Moviebrat Movies Books-Posters

I happened to discover this place by accident since it was only half a block from my work. As a big time movie fan, discovering this store came as a pleasant surprise. As a "hole in the wall" place, it's easy to miss.

The store carries a large selection of posters, books, and a small selection of used DVDs as well. The posters and books cover a huge variety of films going back several decades. Additionally, the content in the store isn't limited to movie-related stuff - there are plenty of music-related posters and books as well. The book selection is suprisingly good and well-priced, and the books carried by the store range from movie star biographies to everything else, from dog training to cookbooks. Weird, yes, but the more variety the better.

The owner is extremely friendly and always willing to help out customers or chat about things. This is a refreshing improvement over independent-run shops in this town with horrible owners - and believe me, there are a LOT of them (Rich Rosen of Wax Trax Records comes to mind.) If you're running an independent shop like this, take note - the man here does it right.

My only complaint (and it's a minor one) is that there aren't a whole lot of actual movies (on DVD) for sale. However, considering this is marketed as a POSTER store, I can't really complain about that.

If you live in or are visiting the Vegas Valley, do yourself a favor and check this place out. It's an excellent store and gets this reviewer's highest recommendation.
