I love this place! I am totally going back for my tattoo!

First off:
It was easy to get to from downtown portland- burnside area

I came in by myself, so, already I felt kind of weird- I had just had my tongue pierced 3 days earlier on a vacation out of state- but the piercer didn't give me any after care advice or tips!

So I wasn't sure if i could even get my industrial bar done.
I asked when I came in, and they were extremelyl patient with me! He showed me what to fill out on the forms, and after looking through it, was very kind and patient, in letting me go to the grocery store to get something to eat (to make sure I wouldn't pass out).

During the procedure of piercing my ear- the guy who did it had nothing but nice things to say, and gave me tips about my tongue piercing too!
he made sure i wanted my earing exactly the way he marked -to place it.

and after wards gave me salt solution for both my piercings, and told me to come back in 3 weeks to adjust my tongue piercing!

no other parlor will do that for me!

these people are AMAZING! i would never think to go anywhere else!

PS great prices!

Pros: GREAT SERVICE, personal, many options, good prices, patient

Cons: NONE

Love their location. Even if you are not getting anything done--it is worth it just to check out their decor and all of their awesome jewelry.

They have about 10 cases full of jewelry everything from wood to stone to metal. They also have a great selection of tribal stuff.

The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. They verify where they buy their jewelry from so you are not getting something cheap from gosh-knows-where.

They are very sterile and know what they are doing.

The best in the business!!

Pros: great ambiance

Cons: none!

I'm in love with Robot! They totally helped me out of a rough spot with a botched nose piercing, AND didn't make me feel like a dork for my poor decision making. I got it right this time.....everyone at Robot seems mellow and down to earth, and chock full of skill and knowledge. On top of all that they have an amazing jewelry selection. What could be better? They also have a fun selection of feather earrings and delightful little trinket-ey things! swoon!!

Pros: talent, jewelry

I went in recently and got my nose pierced here by Jon. It was my first body piercing, and so I was a little nervous. However, the atmosphere was layed back, and all the employees were incredibly nice and friendly, which made me relax, alot.
Jon was amazing as well. He has to be one of the nicest and most professional people I have ever met, and I'm saying this from the 10 minutes I was in his presence getting pierced. He talked me through everything, and the actual piercing was pretty much painless (almost..lol)
and the price was excellent too. $50 I don't think was too much for the great experience and great piercing I had...and the piece of nose jewelry I got I love!
If I ever decide to get more piercings, I would defiantly go back here as a first choice. I might even go back here for more next tattoo, their tattoo portfolios looked awesome!

Pros: Great looking shop, friendly employees, layedback atmosphere

Cons: location was kinda hard to find, but I am from Vancouver!

Very painless piercing done by Pink.
Sidekick A-line made for a fun experience.
Would go back for any piercing needs.

Pros: Nice displays, wide variety of jewelry, courteous employees

I've been wanting to get my lobes stretched for quite some time. All of my friends who have theirs stretched (and friends who pierce as well) have always drilled it in that I need to go slow.

When I went in to speak with Jo, she wanted to get me from nothing to a 2 gauge. It seemed like it was going to be a huge step too soon. I consulted with a few of my piercer friends (who live out of state), and they freaked out saying that it was too big too soon, and advised that I check out another shop. I went back in though because I was in love with the jewelery, and tried to express my concerns with Jo. She addressed them, but assured me that if I ultimately wanted to have a big gauge in there, I should pierce as close to it as possible because it would be the most cost efficient way. I let her now that I would rather pay more to have a good piercing, than save money and potentially risk having a piercing gone bad because I stretched too fast. She seemed to lose patience with me.

I still question her advice, but I love the jewelery selection they have.

I wanted to get my cheeks pierced for a long time and I did allot of research and I was aware that the pain would be horrible and that the healing would be awful but I wanted it anyway and I never got a piercing at ROBOT but I just knew that they were a good place from how I felt and what I heard from other people. I went in to get it done and I talked to Jon and he was weary to do my cheeks all the way through and he said that we should talk options. He suggested for me to get Dermal Anchors. I agreed and it was the best piercing experience I have ever had! He was so animated and friendly that I felt extremely comfortable. When he was hurting me putting it in he apologized the whole time and said how sorry he was to have to hurt me but sometimes it is stubborn. A friend was there and he actually fainted from seeing the wound and Jon was so helpful with him and made everyone feel comfortable. I also got my lip done at the same time and everything is perfect. My dermal did come out on one cheek but it can happen because it is a piercing that your body can reject easily and I called and asked if I could go in and get it redone and I talked to a lady on the phone who was unbelievably nice and friendly and I went in yesterday and got it redone and I was extremely pleased. It was a fast process and sooo hygienic. I recommend everyone that I talk to now that wants to get a piercing because they are just amazing at what they do. I am so happy that he offered to have me get dermal anchors instead of full cheek piercing. All around the best experience in any service I have ever had. I am a Robot!

Pros: Everything.

Cons: No cons at all.

i've had my ears stretched as well as nipples, septum and ears pierced here by jon, jo and autumn. they are all amazing. i've been given fabulous service, honest advice (including "no, i won't do that", which i appreciate) and great help with aftercare issues. they're definitely the best i've been to, so i'll be going back for some dermal anchors and more body piercings. they also have a good selection of jewelry (it beats everywhere else i've been in the area). jon makes some seriously amazing jewelry and gentry is the most rad counter person you'll find. go there and check them out. the only thing that could make robot piercing better would be staying open later. there's been several times i've wanted to swing by but couldn't because they close at 7pm.

This last November I had gone into the shop with my boyfriend and gotten my nose bridge pierced, and holy moley, I am so happy with it! I also adore the natural materials used [stone, wood, bone] in the extended selection of jewelry on display, which all things considered, is incredibly unique in design to say the least; there are so many good pieces to choose from, I've spent an hour on three different occasions debating on what to purchase. The shop's atmosphere is so very welcoming and the employees present themselves asif in perpetual sanguinity. I highly, and entirely reccomend this piercing studio, for anyone and everyone.

Pros: Munificent service, full fruition in general, amiable atmosphere, extreme satisfaction

Cons: None?

My boyfriend and I started going to John last summer, and since then, I havn't gone ANYWHERE else for my body mod needs. Everybody in the shop is very friendly and professional, and highly skilled. Robot is also one of the only shops in Portland that offers sub dermal anchor piercings, which I love. I recomend everyone I know to them, and I've never seen anyone come out unhappy.

Robot is also conviniently located in the same building as The Scarlett Garden Dark Shoppe, and Corrosion Records... for all you gothic subculture music and fashion needs!

Pros: Great jewelery selection, AWSOME staff, excellent customer service

Cons: Limited hours

★★★★★

Best peircing experience from beginning to end.
Very wide selection of jewlery, clean & proffessional yet still loads of fun-awesome atmosphere, friendly-helpful service/staff!
Humans behaving humanly
Brilliant!

Pros: Everything?!

I tend to be very nervous about new piercings. I'm whiny, twitchy, inquisitive, and so forth. Not a problem. I've gotten 3 new holes since I found Robot 2 years ago. They're the most kind, knowledgable, and wuss-tolerant professionals I've ever had the pleasure of being punctured by. Not kidding. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone with a more steady hand, and friendly smile to pierce you.
Also, the selection of jewelry is excellent, truly top notch, and the atmosphere is fun and hygenic (and they play good music.).
Seriously though, I -only- go to Robot when I need work done.

Pros: Coward friendly, Good people, Clean studio, Large Selection

★★★★★

★★★★★

I haven't come across a nicer, more helpful and friendly staff in my entire life. Seriously. Very cool people and a continually new selection of clothing, stickers, jelewry, plugs, etc. I always find something new when i go in. And if you're getting a piercing, I highly reccommend Joe. one kicka$$ cool chik!

Pros: just about everything.

Cons: don't drive there. it's better for the planet anyways.

★★★★★

I have been going to Robot for years now - absolutely the only place in PDX I would allow pierce me. Jon pierced my tongue, nostrils, septum and earlobes, Autumn pierced my nipples and Jo pierced my labret. They are all amazing piercers -- they make it fun and I totally trust them. Amazing jewelry too... I'm into stone and bone jewelry and they have the best selection. Yay ROBOT!!!

Pros: friendly & welcoming, professional, knowledgable

Cons: can't think of a one

★★★★★

I would never go anywhere else! The staff make you feel welcome and comfortable. They are extremely knowledgeable and can help you with anything; piercings, jewelry, stretching, adjustments, ANYTHING!!! They are especially talented at dermal anchors, the one-point sub-dermal piercing that can be placed almost anywhere and is nearly painless. I LOVE ROBOT.

Pros: walk-ins welcome, gentle, friendly, knowledgeable, great jewelry selection

Cons: NONE
