Don't be fooled by it's strip mall location. Inside it's a class act comedy club with great greeters and friendly servers, fantastic owners who are always there working, and some incredibly funny comedians - and they're getting bigger name comedians all the time. Been going there for years since they opened. Make sure to save room for sweet potato fries or some of their other yummy appetizers. Never tried their desserts (just doesn't go with the wine I'm drinking), but they look decedant.

I have been raving to friend's and family about Laughs Comedy Spot for a couple of years now so the least I could do is to share with all of you. I have had nothing but excellent service from the hostess to the owners. Angela (the owner)

I had been invited to ladies night at the club. It was perfect! With the wine tasting, food, shopping for the ladies and then a great night of women comedians I couldn't have asked for a more unique and fun evening out. I will definately be going to the next one.

I have been going to Laughs Comedy Spot every weekend since I first found out about the place about 3 months ago. It will have been open for a year come the begining of June, and I cant believe that I never went before. The place is great. There's always a fun, energetic atmosphere and the comics 9 times out of 10 are hillarious. You do have to remember to keep an open mind, but it's all in good fun and that's why people go. The waitresses are cute and friendly and work their butts off, and the bartender always makes really good drinks! :) Really good. ;) Dave and Angela are great people and do a great job running the place. I recommend Laughs to at least 10 people a day, and more times than not, people dont even realize that it's just right here in Kirkland! :) Grab a friend, or grab a date, go to the website to find your taste in comedy and then go to that show. It's really that simple. Like I said, I'm there every weekend with my friends ( who are all cute ;) btw) and hope to see more new faces this weekend! :)

I recently went to see Robert Hawkins at Laughs and it was a great show! Robert was very funny, lived up to his reputation and Ty Barnett was also a great surprise. The feature act, Brian (from Boston) was also a great young comic and took time to talk with a group of us after the show. The service is better than any of the comedy clubs in the Seattle area, so if you are looking for a better experience you might as well stay home. The owner is a nice guy and I applaud what he is doing bringing quality comedy to the East Side.

Pros: GREAT COMICS, EASY PARKING, GREAT FOOD

.

Laughs is the only place on the Eastside to see live comedy! The parking is free and well lit, the club is new and clean, and it's incredibly easy to find! Definitely beats driving out to Seattle and the staff remembers my drink order... kinda like my very own "Cheers!" bar {NORM!}.

Full disclosure: I am a stand-up comic myself, and thus find myself at Laughs regularly and thusly view it from a potentially different standpoint than the average patron.

However, I feel I have no choice but to respond to the review left by 'Davesucksass'; I was at that show. This particular group of people were kicked out because they sat up front and, instead of watching the show, proceeded to have conversations and fiddle around on their cell phones. It was detracting from the show experience for everyone, people who potentially WOULD enjoy the comic if they were able to hear him. It is flat-out unacceptable to attend a performance and then ruin it for everyone else. I also witnessed Dave's interactions with this group; he asked them if they had a problem, and when they continued to escalate the situation and argue with him, he asked them to leave. Dave has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, which causes him to slur his speech; he is NOT a drunk, and it's unkind to mock someone's handicap. After these individuals were escorted out of the door, they made a point of shouting outside in order to continue to interrupt the show, so please take their review with a grain of salt. No one likes to be called out for behaving inappropriately, but writing vindictive reviews is not the way to go about things.

Having said THAT, I love Laughs. The stage is large and well-lit, you can see the act from anywhere in the room; they also showcase a great mix of comics, with open mic nights on Tuesdays (with newbies fighting stage jitters and seasoned vets alike!), fun performers on Wednesdays like comedy hypnotists, and hot national acts Thursday through Saturday. If I didn't perform there, I would still frequent the club, and many of my non-comic friends DO frequent the club weekly or more often. All I'm saying is, please don't miss an opportunity to have a great night out (to potentially see me perform *cough*) because of someone with a vendetta's negative review.

Laugh's Comedy Spot in Kirkland is the best thing that's happened to the East Side for entertainment in a long time. I'm a regular and can't say enough about the place. I appreciate the fact that the shows are policed for people talking and being obnoxious during the events because I don't come to see the public act like asses... I come to see the comics and am paying to be entertained by a professional. It's irritating and rude to the rest of the people that paid good money to see the show to have it be interrupted by someone's own personal need for attention. If you don't want to sit through a comdey show and be entertained...don't go to one. The food is great, the service is top notch and the owners have done an awesome job at making sure that everyone from their staff to their customers to their comics are taken care of the way they should be. The only ones that seem to write bad reviews about Laugh's are people that are asked to stop disrupting the shows so consider the source. Laugh's is a great place and I it's a class act. I would recommend it to anyone that is a comedy fan and wants the total experience.

Pros: Attentive

Cons: When people won't shut up and no one makes them

Situated in a well appointed, comfortable and clean atmosphere, Laughs really takes comedy to the next level with world class comics. Not only are the cocktail waitresses very polite and efficient, but the bar mixes up fantastic cocktails that compliment a fresh appetizer or entree from the kitchen!

It is unfortunate that folks in the review below didn't take into account their actions during the show... live comedy is no different than seeing a movie or going to a performance, the comics and the many other patrons don't appreciate loud table conversation or heckling as it can unfortunately ruin the experience for others. If these folks had moved to the back of the house or stepped outside for a few minutes, they would have not been asked to leave for disrupting the performance. I applaud the staff at Laughs for removing such nuisances, as it ensures a fantastic fun filled evening!

I was at the Doug Stanhope show on 5/3 with a party of 20+ people that each paid 24.00 a ticket to get in. Yes we were seated first, however the service and management was out of line. An altercation took place when the security refused to let a member of our party use the restroom. Apparently the managment was unhappy that someone had playfully bood one of the comics. Hey...I thought that is what happens at comedy shows, especially when they act is not that great. Anyway it turned out to be a horrible experieced and the police were called, etc. The comic even made it a point to comment on our party as part of his act and making threats etc, which really did not help his act out any. With the bar bill, plus the ticket costs, I can definitely think of alot better ways to spend $800. Basically I don't think any of us would go back.

My husband and I rarely go out (having 2 kids puts a constraint on our time), so when we do have a 'date-night', we are hoping for top-notch food and entertainment. We enjoyed both at Laughs recently and were so glad that we had made the drive from Seattle to check it out! The comedians were great, the food selection and quality superlative, and the service friendly and responsive. I have recommended this establishment to other parents- we're hoping to all come back over from Seattle for future engagements at Laughs.

I was at the Doug Stanhope show last night, and it was amazing. The opening comics were hilarious and the service was promt. I heard that somebody wrote a bad review because they were thrown out for being an idoit. I also learned that they ended up in jail that night. So before taking the advice of a moran, check the place out for yourself. And if you get a chance to see the legendary Doug Stanhope... Do it!! He is a comic genious.

As a regular customer of Laughs, I can honestly say that I have ALWAYS had a good time and last Saturday (5/3) started out the same. The headliner was a VERY popular comic (Doug Stanhope) and the shows were sold out. so the place was packed. Everyone was jazzed and ready to have a good time. As always at Laughs, there were a couple of warm up acts, so not only do you get a great headliner, but also some other up and coming acts as well. Heck of a deal for 20 bucks! Granted, you dont always know what your getting with the warm up acts and some performers are better than others, but one guy in the audience really didnt like one of the warm up acts and got really vocal about it. If youve been to any comedy show you know that there are sometimes hecklers, thats part of the deal I guess, but we all paid our money to hear the acts, not the audience though and it's the reason the managment has to keep a handle on it getting out of hand. So I guess when they asked the guy to keep it down, he just escalated it to the point where they had to call security over. He got hostile and one thing led to another and he was "escorted" out the back door and the Kirkland men in blue showed up. Bummer way to end an evening for that dude but certainly not the fault of Laugh's management. Heck even Doug (the headliner) ,who is seriously anti-management and definitely anti-cop, said he thought the guy was out of line and he supported the bouncer and the cops! Anyway, I just wanted to write and let everyone know that Laughs is great place to come for dinner and a show. Great value and nice staff trying to make sure everyone is able to have good time in spite of a few rowdys. Give it a try and judge for yourself. Oh, and be ready to LOL.

I had the opportunity to be at the Greg Behrendt show on Saturday (3/22) and really enjoyed myself. Not only was the headliner great, but so was the host and the featured comic. It was a packed house but you can hear and see what's going on onstage anywhere you might be seated. I have been at Laughs on several other occasions and have always found it a fun place to go, particularly when it's just me and I'm not with a group. The staff always makes me feel welcome and never out of place, which can sometimes happen at establishments when you go as a single person. I like the fact that there are no fried foods and the kitchen has always been accommodating of some special dietary needs I have. While I enjoy being able to see a headliner like Greg Behrendt, it is also just as much fun to see new comics and pros try out their material at open mic night. It makes me appreciate the effort that goes into putting together a routine. I think it's great that there is this sort of venue on the Eastside, close to where I live, and that I always feel welcome when I go there.

I thought - a comedy club in Totem Lake? How good can THAT be? I was pleasantly surprised. Once inside Laughs I left the Totem Lake Blues behind and felt like I was in Seattle (without the commute!). The staff were cheerful and helpful, the seating was comfortable and the performances I have attended have been FUNNY!! As with any comedy club, some performers are more entertaining than others but Laughs seems to be working hard to book national comedians and I look forward to the shows!

So, this is my second time to the establishment. I visited once in the summer and had a pretty decent time but for some reason the energy of the place has drastically changed. On my first visit, there was a wonderful young lady at the front who made sure my experience was awesome the entire time...the entertainment was great...the food ok....but this time it was much different. I was directed to a table by a gentleman who I think was the owner. I found him to be a bit on the rude side and I think he may have been intoxicated. He was very short and provided unacceptable service.

The place was not as crowded as I would have expected....the comic whose name was Dean was mediocre, but not worth the $15 it took to get in. The food in my opinion is of bottom barrell which is placed nicely on a plate with seasoning. The service was slow and the drinks were decent.

My husband and I use to frequent many comedy clubs in many areas of the US we have lived in ( San Fran, Houston, Boise, etc,) and I would say they all had heart....which is what Laughs is lacking. It is great to have a comedy club so close on the Eastside, but I would spend extra money to drive further to a better club. Sorry Laughs...the place looks great inside...the menu looks fabulous...the acts "appear" top notch...you are just not living up to the promise.....Good luck!

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Dave Dennison. Myself and significant other (Angela) opened up Laughs in Totemlake. I used to have comedy at the Doubletree/Ramada Inn/Paragon hotel.

I did not like the fact we had no control over the food, beverage, or the service. I have been in the Food & Beverage business for nearly 28 years, and the comedy business for nearly 20 years. We thought of every angle, from sight lines to colors to menu items to comedic styles, and everything in between. We put things into Laughs that we liked at other comedy clubs, and other restaurants. We left things out that we did not like as well.
We put are hearts and souls as well as all the money we could obtain in order to create something the Eastside needed.

I personally am offended by jennybe's review cause I know it is fabricated, by either the former employee or her friend. Here is how I know:

a) She said the owner sat her and her husband....appearing intoxicated ( I was short a cook, so I was in the kitchen the whole time....by the way, I have cerebral palsy ataxia....which gives the appearance of intoxication..was not intoxicated)
why don't you just make fun of somebody in a wheel chair?
b) Says the food, was bad........we had no complaints on any of the food we watch our ticket times, it was slow....but this is the slow time of year.
c) Dean Evans is a fantastic performer.....the whole audience loved Dean...every show.....EVERYBODY.

I just want comedy to succeed in the Pacific Northwest...go see a show....I don't care if its Giggle's, The Comedy Underground, Mainstage, or Laffhole. Just see a show....Hopefully you will check out us...we are not perfect but we aim to please.

a) She said the owner sat her and her husband....appearing intoxicated ( I was short a cook, so I was in the kitchen the whole time....by the way, I have cerebral palsy ataxia....which gives the appearance of intoxication..was not intoxicated)
why don't you just make fun of somebody in a wheel chair?
b) Says the food, was bad........we had no complaints on any of the food we watch our ticket times, it was slow....but this is the slow time of year.
c) Dean Evans is a fantastic performer.....the whole audience loved Dean...every show.....EVERYBODY.

I just want comedy to succeed in the Pacific Northwest...go see a show....I don't care if its Giggle's, The Comedy Underground, Mainstage, or Laffhole. Just see a show....Hopefully you will check out us...we are not perfect but we aim to please.

Dave

Pros: Big name acts...great comedy...great menu....great service!!

This place has some great comedians -- top headliners that we've seen on Comedy Central. Go to the 8pm show and get dinner. Get there early for the best seats. The food is great and on the healthy side. The burger comes with a side salad, not fries (although a side of sweet potato fries is an excellent choice). The wait staff is friendly and after we've shown up a few times, Carrie even remembered our drink order! Gotta check this place out.

Cons: the construction on the 405

Saw the late show Saturday night and laughed the whole time- two awesome comedians. Had 2-1 coupon from Valpak but admission is still cheap at $13. Inside is romantic with low lighting and trendy bar. A sign requests two item drink order per person but the waitstaff wasn't pushy that I only wanted one Cape Cod. With only an hour show a two drink minimum is pushing it timewise but the waitstaff was friendly. A magician came to our table to promote their upcoming show, it looked fun! Parking is easy, venue not crowded and the Liquid Lime right across for partying after... why go into Seattle?

Laughs is great! Finally a comedy club on the Eastside! Thye have a great menu along with a full bar. The acts they book are always top notch too. It's great for groups. We used the 2 for 1 coupons we found here and had drinks at the Liquid Lime before the show. All in all it's a good spot for fun on the Eastside.

After going to Laughs for the first time, here's what I experienced:

The first thing I saw was a 2-for-1 admission link on this website. So I clicked on it and looked everywhere and couldn't find it. Maybe I'm just dumb or something but I didn't find a 2-for-1 anywhere.

I then went to the website to figure out how I can get tickets. There were 3 ways listed: 1) online, 2) over the phone, and 3) at the door 1 hour before it starts. All of which offer a $2 discount. So I first went to the online site to purchase it and found that they charge a $3 service fee per ticket which means that it costs $1 more to buy the ticket online than at the door. So I scratched that route. I then called them on the phone to try and buy it. The person told me that they don't do sales over the phone. That's weird because last time I checked, the website said that they did. I opted to buy it at the door.

During the time that I called for my failed attempt to buy a ticket, they told me to make a reservation. Which would give me a reserved seat to sit in the front. I said cool, they took my name. When I went in early to buy the ticket at the door, the hostess asked me for my name to make a reservation again. I told her that one was already made over the phone. She wrote my name down "just incase." I got my $2 discount for an early purchase.

When I arrived back for the show, even with my 2 reservations for sitting in the front, I was not seated anywhere in the front and they also didn't even look for my reservation. They just bused everyone in joint trying to collect money as fast as they can. So what was the point of asking me twice for reservations when they didn't even look at it.

Finally, right after I was seated, I ordered some food. My food never came. I then asked the waitress if my food was ordered and she said no. There was some mixup with my order or something. I was expecting to me comped for my food since it came 1.5 hours late. I didn't.

This is a great comedy club on the eastside.
Headliners are always really good. Food, drink and service all top notch!!

Across from Kirkland Ford, this little comedy place is a new addition to the eastside. Across the street is the liquid lime, Stop in for a few drinks then head over to the comedy club for a great night out.

A+++
