To receive classes at this yoga center is better than going to India looking for the purest techniques. I've been to India several times attending yoga retreats and conferences, and what is offered here in Houston has nothing to envy to the most reputable yoga institutions over there. We have it here, right at our very own Houston, Texas.

I am in my fifties and always worried about aging. I had discovered since I started practicing yoga at The Devanand Yoga Center that there are many things I can do to slow the aging process. I am currently applying my new knowledge with my husband, and myself, and we are incredible happy with the results. My yoga instructor unconditionally shares this info with all the students in such a caring way. Certainly this yoga center is a very special place to be.

This is such a special center. I so much looked for a class of yoga that included much more than exercises. I did find it here. And i cannot say enough about how friendly everyone is. The poses flow so nicely - i felt like a soft noodle after the class! I had to write and recommend this center!!!

Instructors and other yoga students are all very welcoming and encouraging. Overall, the atmosphere is one of support and not in the least bit competitive. I would recommend this yoga center very much for students who are serious about all aspects of yoga.

I would like to say how much I have enjoyed this yoga class. I feel that they have shown how true tranquillity can be achieved and how to achieve this peace of mind through yoga.
These yoga classes stretch the body in a very positive, energising way.
This is a great achievement, especially when most of us work so hard in our every day lives.

The instructors lead all the classes with their own excellent quality examples and clear explanations of the poses, not just the names of the poses, but with clear explanations of the purpose of each pose, at the same time with gentle encouragement to strive for improvement and perfection for yourself. The environment and the chanting which begins each class is conducive to the spirit as well as the body to open to its potentials of itself.

This center has given me so much, in so many ways. I appreciate the instructors and the people i have met there. It is not your typical organization. They are there not for the money but for the love for yoga! I definitely recommend it!

The mission is to spread Yoga to all. All levels of classes are offered. The instructors are great and truly dedicated. Cost is extremely reasonable and scholarships are available.

You will not find a better instructor or atmosphere. The great thing about this facility is its emphasis on building body AND spirit, whatever that may mean to you. And the price cannot be beat!
