A couple evenings ago, my wife came home from work and exclaimed, "This is the best haircut you've ever gotten!" These days, that's the nicest thing I can expect to hear from her.
I have notoriously difficult hair. But I had to admit she was right. If only I'd looked as good below the hairline as I did above.
The haircut in question was rendered by Bill Hancock, proprietor of "CityBarberShop," on J street between 2nd and 3rd. It was one of probably fifty great haircuts I'd gotten from him over the past few years.
In an era when everyone with a pair of scissors calls him or herself a "stylist," Bill steadfastly and proudly stands by the title "Master Barber." One session in his chair and you'll see why. He's fast, he's versatile, he's reasonable, he's a consummate storyteller, and he's just damn good.
Need a haircut? Go here and talk to Bill. Period. The man has hair in his (veins). (Don't be alarmed; it's just a figure of speech.)
