When Shopping comes to mind, the Water Tower immediately follows in thought. I love the Water Tower and the shops on the surrounding Michigan Avenue. With my focus on building my makeup collection, I am always drawn to the MAC Cosmetics area in the Macy's department store, as well as Sephora. Then I follow my regular route of going to Auntie Annie's Pretzels, then Victoria's Secret, Bebe, Steve Madden, maybe some other things in between, but culminating with Food Life Restaurant is the favorite part. At Food Life, you have a huge selection of entrees from thai food, to American, to Dessert. A good time, and wonderful exploration of Chicago's Near North Downtown area.

The Water Tower Place is a great mall for shopping. It is located on Chicago's Magnificent Mile. Over 100 stores and restaurants are located inside. Stores range from rather cheaper ones to pricier ones. There are elevators and escalators inside, which ever you prefer. Dining is downstairs. You are given a card when you enter which you use to get your food from whatever restaurant you prefer. You choose where you sit. On your way out, your card is turned in and that is when you pay. The Water Tower Place is clean and there are ATMs. Visit their website for more information.

Pros: Ambience, Cleanliness, Service, Location, Comfort and Convenience
Cons: Parking
The Water Tower Place is one of the best malls in America. The 8 levels of stores run from the silly to the boutiquey. The major department store is Macy's, which is itself a gem. Downstairs is Foodlife, which provides options for any taste. The glass elevators and central atrium make for some great people watching and easy to scan self-help directing (no map needed). Basically, I enjoy shopping here, and I'm not a big fan of crowded mall style shopping.

Just another mall crowded with suburbanites and suburban minded tourists.
1Just another mall crowded with suburbanites and suburban minded tourists.
Pros: little
Cons: artificial, boring architeture, mall food court
This is a mall I've shopped at with my Mom for the past 15 years. It has always been fun and has the best trendy shops and restaurants. It is best known for the Glass elevators, which make it fun to look up or down, if you're not afraid of heights! Marshall Field's is the main store with seven floors.
