The facials and skin care routine that owner Marion introduces to me are fabulous and produce results! Don't waste your money on Burke-Williams or other spa "factories" that don't do much more than provide you with some quiet time. Marion and her staff are friendly, knowledgable and exactly what you need for beautiful, glowing skin now and in the future. LOVE!!!!!!!!

I am new to LA and have been getting facials for a few years. I did a ton of research and tried a few places in LA and was so happy to find Skin Sense. Miriam is extremely knowledgeable and has been in the skin care business for over 20 years. Their products and services are top-of-the line and their prices are reasonable. I am thrilled to have found such a place that not only has impeccable quality, but truly enjoyable people!

I've been afraid of facials for a long time, even when I've mentioned that I have mild acne rosacea & very sensitive skin, in the past I've always broken out afterwards. Not this time! Nancy was great, very gentle & honest, asked about my normal regimen including my diet, and I like that more holistic approach. Gave me samples but didn't try to sell me anything. Very nice, quiet, friendly atmosphere. And a nice cozy blanket during the facial, too!

This is my first review...EVER! But I felt it deserved a mention after 5 years of coming here. I'm really paranoid about where I get facials because getting a bad facial is not like getting a bad manicure or wax. I was told by my aunt in London who is an experienced esthetician that you have to be so careful when it comes to your skin. Skin Sense was recommended to me by a number of trustworthy sources and so I gave it try. I was so impressed. Firstly they are the nicest friendliest people. But more importantly they really do know all about skin. Not only do they give the best facials but they are all very experienced and they really are up to date with all the new things on the market. I am now a regular and I would definitely recommend you give them a try.

.... Miriam and her team have worked magic on my skin, I have suffered from mild acne since my early 30's and its been clear ever since i started visiting Skin Sense. I even travel from NY to get a facial.
They Use great products, have a really mellow friendly enviroment and the services are fantastic.

Skin Sense is a hidden gem... in Los Angeles, a town where fads and passing trends are a known fact. Forget five stars, Skin Sense is five stars plus! Marion Simms gives one of the best facials I have ever had. After one visit, I consider myself to be added to her long-term client list. From the minute you walk in the door, you are greeted with warmth and genuine attention! I cannot recommend Skin Sense enough.

I had an amazing facial with Marion... She was so kind and thorough.... She looks at your diet, lifestyle choices and how that affects your skin which I really appreciate. I have had a fair share of facials throughout my life and this was the best so far!! So relaxing, nurturing.... and my skin was glowing afterwards. More than that, my skin felt soooo clean!! Everyone I met who works there is so sweet and helpful.
They did not push their products on me... they allowed me to work within my budget and they offer great sized samples to try if you want to go that route as well. Everything about my experience there was fabulous!

I have problem skin--acne cysts. My friend suggested that I get a facial from Marion, and boy, am I very pleased! My skin has not broken out once since seeing her almost two weeks ago. She gave me a detox facials that was gentle and refreshing. I love how she believes in good quality foods for your skin and she encourages exercise as a benefit for skin also. Definitely looking forward to my next appointment!

Had my first facial at Skin Sense today with Nancee. To begin with, she's been with the company 20 years, so that should say something in and of itself. She was very knowledgeable and careful with my skin. 6 weeks ago I had this completely random breakout of rosacea (never had skin issues before) and Nancee not only tailored my treatment around the condition, but she also was very informative about the pros and cons of the meds I was given. The facial itself was above and beyond the norm with several serums, masks and treatments in successive layers as well as the traditional steam, extractions and fantastic massage. Additionally they use an antibacterial wand that was perfect for what I needed. Best of all, I was given samples and info about various products she believed would suit me, but without the hard sell. I will definitely go back.

My recent facial from Marion Simms of Skin Sense was beyond any skin care experience I've had before. And after several years of battling my skin, I've experienced quite a bit! I've seen some of the most well known dermatologists and estheticians in LA and not one compares to the level of service, expertise and care I received from Marion.

Marion's knowledge of skin, products, treatment approaches and wellness in general is unparalleled as far I'm concerned. I left her spa not only with a visible "glow" on my face, but feeling a glow inside because Marion has truly given me hope that I can indeed achieve beautiful skin.

The added bonus of my experience was that the moment I walked through the door I was greeted with warmth and kindness from the staff. There's not an ounce of attitude to be had in the place and the facility is cozy, clean and professional. Without a doubt, I will be returning.

Marion Simms gave me an exceptional moisturizing facial following a disastrous time in the sun, with sun burn and dehydration. With thanks to her magical hands I was able to face the world with a glowing, moisturized skin. She is a miracle worker!

I was referred to Joanne at Skin Sense for a massage, and it was the most relaxing massage I've ever experienced. She was so polite, so professional, and has magical hands. I was completely rejuvenated and revived. I have been back several times and each time is an amazing experience. I am a hairdresser and on my feet all day so I really need a massage therapist who can meet all my physical healing needs and Joanne is just the one to get your body just like new. I am hooked on this treatment and will be a forever client of Joanne. I highly recommend Joanne to anyone who loves to be treated like royalty and needs TLC.

My wife had a facial with Marrion and said that she loved it! She gets them every few weeks, and she said that she's for sure going to back to SkinSense again... I stopped into the spa myself just to check it out, and it seems warm and friendly, and the free tea was yummy too!

OK . . . I'll admit it . . . it was my very first facial ever, so maybe I don't have grounds for comparison. What I do know is that no massage, no acupuncture, no hypnotherapy session has ever made me feel more relaxed, more nurtured, more alive, or more euphoric than the AMAZING facial that Marion (the owner of more than 20 years now) provided for me. I also attended one of their aromatherapy seminars, and it's just obvious that Marion attracts the most amazing people as staff members and presenters. Just delightful. You deserve the treat . . . so go.

When I moved to LA 17 years ago, I asked someone where I should get a facial, & was steered to the right place: Skin Sense. Nancee has been my mainstay ever since. I had my first-ever mani-pedi w/Marla (I don't like people touching my feet...) & now am a regular (& trust me, my feet look A LOT cuter than they used to!). Vicki gives a gentle & thorough wax. Kathryn at the front desk is a total doll & makes the best cuppa tea outside of Ireland. And Marion is a lovely businesswoman -- she is always friendly, generous, accommodating. Skin Sense is like a family, they remember my kids' names, are funny, sweet, and do a superb job at taking care of my skin & my bod & my self. A rare experience, and full-on recommended. Thank you, ladies!

I have had the opportunity to get a massage, a facial and even a pedicure at Skin Sense and would recommend their service to anyone looking for a break from the regular grind of Los Angeles. I have since learned that most of the staff have been there a long time which speaks volumes to me as to the atmosphere they have created. I highly recommend Skin Sense.

My only expperience having a facial was at a fancy shmancy Beverly Hills storefront spa that a client gave me as a gift and it was not anything special. That is NOT the case at Skin Sense. I just got a facial by its owner, Marion Simms and had a truly wonderful experience. She guides you through the entire facial with her calm soothing British voice and really explains what she does and why she does it. Her lavender hued spa is a great place to spend an hour or two of your hectic schedule and you'll look and feel great after.

I had the pleasure of having my first facial experience with Marion Simms at Skin Sense and it was amazing.

The facilities are top-notch and the service is exquisite. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt right at home. The treatment itself was wonderful. I didn't know what to expect, but Marion walked me through the entire process and made it a wonderful experience. When I left, I was in such a relaxed state, that I just wanted to get home and curl up with a good book.

I've had a couple more treatments since then and the service has been consistently terrific. I highly recommend getting to Skin Sense to start the year off right.

So, I spent about the last year or so getting brazilian waxes at Pink Cheeks, after a friend recommended it for their ability to get you in and out in 5 minutes flat. I continued to go there only because of the speed at which the unpleasant experience was over with. Never mind the fact that they don't wear gloves, and they use strip wax on the most sensitive area of your body which rips out skin and hair alike. Well, then a friend recommended trying Skin Sense and so I did. All I can say is that I am extremely disappointed I didn't know about this place sooner! I can honestly say that Vicki actually made the experience a positive one. The spa was extremely clean and the atmosphere relaxing and comfortable, she wore gloves, and she used a special sugar wax that is peeled off instead of ripped off, thus only taking out hair (not skin) which is the kind of wax that should be used on that area of your body. Being a person with sensitive skin, this kind of waxing left my skin smooth and barely red at all. It hurt about a thousand times less than Pink Cheeks method did, and when I left I didn't even feel like anything had been done, that's how much less painful it is. I recommend this place to first timers and also to people who have been doing it for years-- you will be very pleased with the results.

The best hydro dremie facial I have had and I have been having them for over 10 years. I love Guinot products but in the hands of Marion she
knows skin care and how our lifestyles effect skin glow.

I started going to Nancee at Skin Sense long before internet reviews existed so this review is a long time coming. Not every salon is as adept at putting you at ease as Skin Sense and this is especially true for men. I was a little nervous that first time so long ago despite having gone for facials since I was just a wee lad ( well, okay.. a teenager ). The environment is immediately relaxing and the professional staff from reception to departure is a rarity in most businesses these days. I can't say what services I use ( that's strictly on a need to know basis ) but I can tell you it's a pleasure to be pampered so luxuriously for such a paltry sum compared to some of the other salons in town. Men are finally starting to care for themselves properly and Skin Sense is there to make it a comfortable, professional and enjoyable experience so if you still have doubts go and see for yourself but don't say I didn't warn you. You'll be hooked!

You're missing out if you haven't been to Skin Sense. While spas are "in" in SoCal, Skin Sense is the real deal. Marion Simms' excellent establishment gives you a truly personal experience and they have only your best interests at heart. Her staff are all highly talented and excellent in their fields. I see Nancee for a variety of treatments (facials, waxing, etc) and she is always brilliant. She is extremely knowledgable, thoughtful, considerate, and simply terrific at what she does. I always leave her feeling refreshed, cleansed, groomed, and better all over! I have sent many friends to Nancee, all of whom have thanked me profusely for the recommendation. At Skin Sense, the prices are reasonable, the service exemplary, and the environment so peacelul in a bustling city. If you haven't been to Skin Sense, I highly recommend a visit!

Excellent!!!! I have been a Skin Sense client for four years now. I see Nancee for monthly facials, but all of the staff is top notch and very sweet and personable. I had had problem skin for years, but now that I have Nancee and the great wisdom of Skin Sense my skin just glows! She varies her facials month to month based on weather changes, hormonal issues going on (pregnancy).. etc. She is very knowledgeable in what she does and recommends the very best in skin care products for her clients. I have never been talked into buying useless products that would not benefit the health or glow of my skin. The staff is very nice, the spa is very clean and has a serene and relaxing atmosphere. I recommend this to anyone who is serious about their skin and wants a true professional approach to taking care of it!!!!

I am not one to usually write reviews, but when I have consistently experienced such superb service, without exception, from an establishment for over 17 years, I feel I cannot let that go unmentioned. I am somewhat of a ?spa junkie? and have been to spas all around the world ? some of the most famous & respected, in fact ? but the Day Spa/Wellness Center that Marion Simms and her staff at Skin Sense have created is like none I have ever experienced ? and they have done that by their expertise, as well as by their personal care & attention toward me each time I walk through their door. They have truly managed that difficult task of melding professionalism, warmth and generosity, which are the intangibles that contribute so much to my spa-going experience. First of all, I trust Marion implicitly in knowing how to treat my skin. I have had difficult skin all of my life and, as a commercial actor, my livelihood has depended to a big extent on how my skin looks. Marion has not only been able to ?calm down? my skin, but has also taught me how to care for it in a really easy & manageable way ? and that?s great for me, because I don?t like fussing with products or time-consuming ?skin care? routines. And the irony now is that people often comment on what great skin I have! Who would?ve thunk it ? for a guy who was known as ?acne face.? And, Marion?s technical brilliance aside, just getting pampered and being in Skin Sense?s clean, aesthetically-pleasing & calming environment is reason enough to keep coming back. All of these elements, as well as Marion and her staff, make it so easy for me to ?check my problems at the door,? so that I always leave Skin Sense feeling relaxed and rejuvenated ? and I know that that relaxed feeling has contributed so greatly to the success I have had living in Los Angeles.

The moment you walk into Skin Sense you feel welcomed and relaxed. Everything about the spa is first class, but not pretentious. The staff is friendly and professional. Marion Simms has been taking care of my problem skin for over 14 years and I could'nt be more pleased. I had teenage acne well into my fifities, and now people actually tell me that I have lovely skin. Who would have thought?

I see Marion on a regular basis and use the products she recommends. My sisiter, neice, husband and lots of friends see Marion and all are quite pleased with her services.

The time that I spend with Marion is a time to rest, relax, listen to lovely background music, be pampered and leave with clean, glowing, beautiful looking skin. Who can ask for anything more!

It is clear that the last review was by someone who never visited Skin Sense. Everthing stated in that review is not only mean, but untrue. Probably written by a jealous competitor.

There are countless day spas in Los Angeles, but only one SKIN SENSE. I highly recommend it!

I get the feeling that people who rate this place highly have not been anywhere else. Honestly it is not impressive, from the lack of curb appeal to the outdated, cheesy interior, there are so many better places out there that give the full experience. I feel they don't put forth the effort to keep up with current ingredients and treatments, instead they rely on "European techniques" which really means heavy facial massage, old-school gadgets, and perfumey products. I did not get anything here that I could not have gotten at home, and did not feel radically relaxed or transformed when I left, which I DO get from a great place. You can see my other reviews for details. Sorry, I find this place unimpressive and they need to update into the new century!!

I haven't had a facial in years so I was a little nervous about going to a new place but I was referred to Nancy and she was amazing. The staff was accomadating and I got a discount from mentioning City search. The only drawback is that I left smelling like a cucumber sandwhich (one of the mask's extracts is from cucumer seeds.)
Seriously, your complexion wil thank you.

They offer a wide variety of services and I got everything I wanted. I got a facial, wax, body scrub, tan, and an hour long, full body massage. The prices were very fair and the staff knew what they were doing. They were extremely friendly too. What a pleasant change from some places in LA. I was relaxed and left refreshed, happy, and with another appointment already scheduled. I have found my regular spot, for sure!!! Thanks Vicky, Joanne, and Cathrine!

The staff at Skin Sense are very warm and professional. you can be sure that when you go you'll leave happy. I just moved to LA and was trying to find a good place for waxing etc. and was unpleased with a few spots. That was until I found skin sense. Now it's the only place I go to for all my beauty needs

There is no question that Marion Simms and her staff are some of the best aestheticians around. If you have any doubts about visiting Skin Sense, banish them now. Just walking into her salon, one is immediatley put at ease. The sense of comfort and warmth extends throughout the whole visit. I've been a client for 20 years and would trust my skin to no other. Because of Marion, my skin is in great shape. There's nothing more I look forward to then visiting Skin Sense!!

As a guy, I always shied away from "skin care" salons and spas. Until I found Skin Sense that is. They really make you feel welcome here. And they do such a great job. Vicki, Marion, Katharine, and the whole crew make you feel very welcome and take such good care of you. I would recommend Skin Sense to anyone. I have several friends who go here for the various services, and we all agree, it truly is a great place! Parking can be a little tricky, so discreetly park at the Beverly Center across the street.

Her facials are both relaxing and educational - she's quick to share her expert advice and it's much appreciated. She also has a lovely manner about her and the most delightful British accent! Vicki did a very good, very thorogh waxing legs and bikini. They offer many services, and they are all very polite and kind.
I highly recommend skin sense, but leave yourself a little extra time for parking

A friend recommeded I try Marion for my facial. I was blown away. She is the owner and has been at this location for 15 years! I then when back and had one of the best massages ever by Joanne and my brazilian bikini wax by Vicki was almost painless. Definitley 5 star quality with very reasonable prices. I will be back!

I just starting using Citysearch after a friend of mine told me she found her new stylist on Citysearch. Well, I have to say that I have now found my new spa!! I went with the Day of Beauty No.1 and with be going back for more.
