I brought my new puppy into this vet (which is now Duraleigh-Oak Park I guess) early this year and was highly impressed with the service I received. The office was very clean and everyone greeted me with a smiling face. All of the staff seemed very knowledgable and very willing to answer all of my questions. I was seen by a Doctor who seemed to enjoy not only taking a look at my little guy, but also talking with me about his health, his future, and any of the many other topics we discussed. I admit the whole process of a puppy can be very overwhelming, but each topic was discussed very thoroughly by both the assitants and the vet herself. While I was there they also gave me a tour of the facility, which I found to be very comforting. All in all I felt very satisfied with the level of care I received and most of all with the very personal touch they offered. Through my years I have been to my fare share of clinics, but I felt the most comfortable with this one and would recommend them to anyone looking for a Vet.

Adopted a 10-year-old cat, scheduled a routine checkup. The result? Three traumatic visits in which various personnel conducted two plasma tests and an 8-hour stay for a urinalysis. All within a week. Spent less than 90 seconds talking to an actual vet. Instead, the fourth trip was to be a ""consultation."" By this time, within 24 hours after the eight-hour ""urinalysis"" visit, the traumatized cat was hiding, refusing to eat or drink and sneezing uncontrollably. This place also sat on bloodwork results for five days, saying they hadn't come in even though the date showed they had come in the day after they were taken. The self-described ""owner"" threatened to have me arrested when I demanded all medical records. Bottom line? Nearly $600 in costs, no veterinarian consultation, multiple visits and contradictory information from various non-vet underlings, and a very sick cat that had been perfectly happy and highly extroverted before this nightmare. The whole ""Duraleigh-Oak Park Veterinary Hospital"" is to be avoided, in my opinion.

Pros: Cat made it out alive..so far

Cons: Too many ignorant underlings, high costs, little contact with actual vet.

Oak Park Veternary Hospital is convinentially located on Creedmoor Road in Raleigh - near Crabtree Valley Mall. They have a no appointment necessary policy which has both its positive and negative points. The facility does accept 'pet insurance' which is a relatively new concept for area clinics. They are open until 8:00 on Wednesday and Thursday evenings which makes it VERY nice for those who work during the day.

Location is great and they sell supplie there so you dont have to worry about going and huntting it down after if they need a diet or need speical foods. Just nice to see people giving a lot of care to animals.
