I took a training course with my 1 year old Bernese Mountain Dog. I found the instructor to be incredibly knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. I looked forward to going to class each week. While my dog was a bit wild, she did remarkably well. I'm looking to get a puppy soon and won't hesitate to sign him up for classes too.

I adopted a two year old lab and started having housebreaking problems. I had a trainer come to my home and after a lot of training having nothing to do with my issues, I was told to crate my dog when I brought her in in the morning. Daisy started to mess in her crate, so the trainer started a separation protocol. Having no success with the first trainer I tried another. The second trainer started clicker training to relax Daisy in her crate. Daisy was always relaxed in her crate, the problem was a housebreaking issues.

My vet recommended that I call smartydog. After a 10 minute phone call we were able to resolve Daisy's issues. Martha explained that Daisy was so focused on coming in to get her breakfast, that she probably only peed outside. After she ate she was in the house and had to poop, not knowing how to ask to go out she would go down the hall and poop. The solution ( which has worked perfectly ) let her out in the morning bring her in to feed her, then let her back out to poop. It is now so obvious I don't know why I (or the other 2 trainers) didn't see it.

My dog had been to several different training facility and had done very well. I thought we had learned 90% of what was available to use. I was so wrong Martha showed me so many new exercises to do with my dog that I had never seen before.
I was alawys taught to teach my dog commands. Martha taught me to teach my dog concepts. She opened a new level of training and enjoyment for both me and my dog. I would highly reccomend her classes to any dog owner.
