Best pizza in Chicago. Most people will say New York has the best pizza but I am sorry! Hands down Giordanos is the best pizza you will ever eat! It takes 45 minutes from the time you order it until it hits your table. So delicious!

If you have never eaten here than I'm telling you now it is worth a trip to Chicago just to eat at this pizza place! Giordanos has been here forever and it is sooooo freakin good. The interior of the restaurant is old school and looks really cool. The pizza guys are pretty rude but its all a part of the experience.

Let me first say that I am a fan of Chicago pizza and, although there are much better options, I've liked Giordano's "Chicago Style" pizza in the past. However, their thin crust pizza maybe the worst pizza I have ever tasted. It doesn't even earn the required one star.....really. Not to mention, we paid $32 for two medium pizzas. At this price, I would hope for a memorable pie and that is what we got, it was terrible. The crust was thick, not thin as advertised, and tasted like a frozen pizza. Save your money and buy DiGiorno's. It couldn't be any worse.

My family and I waited for an hour and a half only to be treated with the rudest customer service I've experienced. The hostesses were abhorently immature and foul and on top of it by the time we got seated and our food, it wasn't all that great. I'd have enjoyed Pizza Hut just as much or perhaps more seeing that I wouldn't have to deal with rudeness on top of it!

Giordano's deserved zero stars!

My husband and I visited Giordano's to experience their highly recommended pizza ?? were we disappointed! We visited at around 5:00pm on a Saturday, but were ready and willing for the anticipated wait. After giving our name at the host??s stand and pre-ordering our pizza to reduce the wait after we got our table, we squeezed into the filled-to-capacity bar area. My husband went to the bar to order a beer but couldn??t get the bartender??s attention ?? because this bartender had his back to the customers more than he faced the multitudes of potential customers. After waiting for a while we thought we heard our name called and made our way to the host??s stand. When we got there, we were rudely informed that it wasn??t our name that was called. We continued to wait with the rest of the throng and finally our name was called. The host basically grunted and pointed to a table near the front door. We took our seats at the indicated table and waited?we waited over 15 minutes and never saw a server. At this point we had been abused enough and left. We are not high-maintenance customers; we understood that is was a Saturday evening at a popular restaurant and that we would have to be understanding of the situation. The rudeness and inattentiveness experienced was beyond the situation; any good restaurant with attentive management would be prepared to handle the crowd of customers and would hire a staff that could handle the situation. Giordano??s isn??t the only place serving pizza in Chicago!

This was my first visit to this location. With the Randolph street location there isn't really much of a wait, but we waited about an hour at this location. After we put our name in they let you order your pizza since it does take about 45 minutes to cook. I would add about 1 or 2 people to the recommended people a pizza can feed if you are ordering the stuffed pizza. they seem to under estimate it by about 1 o 2 people.

Pros: Great pizza and garlic bread.

I ate at 3 different Giordano's locations in Chicago, and the service and pizza were always excellent. The pizza can definitely take a long time to make, particularly during busy hours, so you need to be patient.
We also noticed that groups that order individual pizzas for each person tend to get them faster than if you order one large pizza...
Nonetheless, the deepdish is excellent and I would definitely recommend it.

I have the pleasure of visiting Chicago every year or two and always make it a point to eat at Giordano's. I just got back and was not disappointed. It is everything I remember. The staff was courteous and the food was very good. I'll be having pizza for breakfast. Thanks for the memories! See you next year!

We love pizza, could eat it every day, and have been to Giordano's, Pizzeria Uno, Lou Malnati's, Gino's East - and honestly - Giordano's is the BEST. Awesome tasty crust, excellent sauce, stretchy and yummy cheese - don't even bother with toppings, this pizza is heaven. Gino's East would get second place, but the place smelled so much like spilled, stale beer, that the pizza ended up tasting like beer (depends on your liking, but that is not a good thing for us). Lou Malnati's was a HUGE disappointment, the pizza crust was disgusting, cheese and sauce OK, and Pizzeria Uno tasted like frozen pizza - enough said.

ordered thin crust with vegetables and the crust was very thick - does anyone do a true thin crust ?

Am looking for a light thin crust - not half inch thick doughy pizza like what I got here

I don't know how the restaurant itself is, but the pizza isn't really that great (or, it wasn't for me). Lou Malnati's or Chicago's Pizza and Pasta easily beats it. Prices are decent, or at least comparable to those other places, but, once again, pizza just not that good. And fettuccine alfredo could have been a LOT better.

2nd time eating here from Houston. Both times the pizza has been exceptional, and the staff are very friendly. There was a bit of a wait, but when this place gets the reviews it gets, you come to expect it, but then you can place your order ahead of time, and when you are seated, it doesn't take long at all for it to be delivered.

I will be going back next time I go to Chicago !

I love Giordano's! Although the Zagat guide is correct when it says "varies by location" I've ate at the Rush St. location which is great! And the Belmont location is good, but the Naperville location was not so great. But I love Giordano's stuffed pizza, it is only 2nd to Chicago's on Sheffield (possibly a tie though). The only negative things I have to say are that they wont deliver to my apartment (even though I'm just right down Chicago Ave, but oh well I just order from Chicago's) and this location is usually very crowded. Oh another plus is that you can order their stuffed pizzas online and have them shipped anywhere... this will be the best when I move in 3 months.

My daughter (college junior) and I were in Chicago for one of her internship interviews and ate at Giordano's before heading back home to Kentucky. We were excited to try Chicago pizza since there was so much buzz on the Chicago "pizza experience". The dining area decor was tastefully done and the service was great; the Caesar's salad was delicious with the most wonderful croutons (garlicky and lots of olive oil, just like I make at home). However, I have to say the pizza was just okay -- nothing to get crazy excited over and certainly not a noteworthy "Chicago pizza experience". While the sauce held some flavor, the crust was very dry and the overall pizza was kind of bland. Clearly, Elizabethtown, Kentucky (yes -- the location of Cameron Crowe's film "Elizabethtown") is not know as the "Pizza Capital" with its Pizza Huts, Papa John's and Domino's, but I have had more flavorful pies at Impellizari's and Wick's in Louisville. I will say one good thing about Giordano's pizza, the leftovers tasted better cold on our return trip home.

We were visiting Chi-town for a weekend getaway and wanted to have a casual evening. We decided on Chicago-style Pizza. Giorgano's was right down the street and had received good reviews, so we thought we would try it. It was wonderful! The crust was light and flakey w/ a great buttery taste. Tons of stringy cheese and the veggies were crisp and fresh. The best part was the fresh tomato sauce on top. In addition, the service was that of a 5-star restaurant w/pizza parlor prices!

I can proudly say that I have eaten at Giordano's once in my life. My college group that I toured with in 1993 had the pleasure of eating there on a stop, and I was blown away! The pizza was the thickest, cheesiest, and tastiest I had ever put in my mouth. I was so good, it makes you want to weep! I haven't eaten there since then, but I haven't found in any of my travels pizza that compares to this restaurants yet. Although I live in Arkansas, I still brag on the great taste of Giordano's to anyone that mentions good pizza. The atmosphere was cozy, the tables weren't enough to hold our entire group, but they were kind enough to accomodate us without any fuss. The staff was extremely friendly and inviting the service was great! We didn't want for anything. The wait is sooooo worth it for a fresh, hot pie straight out of the oven. We were enjoying ourselves so much that we didn't notice actually how long it took to enjoy our meal. I would advise anyone in the surrounding area to visit and have their deep dish at least once. If I lived close by, I would order probably once or twice a week. I hope to visit Chicago again soon, so look for me! I'll be the one with the gigantic grin on my face!!

I absolutely love giordano's pizza. My family and I eat there at least 2-3 times a month. Especially when I don't feel like cooking dinner. We seem to never tire the place. The prices are resonable, the pizza is always hot, fresh, and never burned. They also offer coupons. Aside from the parking, their range of delivery is too close, so we either have to dine in or pick up.

Okay fine... I may be an out of towner, but my tastebuds still think this place has some of the best Chicago Style Stuffed Pizza ever! The first time I came here, there was a long wait so I opted to go to another Chicago Pizza Restaurant (Lou Minoulta's). Later I came back to try Giordanos because I heard so much about it, and boy was I glad I came back. The pizza does take awhile came out, but that was because it isn't made until you order it. I completely destroyed all of that pizza and held no prisoners! It was cheesy (the way I like it) and had a great crust (usually I dont eat crust). To anyone from out of town, I completely suggest coming here to eat. If you dont want to wait long, I suggest just coming at an offpeak time.

I give this place a great rating because I'd like others to try it. But I'm originally from NY so we enjoy a different type of "foldable" pizza there. And this is not foldable, it comes in a deep dish. Still, I liked the atmosphere and although the Pizza is not my favorite, it is worth a try.

Great ingredients cheese that stretches out across the table as each slice is served.
Down side. Not much-I am a Chicago transplant and overnite pizza from Chicago's great pizzarias. Giordano's will not send pizza with meat on it. Well that is a neutered pizza. There are others pizza makers in Chicago that will send you the pizza you want

if you like pizza you'll love giordano's, if you don't like pizza you'll love giordano's. This is a meal that you cannot miss with, try the deep dish or the thin crust it doesn't matter, just depends on how hungry you are. Have loved this pizza since first trying it in june 1992.

if you like pizza you'll love giordano's, if you don't like pizza you'll love giordano's. This is a meal that you cannot miss with, try the deep dish or the thin crust it doesn't matter, just depends on how hungry you are. Have loved this pizza since first trying it in june 1992.

Pros: excellent italian food choices

Cons: too many people love it not enough seating

I was born in Chicago and have lived in many other major cities, Giordano's is by far the best pizza around. The ingrediants definitely make the pizza. The deep dish has a great mixture of sauce and cheese, along with whatever else you add to it. The crust is also doughy so that it is easy to eat. Lou Malnati's and Gino's East are close behind, but Giordano's has been #1 in our family for as long as I can remember. We order pizza every friday night and Giordano's is our choice 75% of the time. The thin crust is just as good. A lot of cheese, great sauce and a little greasy, but that's what makes it taste so good. You can't go wrong with Giordano's, Lou Malnati's or Gino's East, but my first choice is always Giordano's Deep Dish.

Have tried Giordano's three different times, will never go back. Didn't like the crust, the sauce, or anything else about this chain. Lifetime Chicagoan, don't feel that this is at all representative of our wonder Deep Dish pizza.

Pros: Unfortunately, I couldn't find any.

Cons: Really didn't like the food at all, also poor service. Will never go back.

After living in Chicago for 23 years, Giordano's is the best pizza made anywhere on the planet. I've been to several in the Chicago area and one in Orlando, and have always been very satisfied. After leaving Chicago, 10 years ago, I make a point to consume as much as possible when visiting. Leave the California and floppy New York styles on the coast. Don't order appetizers, save your palate for the main course, pizza. I've had Uno's, Lou Malnati's, Gino's, Barnaby's and many others, but there is no comparison to the food quality at Giordano's. The in-restaurant atmosphere is good, not great, but if you want to know what pizza is supposed to taste like, visit Giordano's. Perfect for a romantic date, a family gathering, or after the game with the boys. You won't be disappointed.

I always heard people say Giordano's was great, so I went and tried it and I wasn't impressed. They have good service, and the place was nice and clean, but the pizza is nothing more than average in my book.

I've been to Giordano's several times and I know it has quite a following. I've never considered it all that great. OK but not great. Crust tends to be dry and hard and the sauce a little watery. Restaurant ambiance is nice enough but the place does tend to be a bit pricey for what you get.

Best part of my experience there was the bartender who was friendly and chatty. I'd definitely go here for a few drinks.

Pros: Great Bartender, Nice Atmosphere, Nice Variety of Food

Cons: Little Pricey

Average pizza with cracker like crust... yuks! The deep dish was better, but my waitress who didn't speek or understand English very well gave it to me by mistake and even disagreed and argued with me about my order. Tourists who have never had a good Chicago pizza should be happy though.

Not only does Giordano's have great pizza, cannoli, and salads, but they are very generous in their support of the arts. I've had two show openings in which they have very generously contributed pizzas. I highly recommend their pizza, their salads and their people.
