhood

Pros: great food ,service and pleasant atmosphere

Cons: none

Great Japanese Restaurant in Shoreline!

by albebe

We decided to try Fuji as we live just a couple miles away and we're always looking for new places to eat without having to travel downtown or the eastside. Our son's favorite resaurant is Tokyo's in Woodinville (also Tepan style), but after tonight's dinner, he actually said that he prefers Fuji. We were pleasantly surprised once we walked in the door. The decor is very nice. Hardwood (pergo) floors, nice wood work and tasteful decorations. It's really hard to believe that it once was OCB. The service is excellent! It's very apparent that the management instills good customer service - from the host, to the chef and all wait staff. The food was excellent. They start you off with miso soup, followed by salad. The chef then comes out and does the standard tepan performance. Good fried rice, tasty veggies and shrimp appetizer. Between the three of us, we had steak, chicken, and lobster. It was all top notch! They finished the meal off with a complimentary scoop of ice-cream. We were very pleased with our experience and we'll definitely be back again!

Pros: Good decor, great customer service, excellent food

A Beacon of Light on Aurora!?

by bjgough

My wife and I were lamenting the commute to find good Japanese food when you live in North Seattle. By chance, we saw an advertisement online for Fuji's and thought we'd do a drive by - I mean it IS on Aurora after all. But, we pulled in to the parking lot and decided we were up for an adventure.
We entered and found Fuji's a very clean and tastefully decorated place to eat. We were promptly seated at a Habachi table (other options included a Sushi bar, or regular dining room, or Sake bar). Our chef had all the expected knife twirling, volcano building, fire swirling panache (what's panache in Japanese?).
The food was great, the service was attentive and we started thinking of all the people that we know that we'd like to bring here. This is now OUR restaurant. Their Grand Opening was May 19th, and we'd love to see this restaurant succeed. We hope you'll give them a chance.

Pros: Best Japanese food north of Seattle!

Cons: It's on Aurora (but don't let that stop you!)
