This is a good place to get a GREAT laugh! I'm not a big fan for getting lost down town, but I have enjoyed finding my way to this club to laugh til I cried.\r
If you're looking for a great laugh, you NEED to be in the house!

Don DC Curry was too funny! This place was packed full! Make sure you go early to get a seat..all the seats were good and you can see the stage from any table.

Great place. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the staff is very friendly & helpful & polite. Their waitresses are beautiful ! And the comedians (especially the host) are very funny and entertaining. The menu though is very limited & average.

My husband and I went to UCC for the first time on a Wednesday night. We received free ticketes from FSO. The ticket says to arrive 30 min prior to the show starting. We arrived about 15 min prior and we were still able to find good parking right behind the valet lot. There was a line, but it moved pretty fast and we were told to pick a seat in the VIP area. There were plenty of tables to pick from. The host Lavar Walker and the main act Red Grant were hillarious. I laughed more than I expected to. The only thing I didn't like was that they want you to buy 2 things from the menu. I would've been okay with that had I known before hand, but there was nothing menitoned about it on my ticket. I really thought I was getting free tickets and that I had an option to buy food/drinks if I wanted. I do realize though that they have to make their money somehow so I wasn't too upset about it. Next time I go though I will be prepared for that. Overall, I had so much fun that I wasn't even worried about having to buy food. I will go back when I get some more "free tickets"

Here is a summary of issues we have had since being signed up with the services from City Search.

Dishonest about how services are billed.

-I was given a different impression of how the site operates after talking to the citysearch employee for over 2 hours. I was given the impression that the site made income from adds placed by larger companies in the form of banner adds or featured sections. I have been involved with several different sites and they offer free advertisements and paid advertisements if you want a banner or bigger adds.

-Their was about 1-2 hours of conversation before the signup agreement where there was no mention of the service costing anything. Then during the signup process I was abruptly asked for my credit card information and was told the service would be $10/month, which is no problem, "with an investment of $1000/month." That's when I immediately stated that I can't afford this. Instead of looking out for the interest of me the customer, she was more intent on making a sale. She then replied that it is only a limit. She stated that "it is $1000 at a dollar a click, but if 1000 people contact you then it's worth every dollar." This statement would further imply that $1=1 contact. I at this point was under the understanding that the "Click" that was discussed earlier was in reference to clicking the link for contact information.. With this in conjunction of the possible number of people in Portland looking for a makeup artist for a wedding, I was under the impression I would be looking at $20-$50 a month. In actuality the service entails $1 per profile view not a dollar per click. If this was described and explained correctly I would have under no circumstances signed up for City Search. Not only is the explanation blatantly confusing but also borders dishonest. I would like to add that after finding out how services were billed I immediately attempted to terminate the service. Given the circumstances an exception could have been made for an early termination of services.

The profile itself was incomplete and poorly constructed.

-The profile was put together with very little care being a victim of numerous grammatical errors and obvious misspellings. Not only is this unacceptable especially for an add company but makes my business look careless and incompetent.

-Second I was also listed more than once, one of which was under the wrong category. there was one profile listed under Cosmetics which was correct, but another profile listed under Hair Salons. I am not a salon and have nothing to do with hair which should have been pretty apparent during the 2 hour phone conversation with the person signing me up. I signed up for one listing under Cosmetics. This looks like nothing more than a tactic to rack up profile views at a dollar a click especially when comparing the number of people looking for a makeup artist for their wedding with the number of people looking for a place to get their hair cut.

Out of the $1600.00+ that was charged to our business card for the over 1900 clicks we had in that 3 month period we were contacted by a total of 2 people. There is no way that many actual people clicked on that page.

Customer service.

Simply on an added note, In an attempt to sort all of this out, I had my significant other and partner in the business Jonathan call and try to work everything out. The gentlemen that he spoke to in customer service was not only uncompassionate of our situation but also very unprofessional. Very few questions were asked pertaining to how he could help and upon seeing that things were far from getting resolved he asked to speak to a supervisor. He was flat out told no. He than had to pry to find out who he could talk to for help. He then had to ask there isn't any one else to talk to? No supervisor or manager? at that point he was then told after a long pause simply they're in a meeting.

We had a great time. Can't believe all the trifflin' reviews. I got free tickets. Right on the ticket it said "two item minimum" . I have been to comedy clubs in NY and LA and they ALL have a two item minimum. What do you want? To get in free and buy nothing? Broke AZZ go kill yourself. I had a great time and would be happy to buy tickets next time and I am planning to so I can see Paul Mooney. Out of all the comedy clubs I have been to this is the best cause it's OURS. Not some club that just does black acts to get our money. The line is LONGGGG cause it's the place to be. Don't worry Uptown we will all be back just keep the comedy comin'.

Cons: food took a little long

EVERY positive review for this business only has one review on its profile... and who do you think they reviewed? You guessed it...

Dont be fooled. They do get some good comedy acts, but they treat people like crap.

I WENT HERE FOR MY 21ST BDAY back in may 09 and OMG lol I went by myself bc my boyfriend is in KS and I just moved to ATL so I didnt know anyone and I wanted to get out. First off when you walk in the door the security was looking at me like I was retarded. The host TOLD me to go sit in VIP so I did...but I couldnt see so I moved to the middle area and she came over there trying to yell at me like she was my mama saying YOU CANT SIT HERE YOU ONLY HAVE 1 PERSON, its a nicer way to say stuff and she didnt use the nice way but I got up anyway and moved to the tables against the wall in the back but I coiuldnt see anything so I went back to VIP and she gonna stop me and tell me that I cant move nomore I need to make up my mind I almost cursed her out but I didnt. They are very very very very rude there and have no respect. I never felt so uncomfortable in my life. And it took the waitress forever to bring me my drinks and they were not even good. But the show was good but I would not go back customer service ruined everything.

I've been to the comedy club in the past and the experience was not the best but I wanted to give them another chance. In the past they started late, didn't bring your drinks and food out to the show was almost over and the wait staff was never around. I was excited about going to the comedy club for a birthday party this time. We purchased our tickets in advance, thinking we were going to end the night with a good laugh. Well, I must say that I have never been treated so poorly at any establishment. When it comes to hanging out, my friends and I are very calm and down to earth. We are not demanding and we just try to make the best of any situation. When we arrived there was a long line but we soon discovered that the place was empty. The show was to start at 10:30 and we arrived at 10:45 and they still had people standing outside. That should have been our first sign that this was going to be a terrible experience. When we made it into the club, there were several tables available. The so called hostess wanted to sit us in the corner where we could not see the stage. We asked for a table that was more visible to the stage and she stated she had to sit us in order. She continued to roll her head and "curse" about us not wanting to sit in the corner. Please keep in mind that they did not have a full house and there were at least 15 empty tables available. As she was sitting another couple I notice they pointed to a different table than she was directing them to and she allowed them to sit. I kindly asked her why she was giving us a problem about were to sit. She then stated, with an attitude that we could sit at a table that we were standing near. By the time we sat down it's now 11:00 and still no show. We were very surprised to find that security was sent to our table. Well, not sure if I should say security guard or just another employee with a bad attitude. He came over and stated that we had to move over to the corner seat or leave and they would give us a refund. We first asked to see the manager and he stated he was the manger (liar on top of everything else). We gladly stated that we would prefer to leave because the experience with the hostess had already turned us off to any entertainment and we did not want to cause any trouble. When we got up front the so called security guy took our receipts and went in the back. When he came back with the ??manager" or so he say. We explained the situation to the manager and he stated he was going to give us a refund. We were relieved and awaiting to soon discover that he was a LIAR as well. The "manager" came back out and stated that he would not give us a refund because there were several empty tables in the house. We decided to leave without the refund because it was not worth the hassle and obviously they all were unprofessional. The bottom line is I??ve never had such a terrible experience like this in my life. It's very sad to see that some African American, managed or owned establishments still do not know how to service people. I can honestly speak for myself and friends and say they will NEVER get my business again. I would highly recommend that Uptown hire and train professional staff if they expect to be in business for a long time. With this kind of service they will not survive.

I visited Uptown for the third time this year, I agree parking is an issue. But there is free parking up the block. The comedians were very funny. All employees were friendly including security. The two item minimum is something different but hey we only paid 20 dollars this time and recieved free tickets both times before that, I realize they have to make money somewhere. I went to Katt Williams at the civic center a couple of months ago paid 80 per ticket and 30 to park. Now that was a rip off. I enjoy comedy. I have tried other venues and quality per dollar uptown is by far the best. My service was excellent no complaints from me or my guest. We will return and recommend it highly to everyone!!!!

Ok after reading everyone's review I had to weigh in on UCC. I have visited at least 10-15 times and have never paid...DON'T PAY...wait to get the free tickets...they give them out very freely.

The two item mininum that's a joke...are they a comedy club or strip club. This past saturday I was there I was told by a waitress they only serve bottled water for $2.75 and use the soda for alcoholic beverages. My friend asked what about people who do not drink alcohol and was told get water. It was the Nestle Pure Life waters...those you can get a pack of for like $3.99. What a ripoff. When I went on wed. my friend let the manager know what happened the previous visit and she gets the waitress whom apologized all the while laughing in our faces saying it was a mistake. Another friend ordered 2 beers and paid almost $20...what's up with that????

As for parking, if you do not mind walking a block then park down the street...it's free. Eat and drink before you go or else they will get you everytime. My experiences have not been all that bad, but they haven't been anything grand either. I will continue to go there and enjoy the shows, but I now bring $5 cash and concsider it to be my cover.

Overall if you don't expect much then you won't be disappointed.

This is my 4th time going and this time it was so bad I had to write a review. 1st warning: if any of you think you have won or received "free" tickets-think again. I'm not going to go over what others have said-it's very annoying to have to pay so much money for parking and then pay $3 for a bottle of water and have to do the stupid 2 item minimum. I went 2 Saturday nights ago because I received a call saying I won 20 free tickets and could invite people. I invited 20 and faxed the list in. When my people arrived we were not allowed to sit together even when we were all there. There is NO reserved seating even if you sign up in advance. I spelt one of my friends wrong on the list and even after I tried to explain that to the woman in the booth-she refused to let him in because his name was different on paper vs. his driver's license! A few of us were determined not to waste our money there so we paid the $5 minimum and called it a night. The waitress was rude with us because she wasn't getting a tip and the floor people were rude and yelled at us becaus we had a large group. It may seem like "oh-it's only 2 items" but trust me-it adds up. I prefer to just pay the $5 to avoid that. I was planning on having my birthday party here but after this experience I refuse to put my guests thru this again. The show is funny-we all laughed a lot and had fun, but you get treated bad. It's sad how badly black folks treat each other because they know they can get away with it because we don't have other good comedy shows here. Also-beware-the comedians have extreme pottymouths! I will probably go again just to have fun, but will park on the side road (the one before you get to the club) only go on a free Wednesday night or when I get free tickets again, and eat before I get there and pay $5. I consider that to be my cover charge!

Pros: funny comedians, only place in Atlanta like it

Cons: too expensive, bad parking, drinks are too small, rude waiters, can't sit together

ARRIVED ON A WEDSDAY ,EXPECTED BETTER SERVICE DUE TO NOT BEING SO CROWDED,BUT NEVER THE LESS, BEFORE I COULD ENTER ,THE WOMAN AT TICKET COUNTER(INSIDE THE BOOTH) HAD A TERRIBLE ATTITUDE,RUDE ,AND IMPATIENT . WAS TOLD THE 1ST 50 PEOPLE WOULD GET A STEAK DINNER- NO STEAK DINNER WAS SERVED.BOUGHT FOOD AND DRINKS OFF THE MENU AND PAID CASH DUE TO BEING AFRAID TO GIVE MY CREDIT CARD TO ANYONE. UNFORTUNATELY I GAVE THE WAITER CASH . THE WAITER DIDN' T RETURN WITH MY CHANGE, SO WHEN HE FINALLY PASSED BY MY TABLE I ASKED , WHERE IS MY CHANGE? HE REPLIED,YOU ONLY GAVE ME 50 BUCKS. I TOLD HIM I GAVE YOU 60 DOLLARS AND HE DISAGREED. I ASK TO SPEAK WITH THE MANAGER. THE MANAGER SIDED WITH WAITER. NOW, THE BILL AND THE TIP CAME UP TO 45 DOLLARS (THEY AUTOMATICALLY PUT THE TIP IN THE BILL); SO I SHOULD HAVE GOT 15 DOLLARS BACK . THE MANAGER CAME BACK TO TABLE AND SAID, I COULD GIVE YOU 4 DOLLARS BACK. WHILE ALL OF THIS IS GOING ON MY GUESTS AND I MISSED ALOT OF SHOW; ESPECIALLY THE MAIN ACT.

I was "ify" about going after reading some of the reviews, but we decided to go anyway and I'm glad we did! This was the best time out I've had in a long time. The price of the food wasn't that bad it was like any restaurant...$3.99-$11.99. The staff was great, friendly, and if you've never been...GO!

Cons: waiting for club to open

Firstly, let me say that I've read the reviews and was very excited about my first Uptown experience, as Benji Brown was the featured comedian for the night! I purchased tickets for me and my beau online just to ensure we would be able to see the show... (my last splurge before friday's check I might add!) My beau picked up something nice for me to wear to the club and I went and got my hair done. Finally, we're on the road! My excitement had reached it's peak when I saw "Marietta St", only to come to a screeching hault when we arrived at the club; an OVER-CROWDED venue with a line down the block on BOTH SIDES of the door! We turn into a jam packed parking lot just to find that we have to pay $15 to a RUDE parking attendant, that said our "general seating" tickets will not be honored because VIP seating is top priority. When we asked him if we could speak to someone at the club, he said we still had to pay $15 to ask a question! You expect me to wait in a LONG line when its 90 degrees outside, pay for parking that I may not need, and argue about tickets that I've purchased in advance? What's the point of being able to purchase advance tickets online, if when you get there they've sold your seat to someone else?? They're ripping people off! I wouldn't be surprised if they told me I couldn't get my money back! The only way to get in contact with them is by leaving a message on the business phone, so you can kiss your hard earned cash GOOD-BYE! I will not go back to Uptown Comedy Club no matter whose performing. Trust me, I know taste and it is poorly managed, and unorganized.

Some friends and I decided to go to the Comedy Clud to enjoy my birthday. We arrived early so that we could get good seat as suggested by "Sunshine" that works at uptown comedy. Once inside of the club, we were headed towards the floor to get a table close up, when a female employee asked me how many was in our party and told us to go to the VIP section. I was beginning to feel "special" due to this treatment UNTIL about 35 minutes later and after the show had started. We were asked to move to another location and told that "a table will be set-up for us". I explained that there were not anymore seats left and I also told them that we did not want to come to the VIP section; yet, we were TOLD to sit in the area. A male server, claiming to be the manager, then told us that we would need to pay $30.00 to sit at that table. We again told him that we arrived early to get good seats and now, after the show has started, we are told to move. The server/manager then went to get the security guard. The security guard confirmed that they were allowing some people to sit in VIP; however the VIP area is now needed for someone else. This was devastating to us, considereing the fact that we had already paid and had done nothing wrong. WE left the club and will never go back again. How does a radio station such as V-103 support a business such as this that is rude to paying, hard-working, people of color. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!!! I hope they get their JUST DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great comedy club for the adults who know how to behave and have a good time. Ordered tickets online for Friday show (8:30). So glad I did because it was very , very crowded. The atmosphere was great and the headliner Doo Doo Brown was absolutely HILARIOUS! I have never laughed so much. I definitely intend to go again and will be sure to arrive as early as possible.

Cons: Horrible bathrooms, Facility needs upgrades, Needs more space; attendees are jammed packed in the club. However, the experience out weighs my distaste for the building.

I have been twice to Uptown comedy corner, and both times were fun, comical and tasteful. This is one of the best grown up comedy clubs I've been to. I would highly recommended everyone experience this pleasure. The only thing I suggest is; Get there early! This place gets packed on the week day. The parking and seating is limited. Ever hear the phrase "First come...First served". So can you imagine what Friday and Saturdays look like. The comedians are VERY FUNNY! Open mic also VERY FUNNY! Thank you for letting me have such a great time your club. See ya Tonight!!

Me and a couple of relatives went and we had a great time. It's not a 5 star setting, but for what you pay to get in, its worth it. If you enjoy stand up comedy you will definitely enjoy yourself. It makes for a great night of fun, food, laughter, and drinks. The duration fo the show is great, it's enough where you feel like you get your moneys worth. It is also appealing to the young and to the old and everyone in between. I really enjoyed it. I will go back.

This was by far the worst comedy club ever. My two friends and I arrived at the venue at 7:10pm. The first downfall of the night was having to pay $10 for parking, and they blocked off on the street parking as though the establishment owned an Atlanta street. When we got to the front door the security guard told us the wait staff was having a meeting and it would be another 10 min before he could let us enter. On the ticket and on their website it says doors open at 7pm. Not to mention it was one of the coldest days in Atlanta. When we they finally let us in the waitress showed us to a table that was in the far right corner. I told her we would like to sit where we could see. She explained it was their policy to sit guest by rows. We asked if we could wait for other patrons to arrive and we could then be seated closer. After arguing with the waitress and security guard they finally called the manager over. He was very rude and threatened to call the police if we did not sit where they wanted us to. On the ticket it has general seating, also nowhere on the website does it state there is assigned seating. Finally the floor manager was kind enough to get us a better seat. The two item minimum is a joke. I ordered a drink for $9 and it was the size of a cup you use at the dentists office. My friends and I were very angered by the overpriced little baby drinks and the food served in paper plates. It was very tacky to spend about $115 for two people to eat off paper plates, receive watered down baby plastic cup drinks, and be harassed for showing up early and waiting to sit in a closer seat to see the show. After the show I brought 2 MIX CDS from the DJ which was horrible. How can you start a Rap mix CD off with new school rap and have the last 6 songs old school 1970's R&B with no mix. Even a twelve year old knows not to do that. All in all this was the worst comedy club I have ever been to. I warn anyone who goes to have money to throw away and not to buy the drinks.

First I would like to say for all of the people who gave uptown a bad review must not have been to many clubs that promote black comedy. I am a frequent guest of uptown comedy club and I must say each time i go i have had an ambiance experience. I have been treated with respect, my waitor was great each time I came to the club and the comedy and food was great. I really cant understand how can anyone can complain about the only true black comedy club that is willing to open in atlanta. uptown has provided very funny comics such as Chris Rock, Monique and even damon Wayons. What other club that caters to such famous headliners at such a bargian price. and as far as the price of their drinks, be realistic, how much are the drinks at the fox? or any other place holding such an event? please let us remember why you would go to uptown...for comedy and that you will see. The food and drinks are an added perk. If you aer unable to afford Uptown or any other event , then maybe saving and budgeting should become an interest to you.

I took my wife to see Kevin Hart. He was hilarious! The club holds maybe 200 people and was at capacity. The atmosphere was great and so were the host and comedians.
If you plan on eating or drinking do it before you go. A water was $6.00. The cheapest drink on the menu was $8.00. My wife had a woo woo, midouri sour and 2 waters. I had 3 Heineken's. Our bill was $56.00. Gratuity was included in the bill and our waiter never returned with our change. Not a cheap night after paying $28.00 per ticket. The food menu consisted of appetizers and the cheapest on the menu were the fries @ $4.00 a pop.
Don't buy into the VIP seats. The higher price is not really worth the extra $$$. The club is set up so there is not really a bad seat in the house so go with the cheaper tickets and get there early for a premium seat.
We were 2 out of 7 Caucasians that we counted but we felt safe and were treated fair.
Knowing what I know I would go again but definitely have drinks prior to and pay the $5.00 surcharge instead of the 2 drink minimum.

I must admit that after coming into the dark, small room, I had second thoughts. You see, I remember the original uptown comedy corner from the late 90's located in Buckhead. But believe me, it is worth the laugh! Around Christmas holidays, I got some tickets from a friend to attend one of the comedian Nard's celebrity Sundays. We had a blast! Nard is just bananas! Oh, and I can't forget the DJ! He should do more parties! The wings were great, the drinks were fruity, but really good and the comedians were a blast! Since then some friends and I have been back again. I went for my birthday this past week and Griff (Hot 107.9, BET, etc.) was the host and he gave all the birthday people a gift! It was awesome! Some friends and I are planning to go again this Sunday! My only complaint is the parking prices of $10-20 especially since it's the dead of winter! But overall, it's worth the laugh with friends and some adult fun and entertainment.

I went to Uptown with my husband (his birthday) and two friends. He won tickets on the radio and so did my friend. Sure the line was long but once we got inside it was well worth the wait. The lemon pepper wings and fried green tomatoes were delicious. I do not drink alcohol but the virgin drinks were good. I had strawberry daiquiri. The host was "Ms. Sophia" and I laughed so much, it was her sisters birthday roast. The comedienes were so funny and I saw alot of my BET favorites. At the end we had a piece of
Wanda's cake and it was good. I will definetly go back again.

My friend came from San Antonio and I wanted to show her a good night out in the ATL. We decided to go to Uptown and we were NOT disappointed. We went with a group of 7 and due to the large number of people we were divided between 2 tables.

Wanda Smith hosted the night and she was hilarious!!! If you like her on the Morning Show, then you'll LOVE her at Uptown. The comedians who were preforming that night were Above Average, but for me and my girls, Wanda was the star that night.

Of course she (and some of the comedians) made a few jokes about some of the audience members, but hey! it's a comedy club... that is to be expected right?? I mean, it is an unwritten rule that if you don't want a comedian to target you, you gotta fly below their radar (meaning, DON'T sit in the first two rows). Many people in the audience were "good sports" and eager to get up on stage or be the "butt" of a joke or two. An Open-Minded crowd really makes the show worthwile. I also though the DJ was very appropriate. His mix of old school and new music made the show enjoyable for all ages (and we had a pretty age diverse group with us).

The only con in my opinion was the service. Our waitress (and the other waitress serving our friends table) were extremely slow. The first comedian was halfway through his act before she came and took our order. The food and drinks were a bit pricey, but the drinks were also pretty potent (so it was a trade off). There is also a "2 item minimum" that you must order from either the drink or food menus. If you do not order, I believe there is a $5 fee charged to you per person (at least that is what the menu stated). Personally, I don't think that was really appropriate considering that there is already a cover charge to get in the club. It would be better if they just charged an additional $5 at the door and made ordering food or drinks optional.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I am planning on returning soon.

I had a great time!
My boyfriend and I went to Uptown Comedy Club for the first time on Fri. 8/17/07. I had a great time, no regrets at all. I have to admitted I was skeptical after reading all the negative reviews. We got there mins after 700pm, the parking was fine it cost $15, but it was well lit and secure (there were other parking for $10), when we got to the door there was no line, we walked straight in, we got great seats (like the 2nd row), we did have to share a table with two other ladies, the tables are small and your surroundings can be crowded, but that's expected it's a club, we had great customer service, she was busy but she recognized your need and attended to her section in a timely fashion, the food was also decent, the portion was larger than I expected ( keep in mind each person must purchase two items on either menus), As for the performances, it started a little a late, Wanda and Mr/Ms Sophia was funny and the kept the crowd entertained, Pat Brown and Monique were both funny, I was skeptical about Pat Brown, but she proved me wrong, Monique was hilarious, I enjoyed every moment of her performance, the music was also great, it was a good mixture, I recommend going 100 percent, please ignore all the negative reviews and have fun! definitely get your tickets in advance and get there 30-45 mins early.

Pros: Funny entertainment, Service

.

I have visited this club two times this year, with the most recent visit being this past Friday. Now the first time I went it wasn't too bad, which of course led me to try the club one more time. The first time we were VIP so there was no waiting in line, however that did not guarantee a good view once seated. The service was mediocre and the comedians did manage to get a few good laughs out of me and my boyfriend. But my second visit was absolutely horrible. Me trying to save a few dollars, I did not get VIP which caused us to wait in line a good 25 minutes. Then once we finally got a table, we had to share the table no less with another couple who was as thrilled as we were to have to be elbow to elbow with a couple of strangers. Our view was horrible, try stretching and straining your neck for a good hour and see how you feel. The food was not hot and fresh and I don?t know if they cooked the shrimp and fries in day old grease or what but my stomach started cramping like hell after I digested that mess. And to top it off, the main act Monique who I expected to be so entertaining that I would forget about all of the other unpleasantries of the night, just totally sucked. She was not thoroughly enjoyable and lost steam after only 20 minutes. My boyfriend and I just decided to charge it to the game and leave early. Overall I would NOT recommend this club. You are better off staying at home and watching classic ComicView on BET and drinking shots of patron all night. That's what we did later on that night and had a ball!

This is my first time writing a review about a club but after reading all the negative things that people had to say about Uptown, I felt like I had to say something. Let me just say that I had an incredible time! I went last night for the first time and my best friend and I cannot understand why so many people felt that this club was below their expectations. I though the location was good, the atmosphere was perfect! We both ordered meals and drinks and the wait staff was on point! They brought our orders out promptly, the food was hot and it was good, and the prices were reasonable. My drink was perfect, not watered down at all which I have had happen on more than one occasion at other places. I will say this, you definately want to get there on time because we were about 20 minutes late for the show and had to sit in the back but that place was packed and that is definately a good sign for any establishment. I don't mind paying the $10 to park my car at all, remember folks this is a business! Much rather know my car is safe for $10 bucks than to be concerned about it getting towed and have no way home. (Also, have had this happen trying to save money on parking at clubs in Atlanta) The comedians were hilarious, laughed the whole night! I will definately go back! I feel like I needed to write this because when I think that I almost didn't go based on others critcism of the club, I'm really glad I am the type of person that needs to see it for myself and then make a judgement! I would definately recommed Uptown to anyone and I do plan on going back!

I often went to the Peachtree Street location - it was so much better then. I've been to the new location 3X now, hoping each time that it would get better, and I have been disappointed each time. I agree with the lady that protested the $10 parking charge. By the way, the last time I tried to go, I paid the $10 and I lost my money because the show sold out (I suppose I got away lucky because there were people being turned away that had prepaid tickets that night). The last time I actually got in, I even had to wait until I got home to go to the restroom because ALL of their toilets in the ladies' room were stopped up. You could use them in an emergency - but it was so gross, I just left. Every time, I've noted that the whole place seemed to not be very clean. I'm not really a neat-freak either. If you spring the extra cash for the VIP seats you'll be quite disappointed because they aren't good seats. I hate writing this but it's true.

Pros: Comedians are always funny, drinks are tasty

Cons: Ticket sales are unorganized, $10 self parking, serious housekeeping issues - venue is not kept clean

A couple of girlfriends and I decided to go to Uptown to hear some comedy. We prepaid for our tickets in advance (thinking that this would be a wise decision). My first disapproval was having to pay $10 to park the car myself on the street that I'm sure Uptown does not own. The 2nd disapproval came when we got to the gate to get our tickets we paid for in advance, they tell us that the area we had tickets for was SOLD OUT and that we would have to pay an additional $10 to sit in VIP on top of the $18 we had already paid. I am livid at this point and want to take my $18 and count it as a loss and not patronize Uptown again however, my friends didn't want to just lose the $18. Of course they have the two item minimum which I refused and paid the extra $5 so, at this point they had gotten $43 dollars out of me. The show wasn't good, the service was slow, and VIP was some of the worse seats in the place. I would not recommend Uptown Comedy Corner to ANYONE. This is coming from someone who use to patronize them all the time when they were on peachtree street (parking was free, admission $10 sometimes $5 and every show I attended was good). If you think you will get that same experience you are in for a rude awakening.

I went on a Thursday night with a group of 12. We really enjoyed ourselves. The show was very funny! The host and the main comedian were hilarious! The second opening comedian was funny as well. We laughed the entire time, hysterically. The food was good. I ordered a crab cake basket. I also ordered a Blue Hawaiian and it was watered down but the Grape Ape was good. A family member at my table had the Georgia Peach tea and it was really good. I would go back and I definitely would recommend this comedy club to others. If you want to laugh and be happy visit the Uptown comedy Corner.

Great venue, comedy was off the chain but the drinks!!!! Way too expensive. I left with a tab from hell, but, I did have a good time so I guess it was worth it.

I wnet to Uptown Comedy Corner last Saturday and it was GREAT!! At first i was nervous when reading all of these negative reviews but after attending i knew they were a bunch of nonsence.. The securtity was nice and attentive making sure to search me which put me at comfort. The hostess asked me where I wanted to sit assuring that I get the best view where I wanted. My server was wonderful..My ticket says her name was Baby but I dont really remember the exact name but she was so nice. Granted I did have a problem with my drink tasteing wierd but when i saw her i asked for a new one..willing to still pay for it-What i recieved was a new drink and the drink still taken off my bill and I was only charged half of the new drink price. I knew it was still on there and she was just going to pay for it ...so i left her an additonal tip on top of the gratutity.. I ended up leaving her 20 for a 35 tab... She always checked on me and everything...The comedians were FUNNY!!!!!!! i WOULD GO BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN...people complain about the added gratuity but they have never been servers ..and at Cheesecake Factory i can tell you those tips are split...they only recieve a portion of it..So remeber that next time you go!!!! Tip well and your service will be well...But i will always ask for my server!!!

My fiance and I joined my co-worker and her boyfriend at this spot just to do something different. I had a good time. Wanda Smith was the host but she was corney. Why is it that big (fat) so called comedians try to pick on members in the audience in order to attempt to make someone laugh? Our waitress was very nice. We ordered the lemon pepper wings which were too salty. We notified the waitress and within 10 minutes she gave us another batch. They were great! The comedians before the main even were so funny. To top it all off, Keith Sweat performed! Overall we had a good time.

My husband and I received free tickets from our daughter to attend the show. I read the negative comments and thought maybe management read them and fixed the problem. Well...we went to the 8:00 p.m. show on Saturday. I showed the woman at the booth our free tickets. She motioned to the security guard to let us in. We had to show our id cards to verify that we were of age. There was no line so we were able to walk in and be seated right away. The server came in and apologized for being tardy; I did not think she was late. The show was about to start in 30 minutes. She was very friendly. We ordered the usual hot wings. They came out in a reasonable time. I think we received someone else's order because they were not hot. I did not send them back because I was hungry. They were good. The drinks were okay. The three comedians were good, kept the crowd in stitches. In the beginning, I could not hear the comedian because her voice was being drowned out by the loud blaring music coming from the speakers. We had a good time on a Saturday night.

I recently visted Uptown Comedy Corner. I loved it! In fact the group of 10 that I brought w/me enjoyed it as well. I recieved a group discount because I had a party of 10 and paid for my tickets in advance. Myself and my friends could not stop laughing.
Wanda Smith was the host and she is the best! Our waitress was courteous and kind. The place was packed and we still got our food and drinks in a timely manner.
I would also like to state that: All new businesses have issues to iron out when starting out: It sounds to me, from reading the negative posts by some people on this board is that they never ask to speak to a manager about their complaints. They have just decided to make unfair statements on the internet. If you feel that you have had a very bad experience at an establishment, why would you not ask to speak to a manager. If the manager does not do anything to accomadate you, Then you blast them out! I know that I have been to Uptown several times and it's always packed and I've always had a great time. I will be supporting this comedy club and if I have any suggestion on how they could better service me, I will make my comments to the establishment and not to the internet. Thank you. Thelma.

Cons: really crowded; show started late.

I go to Uptown just about every Tuesday and I like it a lot. On any given Tuesday you'll see ball players (Shaq, Gary Patton) rappers (T.I., Jeezy) really anybody. I've never been charged the $5.00 service charge and sometimes i only order 1 drink. They are really good about running your drinks and food out in a timely manner to me and the turkey burger is delicious. Sounds like the majority of the people writing comments have caviar taste with a KFC budget. Uptown is not for you "uppty" comedy lovers. For what you pay, ITS WELL WORTH IT. But i have to admit, I normally go on Tuesday and have no problem, I went this past Saturday (on supposedly grown & se*y night) and it sucked but that was because of the people, not because of the establishment. Tuesday, while still 21+, is a much better younger crowd.
