I can't believe nobody else has reviewed PAWS! They are great! the adoption center is really nice, nothing like I've ever seen before. It was quiet and did not smell like an animal shelter and the dogs have their own little rooms with a bed. The cats have a homey room with places to perch and view out the front windows.
I liked how they check references so they know the dog or cat is going to a good home, a lot of them have been abused or neglected in the past so it's important they will have a good new home. They sent us home with a free bag of food but we quickly switched to a better quality brand since Science Diet has corn fillers. They also gave us the speech on basic information on care and we got his medical records. It was a pretty simple process. I took him to the vet after about a week and he was healthy and had a clear fecal test so it shows they take good care of the dogs.
The only thing I was concerned about is the wait at the front desk was too long and I was concerned about how they keep the dogs in the little rooms and some of them had multiple dogs of different sizes. If they were sick it would spread and they could possibly get in fights in the room when nobody is there.
