I have taken my babies to Shively for years and there is no better clinic in town. The doctors are truly compassionate and do what they do for the love of it. They are dedicate to every animal in their care.
This clinic is so wonderful I was even given a job there when the economy got bad and I lost my other job. Getting to work there and see what goes on behind the scenes makes me that more comfortable with their ability and dedication to the animals. The doctors are there until late in the evening checking on the animals. Although it's not open to the public 24/7 the clinic itself is fully staff at all times of the day and night so you can be sure your baby is always being checked on and your babies needs are being met.
Pros: compassionate doctors, great service, low fees, pymt plans
Shively is a wonderful clinic with talented and compassionate vets.
To those of you blaming Shively because you were too stupid to take your pet to an actual 24 hour emergency clinic when they need it, congratulations, you murdered your pet all by your self. You disgust me.
Pros: Great vets and care.
Cons: Long waits.
we have been comen here since 1974...the drs and the nurses here are just great and very caring. my baby just passed away there...and they did all they could for him..god was just ready to call him home..and i just want to tell them ty for all they did...and i just love them all..and i thank god for them every day.
Pros: all thumbs up...
Yeah, they may offer great service... but i wouldn't know. I needed after hours care and they wouldn't provide it for me because I was not an established client . . .THANKS FOR NOTHING!
I just want to say Shivley is the best around. Dr Joyce is excellent and has been taking care of my one year old cat Oliver. The wait is long at times, but well worth it. They will also work payment plans out as well. What vet would do that. They truly care about the animal and not the money. They refer to your pet as your baby.
Pros: how my cat was treated
Cons: long wait
I live in Radcliff, over an hour away from the clinic. I have 7 animals, 4 cats and 3 dogs. All of my animals recieve treatment from this amazing clinic. Yes, there is a long long wait, but if you catch them around lunch, its usually not as busy. They treat your animals like they are children and even refer to them as "babies'. They're prices are EXTREMELY low and it is well worth the drive and the wait. Two of my pets have horrible allergies and I drive 2 hours round trip because they are the only people I trust with my pets. I highly recommend them.
Pros: Low prices, friendly, clean, helpful... etc
Cons: Long wait... but worth it
They are great. Take time with you and your pet. I don't understand the one negative review. It does not sound like them at all. Any day you go there the waiting room is crowded because people are willing to wait for someone who really cares about their pet. Simple as that. I drive 60 miles round trip to see them.
These guys are great and very reasonable. Hands down just a great vet:) My dog Charlie doesn't mind at all going to the vet.
A POOR SICK DOG DIED FROM RECIEVING NO TREATMENT AT ALL AND WANTS TO BLAME THE OWNER WHO WAS SEEKING TREATMENT FOR VERY LOVED AND WONDERFUL COMPANION BUT THE END RESULTS IS SHE IS DEAD NOW....
WELL I THINK THE DOORS SHOULD BE CLOSED AT THIS LOCATION.. THE EXPERIENCE WAS CRAPPY.. ALSO A POOR HELPLESS SICK DOG WAS THE VICTOM OF THIS PLACE.. SHE WAS IN DIE OR NEED OF EMERGENCY TREATMENT AND THE VET KNEW SHE WAS COMING.. SHE NEEDED AN IV BUT THIS PLACE CHOSE NOT TO GIVE IT TO HER AND THEN THEY PUT A NOTE IN HIS ACCOUNT THE OWNER THAT IS THAT HE REFUSED ANY TREATMENT AT ALL.. BUT THAT IS SO NOT TRUE.. THE MAN THAT OWNES THIS PET WOULD LET THE PET EAT, SLEEP,BATH,ETC. BEFORE HE WOULD THINK ABOUT HISSELF.. SO NOW HE HAD TO BARRY HIS FAITHFUL COMPANION TODAY.. SO IF YOU HAVE ANY COMPASSION THEN YOU WILL RETHINK YOUR DESICIONS ABOUT HOW, OR WHAT KIND OF TREATMENT YOUR PET RECIEVES.. WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO WHEN THE MONEY MEANS MORE THAN THE TREATMENT.... I WILL NEVER VISIT THIS LOCATION EVER AGIAN.......
They are great. We found a wild baby bunny that was injured , i called them after hours on a holiday and they told me to bring it in that night. The lady who was working was so sweet and asked me what happened and took the bunny from me. They are a Kentucky certified wildlife rehab, and they are wonderful. We have used them in the past for our African Pigmy Hedgehogs. Dr. Fuchs performed surgery several times on them including removing an eye which had become infected. The hedgehog lived many happy years after that. They were always kind and caring when the hogs got sick and I would take them in there. The wait is bad, but if you have exotics or any other animal it is worth the wait.
Shively Animal Clinic is an amazing place to go if your pets need treatment or even if they just need their nails trimmed. They treat the animals like their own and they tell you every detail of what is going on. The staff is friendly and the service is great. They also have some amazing prices you won't find anywhere else. Because of this, I think the wait is well worth it.
Pros: Excellent Service and Prices
Cons: Long Wait
Shively animal clinic was recommended to us by a friend last week when our 10 year old dalmatian was having back spasms. The clinic is open 7 days a week and doesn't charge emergency fees (during normal hours)-even on the weekends! Sure, the wait was long but it was well worth it. Everyone that works there is so nice--from the vets to the receptionist! The vet we saw listened to us and really took the time to examine our dog even though it was towards the end of the day and they were very busy. It was good to have a vet that gave us honest information and didn't recommend a countless tests or surgeries (we've heard it all). She gave our dog some medication and two days later she was running around like a pup. We treat our dog like our child and felt like these are the type of vets that understand that--they even called the next day to see how she was doing! We won't take our dog anywhere else...this is the best place we've ever taken our dog! Not to mention, their prices are ridiculously low!
Pros: Prices, great vets and staff, excellent hours of operation
Cons: the wait (but it's worth it)
Yes the wait is long. Ask anyone who takes their pet to Shively on a regular basis and they will all say the very same thing.... "it's worth it". I have tried many other clinics, for we all want the best care for our babies right? Well, Shively offers you that and then some. They are extremely knowledgable, friendly and compassionate. They are the cheapest clinic in town and if that isn't enough... they work with you on the bill! How many vets do that these days?
My dog is deathly allergic to fleas. I have tried different vets, different treatments and it was Dr. David at Shively that helped him get the best and final regular treatment. He gets a new flea allergy shot once a month. No more spending numorous dollars on different expensive foods, dips, topicals, and such. Just a shot. I have referred everyone I know there and I have heard NO ONE complain about the service they have received. For those of you who live close, they offer another wonderful service. (Yes it does get better.) You can sign in and they will call you when you are next in to see the doctor!!!! This is great for night-shifters, mothers, care givers, and even the person who can't be around alot of people in one room.
Well, I think I have told enough of this secret place, time for you to find out for yourself.
Pros: Compassion, cheap fees, pymts arrangements, no aapt. needed, many vets to chose from. (I could go on forever)
Cons: Long wait.
