Our various pets have been patients of Dr. Springer for many years, and we were very happy with Arlington Animal. However, Dr. Springer has cut back on his hours and we have had bad experiences with the other vets in the office. The office has taken on a different tone. It is now more about the money and the convenience of the staff than about the animals entrusted to their care. I will not go there again.
I love the Arlington Animal Clinic. Everyone has been extremely nice & helpful. Dr. Springer saved my cat's life. She was on death's door & had been to 3 previous vets who could not help her. He took the time & effort to figure out what was wrong with her & successfully treated her. He is a genius & very compassionate about serious illness - he is also great with the healthy animals & is caring for my dog & other cat as well. The cat who almost died is perfectly healthy today thanks to Dr. Springer.
I have been using Arlington Animal Clinic for almost 18 years for my 2 cats. Dr. Cole has been very sensitive and supportive in diagnosing my elderly cats ilnesses and even left surgery when it was time to euthanize one of my cats. She is very reqachable and returns calls. I am a receptionist and agree that the front dest staff can appear curt but are so busy that they can't always spend the extra time patients sometimes want. I highly recommend them.
Just brought my cat in for a first visit. I was very impressed with how they dealt with my cat--she was a hissing, spitting, scratching dervish as soon as we took her out of the pet taxi and her claws are VERY SHARP. They treated her with care and had good advice...and never once did I feel like they were trying to up sell me, which was definitely a feeling I got from different vets in the past. I'll be happy to go back for regular care for my beloved cat friend.
On a side note...one reviewer who's last name supposedly begins with 'D' needs to get a grip on reality. I read a lot of these user reviews...and reviews like Mr. D's drive me crazy. If you are going spend all that time to write such a detailed review--which seemed to be focused more on describing the physical attributes of the various receptionists and assistants than the veterinary care--at least have the decency to learn their names. They obviously made enough of an impact on you that you took the time to write that review. If yesterday was any indication, the office was extremely busy and the receptionist, Jean, did the best she could despite dealing with a busy office and a failing computer. Sorry, Mr D. that not everybody is willing to "clean up my dogs urine for me with a SMILE!!" Must be nice to live in your world.
the Arlington animal clinic is awesome. I was freaking out because my dog had a something gross growing near his mouth and he had bumps on his stomach. The doctor told me not to worry (you could most def tell i was freaking out) and he only had spring allergies. They even clipped out some knots I tried and didn't succeed to brush out. And they since my hands were full they gave me a bag to put all my stuff in so I could also carry my dog. =)
I have been extremely pleased with this vet practice. For 12+ years I had gone to a vet that was bought up by a chain, that then tried to sell tests and procedures that were ridiculous and seemed to boost their bottom line. Our vet is Dr. Wolcott-Shickler and she is caring, professional and a good vet. When I had to put one of my cats to sleep she was so empathetic (actually had tears too) and told me to leave, they'd send a bill. I haven't had bad experiences with the office staff.
I have been bringing my cat to Arlington Animal Clinic for over 7 years now and have always been happy with their vets. I usually end up bouncing from one to another, depending on who is free when I schedule my appointment and I have never had an issue with any of the doctors or nurses. I can understand why someone would have issues with their front desk help. I myself never have thankfully, but I have been witness... It does not stop me from going there. My husband brings his cat to another vet (in Cambridge) and although they are also very nice, they are more expensive then Arlington, with cost of appointments, medications and prescription food. I think that if Arlington Animal Clinic is close to you it's a great value and a great place.
20 years ago went to Arlington Animal Clinic with my dog and have now returned with my new dog. Dr. Springer is wonderful as well as the other vets and technicians. I do have to agree with other reviewers that the front desk staff is not so great. They are not very friendly and can be curt. It is too bad that they are he ones making first impressions with people but the vets are great and make it a good clinic.
I've been taking my dogs and cats to Dr. Springer for almost 20 years. He saw me through my first dog's death with incredible grace and kindness. Now he cares for my two dogs and cat with compassion-- and also with incredible expertise. No one could believe how tiny the incision was when I had my spaniel spayed -- but Dr. Springer uses the latest techniques and best methods.
I should add that I'm a nervous wreck over any procedures my dogs need to have, and Dr. Springer always takes the time to explain and reassure.
I'm just so grateful we have Dr. Springer to rely on!
Arlington Animal Clinic is the place to go for quality care. I have both cats and dogs and I can't say enough about the staff. The vets are caring and very knowledgable, as well as their assistants. Recently, I had to euthanize my pet and their concern for my pet and I, was superb. If you are looking for fancy digs, this is not the place for you. For great vets, this is the right choice.
I was new to this area, with three cats I love, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Arlington Animal Clinic. Two of my cats are pretty good patients, one of them is older and very cranky, and they were fantastic with her. I have seen other vets in other towns who were unable to work with her, wouldn't take the time to do so. All three of my animals have their little histories, and the cranky one I found in a dumpster in a trash bag after she had been abused by some monster of a person, which is why she is so untrusting and difficult, so I truly appreciate their great care with Jezzie and my other two pets. Another of my cats is young and mischievous and got into something he shouldn't of, ate it, and would have died if Dr. Cole hadn't been so relentless in finding out what is was and how to treat it. She did, and he is a beautiful healthy adult cat now. The Clinic was also very patient with me while I paid off his care since he required many tests and treatments. As far as the front desk, yes, it is busy, but that is the way it is in any busy office/reception area. I have never had anyone be rude to me. I am sure they do the best they can. Sometimes animal owners can also be a little difficult, right?I am very pleased with all the service and follow up calls and services from Arlington Animal Clinic and highly recommend it. I have lived in several different areas, and they are my top recommendation for Veteranarians I have had work with my animals over the years. S.E.
Dr. Springer has cared for all three of my dogs in succession. He is totally
knowledgeable and caring. He used to raise goldens himself so he is a devoted animal lover, and very patient with their owners. The front desk is a busy place and
they won't coddle you but you do get respect and fair treatment. I have never had a bad experience here and I have been using their services for 14 years. The tech assistants are upbeat and superfriendly, and P.S.-- the docs ALWAYS call you back and are generous with time and knowledge on the phone. It's a great place
I agree that receptionists can be very nasty. I told the receptionist I didn't want the receipt for my bill. It is a full page piece of paper and I was juggling two kids under three. She rolled her eyes, got very short, and told me she would not keep it. She also refused to let me use her garbage can so I could throw it out. It was unbelievable. The vets have always been very nice and professional. My cat has had two major procedures there and the vets were outstanding.
The service here is mixed. I gave it a very good rating for the vets. They are extremely knowledgeable and very good with animals. The schedule is always accomodating and they have late hours. Whenever I have called during non business hours the doctors always responded quickly. The reception staff could be a tad nicer for my liking. I find they are a bit curt and rude. BUT you have to look beyond that to the excellent team of vets they have working there. I was sad to leave this vet due to moving 1 hour travel time away. Parking can be a bit tricky as it is street only no parking lot on site.
