Best Vet I have ever been to, I have been to alot. Figure for every 1 bad comments here there is 1000 happy customers. Usually happy customer dont leave reviews. That hospital Has great doctors very knowledgable. Whenever I call in with an emergency they walk me through step by step over the phone. The doctors tell the nureses exactly what to tell you over the phone. And saved me lots of money from having to come in. (How many busniesses do you know of that would help you so they could not make the money) The nurses are so nice to my dog. Treats during shots and comforting the dogs. I have been comming here for 8 years. HIGHLY reccomended. Dont go during busy ours if you can help it. Call in advance and ask for the wait time. In and out Hamburgers always has a long line. So does this place. People know quality when they see it

I can not say enough about this office. The staff are amazing. I have various different species of animals and have been using their services for over 7 years. If you need a great vet Dr. Flanagan is the way to go.

I have a mixed feelings about this hospital. As mentioned in another review, there are a LOT of doctors, so you rarely get to see the same one twice. Sometimes a doctor that you saw the week before will have no recollection of ever having seen you before. Ditto for front office people. I agree, they are COLD, nasty, impersonal, and will ignore people who need help. You have to sign in and wait for EVERYTHING, even if just to pick up a prescription refill. I once waited over 30 minutes to buy cat food, because I had to "wait my turn." When I complained that the other people were waiting for doctors, and I only wanted to buy some Science Diet, the girl behind the counter said in the snottiest tone, "What's your problem ma'am?" On the plus side, the hours are convenient. They are open seven days, with early morning hours on the weekdays. However, GO EARLY. Parking spaces are very limited. Also a plus - they treat exotics, including birds and ferrets. Bottom line, it's crowded and chaotic. If you like to have a relationship with your vet, and would like them to remember your name, go someplace else.

I had my 8 month old male cat neutered here. I went to this vet because Los Feliz Small Animal Hospital quoted me a price of at least $350. They also wanted to keep him overnight.

I am HAPPY that I chose SCAH. My cat's operation went quite well. The establishment was clean with a professional staff. This is the fourth day of my cat's recovery and he is doing great. He is not licking his incision and seems back to normal.

The cost for my cat turned out to be $280, and that is including one of those implanted chips in case he gets lost.

I would definitely recommend this vet to my friends. I think my cat would as well =)

I??ve been taking my dogs to SCAH for over seven years. I used to love them and recommended them to many people; however, I??ve become increasingly dissatisfied with the level of care they offer. Recently an incident I observed when I had my dogs in for vaccinations caused me to switch vets.

A man with an 18 year old cat was in the waiting area. The cat was obviously quite ill, and it was plain to see that this guy adored his cat. In front of everyone in the waiting area, one of the women at the front desk announced to this guy, Greg, that although the cat had been treated there before and was now experiencing kidney failure and was in need of treatment, they were denying treatment because he had a $1,200 balance on his account from the last time the cat was ill.

Greg said that he knew there was a balance, but that he??d been paying $50/month for the past seven months, which was all he could afford and would they please treat his cat. The lady at the desk agreed that indeed he had been paying regularly but that just wasn??t good enough. Greg said that he could put down another $100 right then, but that was all he had. Still not good enough for SCAH. At that point, an older woman who was there with a dog stood up, went to the counter and asked how much he??d have to put down in order for them to treat Greg??s cat. They said $500. So, this very kind lady wrote a check for $400, adding it to Greg??s $100. Greg was in tears he was so grateful and SCAH took the older woman??s money and agreed to treat the sick cat.

I??m sorry, but there is so much wrong with that scene, that I was repulsed and will never go back. First, there was absolutely no reason for this to be done out in the open in front of a packed waiting area. Then, I know $1,200 is a large balance, but it was clear that Greg wasn??t delinquent on his account. I find it just awful that SCAH would deny treatment to a sick animal under these conditions. Finally, while that other lady was certainly generous, it was shameful of SCAH to take her money on behalf of another patient.

I know that SCAH isn??t a non-profit charity. But this was just completely heartless and, frankly, it illustrates what I??ve grown to despise about SCAH. They just don??t care like they used to. My furbabies deserve better. So do yours.

OH MY GOD! I thought that this was supposed to be one of the best, but I was advised wrongly. I've been to them about 3 times, only because I haven't found time ti find another vet that is suitable to my standards yet. This hospital is so COLD. It was like dealing with the children of the corn or zombies or something. Are the staff former druggies from the 70s? They were NOT AT ALL personable! And they were so DULL-HEADED and kind of MEAN. Anytime I had a question for them, they didn't know what I was talking about! And they were not friendly at all! You have SEVERAL people working there, yet they ignore you alot. One time, I was standing there to pay for the visit, and this one nurse/assistant just completely ignored me! She didn't even say, "one moment" or anything. She just kept walking back and forth right in front of my face and out of her desk area. She was even AVOIDING eye contact with me! She wasn't doing anything though except walking back and forth!

They didn't even allow me to see that my pet was getting her shots. At my old vet in Pelham, NY, he was so personable and professional and he had so many patients and maybe one or two people working at the front desk and he allowed me to see everything he was doing. His staff was extremely informative and answered my questions properly.

This last time I left my dog at Studio City, CA they didn't even allow me to talk to or see the vet to discuss the problems and REASONS I even brought my pet there! Don't they even want to know WHY I brought my pet?? I left my pet at that hospital feeling very scared when I got home. I have never felt fear before. I DO NOT trust these people at all! People come in feeling very worried about their beloved pets and this Studio City staff has NO CLUE how to accomodate the owners who are paying HUNDREDS of dollars for their services! And I think they OVERCHARGE way too much! I will NEVER recommend this AWFUL hospital! Another time, I saw one elderly wealthy man almost put under extreme fear and guilt because the vet was questioning him about his pet's problems in a way that would worry anyone too much. It was scary!

I give this animal hospital an "F" FOR THE WORST STAFF EVER! Whenever I call them asking them questions about my pet or regarding the appointment, they don't even know what I'm talking about!! I cannot believe how DUMB they come off!! Another time they kept mistaking my pet for another pet and almost gave my pet the wrong surgery papers!!!

I mean I leave my pet not longer than a few minutes ago and when I call them regarding the care of my pet, they have no clue about my pet! TALK ABOUT EXTREME MEMORY LAPSE! Is there something in the air or water in California that makes people act like ROBOTS! It was exacty like that at Studio City animal Hospital. Dealing with ROBOTS over there! It's very worrisome. You wonder if they're dong they're jobs because they give you NO info on what is happening or going to happen to your pet!

I would recommend going to Pelham Animal Hospital in NY. The vet there is excellent! In the beginning of moving to California, I would ONLY take my pet to the vet in Pelham whenever I would go back to NY. I didn't do it intentionally at the time. But one of the Pelham staff members joked and asked if I was coming to NY just to take my pet to THEIR vet. At first I said, "no" and that I just happened to be in NY whenever my pet's exam time came up and just by coincedence i hadn't found a vet in CA yet.

I think I am either going back to NY to take my pet to the Pelham Animal Hospital from now on or I will have to do an extensive search for a more reliable and PERSONABLE and TRUSTWORTHY vet & staff here in Los Angeles County.

My poor baby. I hope my pet's okay. I'm worried about her and the staff didn't say or do anything to inform me or console me or make me not worry about my beloved one, at all! IT'S LIKE THEY DON'T EVEN CARE! Atleast fake it, instead of being so COLD-HEARTED and UN-INFORMATIVE to the HIGH PAYING pet owners!!! I felt that they were extremely RUDE! And they say NYers are rude. Gimme a break! Studio City Animal Hospital is not personable at all and have quite a dumb staff!!! Are these all valley girls or something? Good Lord!

What this place did to our dog is inexcusable! What should have been a small emergency case of rest and re-hydration for a dog has turned into a life and death situation exacerbated by a vet too incompetent to actually care for our dog. If you value your pet I would stay far away from SCAH!

While my husband and I were out of town this week (04/05/08), we put our dog in "day care." While he was there he stopped eating/drinking. The day care felt that it was an emergency and took him to SCAH.

We rushed back to town as fast as we could and taken to the back of the animal hospital where we found our dog in a kennel with an IV in his paw, soaking in his own urine. We were pretty horrified about the state of our pet. The back of the animal hospital was total chaos, we could not find the attending vet and the staff could not be bothered to assist us.

We had to leave our dog overnight so that he could be re-hydrated. When we came back the next day we were presented with a bill that included a charge for "wound cleaning/clipping." We couldn't believe it! We were never told that the dog had any wounds and when we questioned it we were told it was for treating hotspots and scald.

The vet never bothered to mention that while they allowed our dog to soak in his own urine he was getting excruciating, infected bedsores. When the dog was finally brought out to us he had been shaved over a third of his body and was covered in red, infected blisters. He could not walk at all and looked like he had been run over by a car.

The staff treated us with plenty of attitude, the vet acted as if we were wasting his time and we were presented with an enormous bill (which included unnecessary tests). We were then given back our dog in such terrible condition that we thought we were going to have to put him down. We're still not sure if he's going to make it.

Studio City Animal Hospital helped us greatly very recently with our sick Cat. They quickly were able to asset exactly what was wrong with her and what was needed. They are true animal lovers and have a clean office that handles emergency visit well.

They gave wonderful care to my two senior cats. Dr. Flanagan and Dr. Sykes (the primary vets for each of them) have been terrific through a series of major problems. Each cat came down with a major problem totally different from the other at almost the same time, and their treatment was thorough and caring, and they were always ready to explain or re-explain the diagnosis and treatment options when I got confused from the stress of having two crises simultaneously. I felt every test was justified and I was so grateful to have a clear diagnosis. And in my experience, the prices were reasonable and accommodating. The technicians and office staff were caring and attentive as well. This is the best vet by far that I have found since I moved to the San Fernando Valley, and equal or better than any I've ever had.

This facility has very good people. Their credentials are matched by their attitude as fellow animal lovers. From routine exams and feline medical needs-to a terrible moment in my life when my cat had to be euthanized due to an inoperable cancer... These folks actually shared my grief, and made the terrible day as easy as can be. They do have a lot of Dr's, the advantage there is over multiple visits with a hard to diagnose affliction-You get the second (or third) opinion right there. With all due respect to another rather negative review-To me, that multiplicity of doctors is a is a HUGE plus.

10 y.o. cat, never been sick...suddenly DIES after receiving tx. here (AND after I spent over $5k for no apparent reason)? Flanagan is fine, THE AEC young male blonde doctor is the one who killed her...(Which is quite a mystery since she was fine when I spoke to Dr. Flanagan before he went off duty at 6 p.m. and by 9:30 p.m. the AEC doctor told me she suddenly "Wasn't doing so well and was not going to make it..." UM, WHAT!!!!!!?????? I STILL do not have ANY explanation for her sudden deterioration nor cause of death; (But then again the dr. at AEC was so worried about playing with his personal dog that he'd brought to work that night and the rest of the AEC staff so focused on getting their take-out food order together it didn't leave a lot of time left to focus on the care of my cat who clearly was not a priority).
I have had an autopsy performed and will keep you posted on this forum re: my complaints to the CA. Vet Medical Board and outcome of future legal action. In the interim, if you care at all about your pet please stay away from this hospital and their "Partner" Animal Emergency Center next door.

I'll make this short & sweet - but i've been going here with my cats (3) for 14 years - Dr. Flannagan is one of the best Dr.'s i've ever come across - he's sweet - he's caring, he LOVES the animals and he's smart as they come. Their staff is every bit as sweet and caring - i've NEVER met any indifference at this lovely vet. If you have a cat - u have to take him to Dr. Flanagan. That said - I've found all the doctors there to be absolutely exceptional. Truly. Also - if your cat is thrwing up and diarehing a lot - i reccomend PEDIA LITE - my GOD did it perk up my cat after all that throwing up - i just put it in a bowl and she actually finishes the bowl.

On April 17, 2007, our family did the hardest thing we have ever done, we put our loving Cocker spaniel, Oliver Jay of 15-1/2 years to sleep.

Everyone at Studio City Animal Hospital, we loving, supportative, compassionate and wonderful. They took us right away when we came in, and talked us through the entire process. Ollie was comfortable, and happy, even though he was very sick. We had to wait for our daughter to come, and they were very patient with us. They left us alone with Ollie to morn his passing.... Thank you everyone for being there for us. They have been our vet for over 11 years, and we have another Cocker spaniel named Harry, who they take very good care of. We love you all, and thank you again for helping to make the most difficult decision anyone who has a pet has to make.

I have been raising dwarf hamsters form over 10 years and always take them to the docs at SCAH. I think they are one of the few vets (if not the only one in the Valley that I know of) that see animals besides cats and dogs. I have only had a problem with one of their staff members in the 10 years. Otherwise all their docs and techs are very knowledgable when it comes to my little babies. I have had to put down a few of my babies because they were untreatable but the staff were always there with a hug and understanding during my greif.

This is a great place for people who are unable to get veterinary appointments because they themselves are working during those hours. (And most vet offices are closed by the time you get off of work.) Now, I am not recommending it as a everyday solution as they are much more expensive than your regular vet. But you pay for the convenience of being able to take you pet during late and am hours. We have had several emergencies with our senior cat that required immediate attention. If not for this hospital I don't know what we would have done. The staff there has always been beyond friendly and the vets are wonderful! They are very kind and understanding, and do their very best to help your pet. One vet there actually had to repair a botched surgery our "regular" vet (at the time) had done on our cat. Our cat would not have been able to get the immediate care she needed if their hours were not so accomodating. I definitely recommend them but, again, just be aware that the cost will be much higher than regular hour vets.
