We took our new puppy to Aloha Dog & Cat Hospital and were not satisfied with the care we received and ended up switching vets. They did not listen to our concerns and were quick to jump to conclusions over our desire not to get our dog vaccinated for bordatella. One of the vet techs there was very nice, but overall I would not recommend this office.
We absolutely love Dr. McGarvey. Drs. Thrower and Gribskov are great too. We have an 18 year old kitty with kidney failure. She's been doing well with it for over three years now thanks to Dr. McGarvey's help. This vet totally understands how important our cat is to us, but that we don't want to put her through absolutely every test available. She listens very well and answers all of our questions. This has been a very emotional roller coaster for us and I feel like Dr. McGarvey is very empathetic. We've mostly seen Dr. Gribskov for our 3 yr. old dog and they have a good rapport.
The staff here is the best! They really treat your animal like one of the family...making sure they are well taken care of. They sell some pet foods as well as pet name tags. They give shots & do well-pet check-ups. They really make you feel at ease when your pet is not doing well.
Had to make that decision this morning... the one we all dread. At 17 years old, our cat Riley was fading fast. His hips had finally failed him.
I took him to our local vet, who insisted we pay for a full exam before they would consider euthanasia. "Ruling out all other medical care options." As if this isn't hard enough? Total bill 240.00. To make matters worse, they couldn't "fit him in" until the next day. I went home sobbing and got out the yellow pages. 10 calls later, I found Aloha Dog & Cat Hospital.
From the first moment we spoke, the staff was compassionate and helpful. They too, had a busy schedule.. but made special arrangements to meet me immediately. The doctor graciously walked me through the procedure beforehand. The technicians were so kind and thoughful. I was not rushed. We took things at the pace I could handle. When it was time to say goodbye - I felt a sense of peace and relief.
Five stars. I thank them so so much.
We will be returning to Aloha Dog & Cat for all our veterinary needs. No question!
As someone who has worked in the veterinary industry for many years I feel very quailified to recommend Aloha Dog & Cat Hospital. Actually I have recommended them to many of my friends and they all have come to love the clinic as well. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and wonderfully compassionate. They offer 5 star service at very reasonable prices.
Pros: Totally Fantastic! Professional service through and through.
Cons: Parking can be tricky at times. They are so popular they could use more spaces.
