Perfect restaurant that's right on the water. I am glad that I was able to take my wife out here for our anniversary dinner. I think it was the perfect place. We had amazing seafood. Probably the best we have ever had. But we were also really impressed by the service. Our waitress was so sweet, I wish I caught her name. But I'm sure the entire staff is all the same. I highly recommend this restaurant on the water.

The Lobster Ravioli is my favorite dish here. Me and my cousin are in love with how it just melts in your mouth. The sauce is cooked to perfection with all the right spices. You have to try it! I recommend this place to everyone I know because it's one of my favorite places.

I was there was for my bday last November. So that is how much I liked the place, I wanted to have my bday dinner there. So we now were a group of 10 and were served by the same waiter, which I still loved. He had this coolness about him. In our party were two children under the age of 8. The menu wasn't too accommodating to them so we had to make something up for them. But that was no biggie. The setting was still nice. we were able to sit by the window to enjoy the view and we were LOUD. If you look at this place, you would think that you cant be loud, but you can. it wasn't busy, so we acted as if we owned the place. they didn't mind. Its an Italian/Seafood place. we know the Italians get very vocal while they eat. So any who, the prices are a tad steep for those that do not like to spend over $30 a meal. this does include your entree and a specialty drink. I highly recommend if you are an out of towner or opting for a nice date

What better evening can you have on Wednesday night - hump day! Great jazz, good food, attentive service and wonderful drinks. During the holiday try their pumpkin vodka special...yum, yum, yum! The Jazz are local musicians (Frank Jackson, Noel Jewkes, Shota Osabe, and the GREAT Jim Rothermel) and the music makes the atmosphere cozy and comfortable. Have been there so far three times and loved it every time...I'm trying the stand up comedy on Thursdays next!!!

We went here for drinks and had a nice table out on the patio. Jennifer the bartender made me an amazing lemon drop and even came to our table to greet us and ensure that the drinks were made to our satisfaction. Nice service!

From the outside, this place looks okay. But the environment, and service was great when seated. I had been here twice and both times were awesome. Their food was great; I haven't tried much but try either the lobster ravioli or the fried calamari. MMMMMmmmmmmm GOOD!

With the Wharf as a major tourist area, I still wanted a quiet place for seafood and good service. I did enjoy the view of the harbor and live music from the bar. The wait staff all seem to work together so it?s nice always having someone check on your, bring or take things away from your table when needed. The food was really just ""so so"". I had the king crab legs and my boyfriend enjoyed shrimp and steak. The clam chowder was very good but basically the food was just ordinary and over priced.

We went to this old time Wharf restaurant and had a wonderful time. They had music in the early evening in the bar. We had a great time. The musicians like to banter with the crowd. It created a fun party atmosphere. Food was wonderful. The seafood was really fresh. We had the swordfish and the halibut , absolutely fantastic. We saw racks of ribs going to other tables that looked great too. This place has a newer updated look compared to some of the other places.\r\n\r\nWe would highly recommend going here. Reasonably priced as well.\r\n

I can't believe what I'm reading here. The restaurant I went to had superb Alaskan beer; I tried the lunch menu, twice.\r\nThe first time I had the NY Steak Sandwich, and it was absolutely the best piece of steak I have ever eaten, with plenty of delicious trimmings, all for the equivalent of less than #15 UK, including beer and tips. The waitress was friendly, she even took my picture with the great view outside; and as for the architecture, if the food is right and the building has curtain windows with an unrestricted view of the Wharf, what on Earth does a lack of fake sophistication matter? The ordinary decor is good because it puts you at ease and you aren't expecting to pay a premium for something that doesn't fill you up and you cannot taste.\r\nThe second time I had the Pacific Red Snapper, which came with mustard-infused Creamed Potato and assorted steamed vegetables in a tasty white sauce.\r\nAbsolutely delicious, no more expensive and the beer was just as good.\r\nI had to decline the dessert trolley as I wanted to take the Bay Trip, and with the boat literally adjacent to the restaurant, I didn't have to go far.\r\nCall me a tourist, but I know good food, maybe not always great like the steak, and if you really need to worry about fresh fish you should get out of town in a small fishing port or go to the market and cook your own.\r\nAs my old friends back home said,""Fisherman's Wharf?Steak? They're pulling cows out of the Pacific? Wouldn't like to meet them in a dark alley.""

Pros: I've had two great lunchtimes there. Don't forget the bar.

Cons: I'm no longer in San Mateo.

Though this place has a nice waterfront location, the inside is reminiscent of a suburban chain restaurant, with cheap decor and dirty floors. The chowder, which came recommended by the waiter, was no better (perhaps even worse) than a store brand's canned soup. The lobster bisque had one, I'm talking ONE, little piece of lobster in it. When we addressed the waiter about this, he replied, ""It's a bisque; the lobster is $40-50 per piece. We can't afford to put a lot of lobster in it."" Needless to say, the bisque was a cornstarch, cream, and complete blandness concoction. The waiter was rude to our party, arguing that our expectations of a seafood restaurant to have actual SEAFOOD in the dishes was absurd. Needless to say, save your big time cash (it's a rip-off) and go to one of the street vendors for their seafood. You'll get what you pay for. This is an absolute trap that is riding on the fact that it has waterfront property at the Wharf.

Cons: food, service, atmosphere, basically everything a restaurant should have.

Horrible!\r\n\r\nWe ordered ""whole"" dungeness crabs and were served pre-frozen, overcooked crab legs. Complaints to the staff about the discrepancy went unheeded. The manager actually tried to tell us that we got more crab meat than if he'd served us the entire crab.\r\n\r\nI've never had a worse experience at a restaurant in San Francisco. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.

**DO NOT** **DO NOT** give this place any business especially in the bar area when a so called bartender who's name begins with"" R"" is working. Not only is he short and bald but the attitude that he projects is unbelieveably RUDE!!! Visited a few days ago early afternoon for a beer with my son (second time in two days) first day I gave him benefit of the doubt however, second day he was very rude when I requested crackers for my 12 month old son. His response was ""you were here yesterday and he made a mess"" I understand that you are very short staffed (no pun intended) but you Mr. R. need to realize that you are working at the Wharf which is one of our main tourist attractions in the city. The reason why i say ""our"" is because i'm born and raised in this beautiful city of ours and to have a implant from god knows where you came makes me sick for you to even have a job in the industry. I will follow up with Todd and Maria ASAP!

I visited here just last week. First of all, the server ordered me to pass him my plates when I wasn't even done with my meal. He demanded that I hand him only unused utensils and left the others on the table. Not only that, he was licking his fingers while walking around the restaurant. \n\nWe just wanted to get out of there as soon as we got the bill, but found out that we were overcharged by 6 dollars on one of the dishes. The waiter claimed that they just changed the menu. We had to wait for 8 minutes for them to ""give us the discount.""

I had dinner here with friends and had a wonderful meal. The food is prepared more upscale than the usual Fisherman's Wharf fare. We all tried something different and were wonderfully surprised. The fish was fresh, beautiful presentation and the side dishes were quite refreshing.\n\nWe were told that they had just gone through a major remodel of the entire restaurant. They did a great job. The place is open, airy and light and has a new up to date feel to it. A couple of the restaurants on the wharf that we looked at are pretty dreary, old, outdated and dirty.\n\nIf you're looking for somewhere romantic with great food. I would highly recommend\nCastagnola's. The booths are great.\n

I had the fish and chips for lunch and you would figure that fish and chips is pretty hard to mess up. Well, it was probably the blandest food I had ever tasted. And for the price, hardly worth it. Definitely a tourist's nightmare!!!
