Only use this company if:
- you want to wait more than 2 months for their service
- if you don't mind that they don't return your phone calls or reply to your e-mails
- you want to lose your original documents
If you still want to use their poor service, please pay them by credit card because then at least you can contest the charges made with your credit card company.
My advice, please stay away from them. Read all the reviews, everybody had the same kind of problem with them.
Here is my experience with them.
1. They sent my Evaluation with my name printed wrong although my originals are in English.
2.They gave me 2.4 GPA while my GPA is 3.0
Don't waste your time with them
En el mes de octubre del 2011, contrate los servicios de la empresa JOSEF SILNY & ASOCIATES, INC ubicada en 7101 SW 102 Ave Miami Florida , 33173 para traducir mis documentos de grado de bachiller y de universitario (notas, diplomas, certificados emitidos por el Ministerio de Educacion y su registro pertinente en el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores) para ser utilizados en US. Me atendio el Sr. Luis Garibaldi, empleado permanente de dicha empresa quien se encargo de realizar las mismas, con mucha dificultad .. No obstante que el Sr. Garibaldi se tomo mas del el tiempo estipulados por ellos y un sobreprecio fuera de lo presupuesto...EXTRAVIO MIS DOCUMENTOS y hoy 23 de Enero del 2012 ...aun no hay respuesta en donde se encuentran y tampoco una propuesta de reposicion de los mismos.
A mediados de Diciembre me acerque con mi esposo a las oficinas de dicha empresa, pues todo el tramite se realiza via correo pre-pagado, y nos atendio el Sr. en cuestion el que no supo que decir ni que hacer y su supervisor el Sr. Gustavo Mendez quien en ese momento nos atendio cordialmente ofreciendose a encargarse de la situacion personalmente. Mientras esperabamos que nos atendieran, fuimos testigos del MALTRATO que desde la recepcion, ofrecen a las personas que llevan sus documentos para ser traducidos legalmente. Estas personas como yo o como cualquier otro inmigrante, que requiere de estos servicios para poder estudiar o trabajar legalmente en este pais; se consiguen con este personal que no tan solo no es cordial sino que ademas, no son diligentes en las funciones para las que estan contratadas...
Asi pues luego de las promesas del Sr. Mendez, le di unos dias para que pudiera ofrecer una salida a tan terrible situacion...Propuesta que JAMAS LLEGO y que ademas de no devolver mis llamadas, sus emails son groseros y faltos de etica y por supuesto..de palabra!
Hoy 23 de Enero del 2012, me he enterado que los DIPLOMAS tanto de bachiller como de grado...SON UNICOS E IRREMPLAZABLES..las instituciones los emiten una vez en la vida y no mas.
Entonces...sin documentos y sin diplomas...en un pais que para ser "LEGAL" debes no tan solo demostrarlo sino que ademas ...sufrirlos!!!
CONSEJO: SI TIENES ALGO QUE TRADUCIR Y NO ESTAS EN TU PAIS,NO PIERDAS TUS DOCUMENTOS, NO TE DEJES MALTRATAR... EL SER INMIGRANTE NO LES DA DERECHO A QUE TE ATROPELLEN.... NO CONTRATES A : JOSEF SILNY & ASSOCIATES, INC...Aunque la recomendacion te la haya dado el college, universidad u otra institucion...!
Si no tienes nada que perder, puede ser que alguien que tu conozcas si..pegalo en tu muro y corre la voz...!!

Josef Silney is one of the worst companies that I had to deal with!!!! Not only they take forever (much longer than the promised 10 business days) but it also almost impossible to reach them. Be prepared to be on hold with them FOREVER and also most likely your question will not be answered. They just really don??t know what they are talking about.
The other thing they will ask you for your original transcripts, they won??t accept even the certified copy. So when you get your evaluation don??t expect to find your original papers in there. Those people will make you pay extra to get them back!!!
They also will send you only one copy of your evaluation. Your personal copy. In any reliable company you are expected to receive a personal copy and a copy in a sealed envelope for your University. Any additional copies will be extra. But not here. They will make you pay for the sealed copy.
The other thing is that their GPA is not included in the evaluation. All the other companies that I looked at include it.
At the end you have to pay way over $ 100 extra to get all you need in addition to a terrible service.
So do yourself a huge favor and DON??T USE Josef Silney. You will save money and get a much better service somewhere else. Just check what other companies your University uses and pick one of those.

I can honestly say that the customer service was so helpful and so friendly, I looked for different services and the ones that were cheaper took longer and are not accepted by many universities. The customer service was wonderful, they took ten business days, and the price is not bad at all. The only reason that person said HIDDEN FEES is because they did not read the application properly because i had NO problems with them what so ever. I totally recommend this company.
Everything is wrong with this organization - it is expensive, the service is slow, the receptionist does not care about anyone. Use another evaluation service if possible, this business needs to know that they are not the only one in town and that customers have the option to chose! So, chose another one!

Reading the latest reviews I just wanna ask "what the duck you guys talking about?" You probably never used WES (world educational service) instead. This is a scam!!!! That's when you are put on hold for 2(!!!!!!) hours at least!!!!
Josef and Silny are just AWESOME!!!! They do everything soooo professional, I called at least 6 times and never waited more than 2 minutes. They did everything by the time they promised and even wrote a nice judgement on my evaluation!
All the details of your evaluation can be tracked online with a name of a person and his contact who doe this evaluation for you.
I definitely reccomend this company to anybody who doesn't want to pay a lot and want the professional service.

Fast to collect money but does not deliver in their services
After 4 months since collected their money, I am still waiting for Service from them
You spend almost 30 minutes on hold and they always have an excuse I will not recommend it

This is the most unprofessional organization who hires the rudest and irresponsible employees.
1)No one will ever return you call
2)No one will ever respond to your email
3)Operator will refuse to connect you with the appropriate party
4)It took for my request 3 months to be processed and I only requested 2 additional copies of the evaluation report
5) By the way I was charged $70 upfront for this servise

7)Lady who is responsible for the customer service relationship, hang up the phone on me.

Cons: rude irresponsible expensive
I used the services in the past and they worked well. However, this time has been a nightmare. They notified me about a problem with my transcripts and when I tried to contact them, the person who answered refused to give more information, neither let me speak with the analyst assigned to my case.
I have sent several emails without any response.
By the way, the cost of services is the same as any other agency when the course description analysis hidden fee is taken into account.

I have used this provider's services many times before. For the most part, I was getting a good service. However, my experience in the past year has not been good at all. The staff is lacking customer service experience. When I requested a copy of my transcripts to be mailed to a specific school, the money was taken out of my account right away, and after a month of delay, I contacted them. They claimed that they had sent it, and my school never received it although the transcript I requested from them was one of 4 transcripts, which all made it to my school except the JSilny one. I keep calling them, every time I call, they would put me on hold for 30 minutes, and after that long of a wait, I get hung up at. I am a customer service Manager myself, and I definitely do not call this a Quality Customer Service. Please do not use their services because I do not want you to be a victim of their carelessness like I was.
