I'm the daughter of 3 mechanics (yes, 3), and living so far from that network of free auto repair, it PAINS me to have to pay actual money to get my car worked on. However, since I've started going to Scott Sherman, I have to say that I have felt no remorse about shelling out repair and maintenance dollars. Knowing how a lot of shady mechanics work, and knowing more about cars myself than most shops would give a girlie girl like me credit for, I can honestly say that I would refer ANYONE to Scott Sherman with confidence that they would never ever try to cheat anyone, even the most naive customer. They tell you what your car needs, but don't ever try to push for more than the essential. If you car does actually need a total overhaul, they give you good recommendations for how to do things in phases, should you not be able to afford everything all at once. They also make it super convenient to keep your life happening while your car is in the shop through their convenient pick-up and drop-off service, and free roadside assistance program. I can't recommend Scott Sherman highly enough. Much less money than taking your car to the dealer, and much higher integrity than most shops I've seen in my lifetime.

Car broke on freeway. Being from Redmond and with no referrals, the tow-truck dropped me at Sherman's. I felt really at their mercy, couldn't go for a second opinion, etc. (I was releived to see some good referrals on this City Search.) Result: great service, great work with a complex set of issues and a very fair price. So, I was motivated to share my experience.

Starting from the front desk with Michael to the GM who gave me a ride to work - Scott Sherman knows how to take care of their customers. My co-worker referred them to me and they gave me a competive quote and explained everything. I have a newer model Toyota Tacoma, so it shoudn't be that hard to work on, which is exactly what they told me. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Cons: Nothing

The best service I ever had. They really understand how to take care of customers and my Tahoe! They went through my car thoroghly and told me in detail everything that was needed and helped me decide what to do right now. The truck is running great. They also gave me a great Customer Care PRogram for free. This included a rewards card with money for a later service, roadside assistance and a national warranty. They also told me they will send me a note when to come in based on how I drive and the manufacturers schedule...awesome! I hadn't thought to write a review until I received a follow up phone call from a third party asking me about the service so they can make improvements to their business...they really understand how to take care of vehicles and people. Great Job!!

On Wednesday July 25th 2007 I dropped my car off with Chris Lobkovich the manager at Scott Sherman Automotive and requested he inspect the car for its overall integrity and notify me of any repairs or maintenance it may need. He told me they would perform a comprehensive "Prebuyer's Inspection" for $94.00. Later that day I authorized Chris to perform several repairs or other maintenance for which he had provided estimates. Friday afternoon, Chris called me to say the work was completed and the car was ready to pick up.

About 3 blocks from the shop I noticed the clock was not displaying the correct time. I turned the stereo on and was disappointed to discover the display read ??Code? and the stereo was inoperable. I called Chris and he asked me to bring the car back to the shop. Upon my return, Chris told me there was a code that was necessary to unlock the stereo because they had had to disconnect the battery for some of the work. I soon found out that in order to get the code they would have to get the serial number from the stereo. This involves removing a substantial portion of the center console. While I was waiting, I went into the office and told Chris that I was disappointed that I had been told the car was ready to go when it was not. He apologized and stated he was also disappointed that this detail was overlooked. I told him that my confidence in his mechanics and the inspection and maintenance they had performed had been undermined.

When the console was reassembled and the stereo was operational, Chris gave me a business card with the radio code on it in case I should need it in the future. He then added ??If you are going to question the integrity of my mechanics I would appreciate not having you as a customer in the future.? I attempted to ask him if he could understand the way I felt concerning the situation, but he interrupted me saying, ??It only took 20 minutes and you??re on your way, what??s the problem?? I then reminded him that I had been waiting for nearly an hour after I returned to the shop. He then said, ??I??m sorry!? in a loud voice, turned his back to me and walked away.

On Friday, August 10th I noticed steam coming from under the hood of my car. When I opened the hood there was coolant all over the radiator and engine compartment. The following morning I took the car to a local repair shop and was told the radiator had a crack in it and would need to be replaced. They also recommended the air filter be replaced as well as a brake fluid and power steering flush. I personally inspected the air filter and found it to be obviously dirty and clogged. These are all items I feel should have been inspected by the mechanic when the performed the Prebuyer's Inspection.

It is now very difficult for me to take it on faith that a complete inspection of my car was performed, or that the repairs I authorized were actually done.

I sent the owner of Scott Sherman Auto a certified letter stating my concerns and requesting he take the car back and assure me I was getting what I paid for in the first place. I also informed him that in the meantime I had disputed the charge to my credit card and would only reauthorize it when I was satisfied the work was completed.

The following afternoon I received a call from Jeremy Barrie the owner. He agreed to take the car for a day and have his mechanic make sure they had done what the promised. He then asked me how I planned to pay for the repairs since I had disputed the charge on my credit card. I said I would reauthorize the charge to my Discover card. He told me that he would not accept that and I would have to bring the full amount in cash. I told him that was absurd and there was no way I was going to pay in cash, as that was the only protection I had from being swindled. I am no longer willing to negotiate with Jeremy Barrie as I do not believe he is acting in good faith.

I have now taken the car to another shop and they had to remove the timing belt because Scott Sherman replaced it incorrectly and overtightened it as well. I should never have gone to Scott Sherman. It as absolutely the WORST customer service experience of my life.

I have been a customer of Scott Sherman Automotive for the last few years, and I have received nothing but outstanding service. Both the owner, Jeremey, and the manager, Chris actually care about their customers and have always provided me with honest estimates and good service. It's not surprising that they recently moved to a much bigger location. Scott Sherman Automotive has been around for several years and I will continue to take my car there to benefit from their great service.

Pros: Open 7am to 6pm, open on Saturdays, free rides when you have to leave your car, service reminders, great customer service

We've taken our two older cars (14 & 17 years old) to Scott Sherman for many years. They won our business by repairing our old truck after two dealerships could not determine the problem even though the truck quite running in front of their shop! Scott Sherman now has an 18 month warrantee on their work. They are also quick with nearly all all repairs being completed in one day. The only draw back is that they are a bit expensive. Almost any repair will be $250 or more.

PROS: Good Work, Good Guarantee, Friendly
CONS: On the Expensive Side
