Dr. Huntington is very caring and kind. She is the only reason we took 2 of our dogs there. We take the other dogs elsewhere. The office staff is extremely rude. Be very careful of pricing - as others have said - they charge a lot and do tests that you have not asked for. They assume that you have a fortune to spend on your pet and make you feel like crap if you don't do the maximum (except Dt. Huntington). There are other vets in Windsor and Bloomfield that are just as good and charge less and don't make you feel like a bad pet owner. Both of our dogs have now died so we won't be going back there.
$600 for routing dog annual check up! Be careful with pricing. The staff was nice however we took our 2 dogs for their annual check ups and got a bill for close to $600.00! We were expecting the heartwork test, vaccines etc but instead they ran full panels of blood work for each dog! Make sure to ask about the cost upfront and what you are getting. Needless to say, we will not be going back.
Brought a litter of puppies here for their first shots. While the vet was very caring and nice, the information I got over the phone was deceptive. I asked about prices and if they would each get a "puppy pack" like my other vet gave last year. Well, the office visit was TWICE what I was told it was! And even though the girl on the phone said that yes, the pups would each get a puppy pack (first dose of HeartGuard, tag, coupon, etc), the vet said NOPE! I ended up purchasing the heartworm preventative (as well as flea preventative, which I planned to buy). If I were to ever go here again, I would have them fax the quote to me before my appointment. As for me, I'm going to stick with my honest vet practice in Enfield. Would have paid the same, but it wouldn't have been such a surprise. I guess that's what happens when you look to save a few bucks in this economy..
I can't say enough about this dedicated group of people. We've been coming here for years and will continue to do so.
Its a busy office and the staff never lose patience (or don't show it anyway) and treat each 'critter' special -as, of course, they are!
Its not inexpensive, but worth every penny to get top care for your four-legged family member.
I called Suffield Animal Hospital when my sons bird collapsed and died. As sad as it was I needed to find out why so the other birds in our house weren't in any danger. The staff there was very accommodating and sensitive. Needless to say the bird did not have a disease(she had heart failure) and we were able to get my son a new bird.
The team of veteriarians and staff at Suffield Veterinary Hospital are not only dedicated to serving their patients but also outstanding professionals in their fields of excellence. I have been entrusting my cat, Kesa, to their care for over 13 years. The Drs. are kind, helpful and honest. One of the veterinarians even specializes in caring for birds and avain medicine.
