All i can say is when you go here they treat you like family. The best and friendly staff around, always smiling, great doctors,caring,informative..Have been going to them, since they were in Newburgh, they saved our 8 week boxer puppy, which we were told by another vet,to take her home and just let her die.Flannery's saved her and house trained her too.we have been with them ever since...highly recommend.

I would give flannery nothing but the best ratings! The wait was normal... I went to a human hospital and waited over an hour and a half before- my longest was almost 3 hours, so waiting at flannery's for 20 mins is extremely fast. And the cost is really not that expensive! Compare everything to a human hospital- just to be seen in the ER with no insurance was $775 at st lukes plus IV fluids was an additional 200. I had a xray, fluids and ultrasound done at st lukes at over $2500. So Flannerys is cheap!
Being a medical product supplier I can state that ALL MEDICAL SUPPLIES have gone up in cost. So if you want Flannerys to stay open then need to raise the prices too-- DUH!
the have the best state of the art technology and require their dr's and tech's to go to classes and get addition education every year!
If one dr is unsure of something they will consult with other drs until they are 100% sure
When an animal dies and needs CPR they will not only go the extra mile they will go 5 extra miles!!!

SO get off your high horse and realize that if flannery was not there all your pets would suffer for other hospitals!

If your animal is at another hospital that is not a 24hr hosp- they are alone from 5 or 6pm to 8 am. so if your animal has a seizure or dies they would not know for hours...THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have taken our dogs to Flannery since we moved to the area 7 years ago. Our older dog Romeo, 14 woke up one morning unable to move his back 2 legs. They saw him right away, honestly, I thought that this was the end for my Romeo. Dr Winter examined him, and gave me my options. I decided to go with lazer therapy for him. Romeo is now mobile and very happy. Dr Winter checks in on him and his progress with the lazer. Barbara, the technician is skilled and very patient with Romeo. Lazer treatments made it possible for Romeo to live. I am thrilled with the results and happy to enjoy Romeos company for a while longer.

Some of the vets are poor-got to stick with Puccio, Kryger, Evans.

Problems with vets aren't addressed.

If you have had a bad experience, it isn't just you. Don't use them for surgeries or ultrasound if you have a dog (like us) or anything else.
You can get a surgeon for the same amt.

I have been a customer (and my pets patients) since about 1969. The hospital as it is now bears no resemblance to the one-man operation of 40 years ago, which is both good and bad.

I have had mostly good experiences over the years, especially when I can see a Doctor I know and trust. You can request a specific doctor when you place your appointment, so except for emergencies you can always see the doctor of your choice. I have had a few questionable experiences with newer vets who either didn't listen or discounted my observations. In those cases I was firm and we reached a workable situation that was fair to the animal who was the focus of my visit.

Their prices have become outrageous, but that's outweighed by their recent shift to having a vet at the hospital 24 hours a day. My midnight emergencies are some of my best experiences recently, Doctors Stillman and Smatt are the usual overnight encounters and both are skilled and compassionate. I feel much better about the occasional overnight stays knowing my pets are being observed overnight and someone is there who can help if something isn't right.

The unfortunate few negative experiences I have had are nothing compared to some of my friends. I had always recommended this hospital and it's doctors to people who asked me where I go, and I have one friend who had a positive experience (and has since moved away) against the another 5 who have told me about their negative experience and swore they would never go back.

It seems if you are overly concerned about the cost, or if your pet is a pit-bull, or if you dress like an urban fashion plate, you can count on being treated poorly. One friend had her cat die during a routine surgery and another person complained the doctor accused her of 'over-reacting' to bloody vomit that seemed to be caused by a drug he prescribed and told her to continue giving it. Another was billed over $300 for an emergency office visit during the day where the doctor removed the gauze and tape from a cut the dog had and didn't even re-wrap the injury when the person refused the recommended treatment (stitches to close a cut on the upper leg were quoted at $500-600 the person thought this was unreasonable and went to another vet for treatment that cost less than half). I am always disappointed to hear about these things and so I no longer recommend this hospital though I continue to use it for everything except canine Chiropractic (which they do not offer).

Another positive note, when I have been faced with a large bill for a sudden illness or elderly pet, they have always been willing to extend credit to me. They have never been pushy or required any structured payments. This has made it possible for me to afford life-saving care for my companions even when I could least afford it.

I have used Flannery's for several of my dogs and have always had a great experience. The staff are extremely kind, friendly, and gentle with the animals. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet.

I have been going to Flannery's for 18 years. I have had three Beagles and one cat over these years and they always give the best care. The staff is very friendly there. Recently my dog pinched a nerve in her neck, they saw me right away and only charged me for the shot to her neck, not an office visit. I was very appreciative since I was just in there 2 weeks before and had a large bill for an annual visit. Great doctors!!

I used to work for Flannery Animal Hospital for 6 years before I moved to Florida. It was the best job I ever had. I highly recommend this Hospital to any other around. The Doctors, techs and Receptionists are the most caring, loving people around. They truly care about your pets and the quality of service they give. If your in the area definitely call Flannery. Dr's Kryger and Puccio are the most kindhearted people I know.

I have been a client of Flannery's for the past 12 years. I ALWAYS request Dr. Evans who, in my opinion, is the best vet I have ever known - conservative, competent and caring. Dr. Puccio is an outstanding clinician as well. However, recently I have noticed the practice is too big and too busy and they are not delivering the quality of care that they used to. They need to hire more staff (maybe give raises to keep good employees) and look more carefully and their quality control. I am now considering leaving the practice due to recent mistakes and it is a shame.

The best Vets around! I have been going to Flannery Animal Hospital for 15 years. My Golden was a patient there for her entire life. She was well cared for and always healthy. I love the Drs. Especially Dr. Puccio. He is really caring. We dealt with several different health issues including shallow hips, lymes, hearing loss and partial blindness as the years went on. They told me how to prevent hip problems when she was a puppy (she never had them) and were always spot on with their treatments! I wouldn't go anywhere else! Two Thumbs up for Flannery Animal Hospital!

Dr. Kryger is the most compassionate experienced man in the business. A true seasoned veterinarian, he has the kind of common sense that instills trust in
his clients. I have been using flannery animal hospital for a very long time and would recommend them highly to anyone. As with any large successful
practice there are always a few naysayers who just can't accept that their animal cannot be saved. To those who have said such vile things I say too bad you have to take your anger out on such a wonderful bunch of people as this. As for me, I will remain loyal to the best place in the hudson valley!!!

I have been a client of flannery animal hospital for over 20 years. I started by taking our first Great Dane to see Dr. Flannery and yes there was a Dr. Flannery at one time. There are so many doctors now I cannot even keep track. Every time I make and appointment I see a different face. On my last visit with our new dog that came from a rescue in Kentucky, the doctor that saw us was one of the worst vets that I have come in contact with. She did not even listen to our concerns about the dog. She was just concerned about the fact he came from Kentucky and she did her internship there and mange runs ramp id there and insisted he had mange, tested him in 4 or 5 different areas on his body and it was negative. She still insisted he be treated for mange. I asked about his teeth, his hind leg and his muscle tone, all were ignored. I don't even think she heard rescue puppy, brown plaque teeth, something wrong with his hind leg. Upon taking him to get neutered with a free friends of animals certificate, from another vet (flannery does not accept friends of animals) his teeth needed to be cleaned, and his leg needs to be x-rayed it looks like it was broken and did not heal properly another $500 out of my pocket. The dog would have been covered under a 90 day free insurance policy if Flannery Animal Hospital diagnosed, or listened to my concerns which I did not bring up to the new Vet she told me about his leg and teeth. 4 dogs and 20 something years later I can no longer recommend Flannery Animal Hospital. THE DOCTOR CLIENT RELATIONSHIP NO LONGER EXISTS. THEY HAVE BECOME TOO BIG FOR THEMSELVES.

Flannery has done a great job of caring for my 16 year old dog and 5 year old cat. With regard to some earlier posts, medicine is not an exact science, and that goes for vet care, too. I can only speak from my experience, and the doctors and staff have always been professional and compassionate. My calls always get returned and the doctors are patient with me and answer all my questions.

I will say that not all the doctors there are on the same level. I highly recommend Drs. Longo and Winter. Both are so knowledgable and patient and even followed up on my dog after procedures to check on her.... most docs won't do that, especially in a busy practice like theirs. We have also seen Drs. Spiczek and Felty on one ocassion each, and they were both very good. I would stick with the doctors I listed, if possible, and you will have a good experience.

Flannery Animal Hospital is the only choice for my furry children.
The staff is so sweet and always professional.
Dr. Jay Stonefield is exceptional, his caring concern cannot be matched.
My puppy and two cats are in the healing hands of a man that truly loves animals and they love him.
Thank you Dr. Stonefield, you are the best !

My beautiful female German shepherd had a lump removed from her back. Right before her surgery I told Dr. Evans that I wanted the lump sent out to pathology no matter what. He said that he would do it as it was imperative to find out what the mass was. The next day Evans told me that he threw our dog's lump IT IN THE TRASH instead of sending it for pathology and then said it wasn't a big deal.
I have no idea what the lump was - I just hope it is nothing serious. Dr. Evans had no right to do that and it was absolutely negligent. Since I stopped going to Flannery Animal Hospital I have heard from 3 separate people that their dogs died during routine surgery to have their dogs neutered. These "vets" are incompetent.
Run away from this animal hospital if you love your animals!

I have used Flannery Animal Hospital for 20 years and have always experienced the highest standard of animal medicine available. My name is Eisblume. It has been one year and one day since I crossed over to Rainbow Bridge. Flannery Animal Hospital made the last year of my life so horrendous. In the last year of my life I received countless needle sticks for sub-q fluids, hundreds and hundreds of pills, and a myriad of other therapies to help my ailing kidneys. I almost died from acute renal failure and Flannery Animal Hospital did *nothing*. I was this ill because Evans, Kryger, Puccio, and Masucci DID NOT CARE about me - they MISSED a kidney infection and MISdiagnosed me - they said I was an "old dog" and my symptoms were normal for my age. I deserved to have a better last year of my life. Five months before I went into ARF I had beautiful blood work and I was so healthy. Why did they let me down....they DID NOT CARE about me and they shoved me into the *delete file*. Not long after, Flannery's altered and falsified my medical records and then refused to see me anymore.
I know that Kryger, Puccio, Masucci and Evans will walk down Karma Road and they and their families will be shown the same compassion and care that they gave to me and my human family.
Please search my name - 'Eisblume' on www.youtube.com to see my story. I did not have to die this way and they KNOW that they are fully responsible for what happened to me.

I have been using Flannery Animal Hospital since the late 70's and I still swear by them. Dr. Puccio is great especially when it comes to German Shepards BUT I have only been dealing with Dr. WInter the last few years. This woman is absolutely amazing when it comes to my animals, she takes her time with you, explains everything and truelly cares for the animal. My German Shepard is twelve years old and she was always very nervous at the vet until I started using Dr. Winter, she adores her. If I see something is wrong with Shianne and I want her looked at and Dr. Winter is booked, the staff will actually ask Dr. WInter if Shianne can get squeezed in and she always says absolutely. She is always happy to see my pets, and they are happy to see her.

It also great to have such a clean, hi tech 24 HOUR Emergency Animal Hospital in our area. I swear by these guys and have never ever dealt with a nother vet in my 38 years of life.

I have to say that Dr. Michael Kryger and Dr. Frank Puccio of Flannery Animal Hospital are in my opinion the most knowledgeable veterinarians in the entire Hudson Valley today. They both love dogs and enjoy working with them. I have to admit that there were a few quacks working there in the past and I personally did not like the founder Dr. Flannery himself as a veterinarian but these two are without a doubt the best in the area today. Especially when it comes to my German Shepherd dogs, and I have been around German Shepherd dogs for over forty five years. The rest of the staff are no slouches either. They each seem to have their own area of expertise which makes this an excellent place to seek care for your pet. When one is not sure of a particular situation they will not hesitate to bring in the expert and take a step back to help ensure the best possible diagnosis and care for you pet/companion. I personally will not bring my dogs anywhere else as long as these two veterinarians are at The Flannery Animal Hospital.

.

My dog recently passed away because she was misdiagnosed at Flannery. They were treating her for something she didn't even have and overlooked what was really going on. I saw 3 vets there at different appts. and only 1 had some sort of clue. My poor dog suffered and could of still been here if she was properly treated and diagnosed.

PROS: large staff, quick appt., friendly front desk staff
CONS: not all vet's are knowledgeable

If you need a vet dont even think of going anywhere else.
Dr. Mike and his staff are the best in the area.
Caring and understanding.
They dont do birds but care for your dog like it was their very own.
Office is clean and friendly staff. Great hours.
They are expensive but what vet isnt. They will work with you so dont be discouraged not to go.
Explain to the staff what the problem is and I am sure thaywill respond in a positive way..

When we lived in NY, we used Flannery Animal Hospital numerous times. I really loved this office. The office was always very clean. And the staff were also happy, Helpful and Friendly. I have never had a problem with them. We also loved the HUGE waiting area. I would reccomend this office to anyone.
