Having our Labrador retriever run twice a week has been fantastic! Karl displays a great love not just for our dog, but for animals in general. Glad that we found out about Team Running Paws and we're able to set up a schedule with them!

Running Paws is great! Jerome is Sassy's running partner and he's so fabulous with her.\r
They have a terrific 1/2 hour run in the middle of the day -- it's very reassuring to me to know\r

They were so wonderful with my goldendoodle Baron! Baron started going to running paws when I was 7 months pregnant and I couldn't give him all the exercise he needed. From the first day, I could tell that this was an amazing place. It was clean, the staff were friendly and knowledgable. He came home happy and tired and was always excited to go back.

Once the baby came, the dog walker associated with running paws would pick him up in the morning for a little extra help!

We've also boarded Baron there a few times. Again, he comes home, healthy, happy and tired. I get a full report of how he was and if there were any issues.

I also think that Josh and Seth handle issues with dogs responsibly and diplomatically. All the dogs are temperament tested before they can stay at running paws, but Baron and another dog tried to go after each other one day. They immediately separated them and notified me of possible aggressive behavior (of course I was mortified), but they then recommended some actions to correct this and let me know that if it continued, I would need to have him work with a trainer before he could come back. Since it was an isolated incident, he didn't need to, but I appreciated that they took aggressive behavior seriously and worked to prevent any incidents with the dogs.

We've also used Jim the groomer there and he does a fabulous job on Baron! He's clearly patient with him and listens to me as to how I'd like him to look.

Overall, this place is an absolute godsend! I have no reservations about recommending this place to any dog lover!

My yellow lab Bodhi has been using running paws since he was 10 weeks old. He started out in their puppy program and continued to get walks from Jerry twice a week. Twice a week Bodhi goes to the daycare facility. If I wasn't moving out of town I would continue there services indefinitely.
I have been delighted with the services from running paws. Jerry has been with Bodhi since he was just a little pup. He is very reliable and now walks several dogs in my building. The daycare is fantastic as well. Bodhi is very comfortable around all the other dogs at the daycare. The staff is friendly, safe, and Bodhi comes home and sleeps all night.
We have also started obedience training there with who's walking who which has been fantastic. It's really convenient to be able to get so many services for Bodhi all in one place.

This is a really terrific dog running service. They come to your apartment, pick-up the dog and run them in a safe, caring and loving manner. They are very reliable, flexible and were always there to help me out in a jam if I couldn't get to my dog in time. The runs are a terrific way to give city dogs the exercise they desperately need, and this service is A+++. Highly recommend to everyone.

Let me start by saying I have been looking for a new dog club for a few months now. I happened to be in the area and thought to stop in and check this place out. An elder gentlemen greeted me at the front desk and that was literally where his professionalism ended. I was a bit disappointed because the place looked awesome. He just seemed very preoccupied and too busy to gain a potential new client. I went home and decided to try to call in for some info. Matt, a different worker at Running Paws, spent almost 30 min on the phone with me, detailing all the benefits and particulars on the services offered and even invited me in to see the space again. He was so nice, professional, and most of all you can tell how much he truly cares about every dog in the place. When I went in, other club members were coming in and dropping off theirs dogs..Matt knew each owner and dog by name, and every dog went right to him for hugs and belly rubs! I was so impressed with him (and the cleanliness of the place) I decided to leave my dog there for one week. Upon picking him up, he was so happy, playfull and best of all CLEAN (Other places have sent him home smelling like a farm) He wasn't groomed, this is simply because Running Paws is extremely clean..period.. no urine smell or harsh chemicals AT ALL. Matt got on the floor and gave my little guy tons of hugs and kisses goodbye, He just adores Matt! The deal was sealed for me when, upon picking him up, Matt gave me a very detailed overview of his stay there, how he slept, ate, got along with other dogs, etc. This is HUGE because it shows the staff is paying attention to every single dog there, not just letting a free for all occur all day. I HIGHLY recommend this place and recommend asking for Matt's help. You will not be disappointed.

When I adopted my dog 6 years ago, he was a super-energetic dog who suffered from separation anxiety. Although we gave him a lot of exercise in the morning and the evening, the vet recommended brisk exercise during the day. I found Running Paws, which was a relatively new company. My dog responded so positively to his midday runs and the separation anxiety eventually went away. The runners that have been with my dog throughout the years have been great. The company is exceptional at hiring trustworthy, dependable people who truly love dogs. I work from home sometimes and often see my dog when he returns -- he is tired and happy. And though he is a shy dog around men, he has loved nearly all his runners, male and female, as they have been very caring towards him. The runners also are very careful about anytime my dog doesn't seem right, or isn't feeling well, and points this out to me. He is now 9 years old, and has pretty much grown old with Running Paws. I am sad to say that next week is his last week with Running Paws, as we are moving to California. I can't stress enough what a great company this has been for dogcare, both daily runs as well as overnight stays, which we have done numerous times. I've heard lots of terrible stories about dogwalkers and there are many disreputable people out there who claim to care about your dog but really don't. With Running Paws, there is no need to worry about who's taking care of your dog, they are absolutely dependable.

After reading review below I felt compelled to at least share our experience with the Running Paws daycare. I'm sorry that happened to your dog and I hope he is doing much better! We have been a client for over a year and have always been extremely happy with them. We moved to NYC from Chicago where we've been sending our dog to daycare since she was 5 months old. When we moved we read great reviews about Running Paws and they have met our expectations. They always let us know if they think something is wrong and I would go as far as to say they might go even a little overboard but that's why I love them.

Just recently they heard our dog sneezing and they asked me to take her to the vet to make sure it was not Kennel Cough or Canine Influenza, fortunately for us it was just allergies. Additionally they sent out an informative email about Canine Influenza which I thought was such a responsible thing to do.

Keep it up Running Paws, we're lifelong members!!

Our pup nearly died because his 5-day stay here. On day 4 of boarding staff mistook pup's newly acquired wheezing for kennel cough - even tho he'd been vaccinated for Bordetella (which was on file). Upon his return home, Pup was exhausted, couldn't move. Staff said this was normal, a result of their comprehensive exercise regime. Two days later pup still couldn't move, nor could he breathe. Had really high fever and runny nose. Vet diagnosed pneumonia. Poor thing was isolated & intensive care for 48 hours and nearly died. Need I tell you how we were frightened? Running Paws likened pup's pneumonia to a kid getting chicken pox in the first grade. HUH?

Running Paws staff is second to none when it comes to exercising our large dog at doggie daycare as well as taking care of him during sometimes necessary overnight stays.

Whether it is day care, boarding or grooming, we have found their extensive services to greatly outperform other dog care facilities we have used in New York. Their personal approach to dog care makes you feel confident in leaving your pet in their care.

I highly recommend their services! You won't be disappointed.

I have been taking my dog to Running Paws for almost two years now and am still amazed by how well-run it is. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a safe and friendly place to take their dog. The employees will do anything to accommodate their customers. Trust me, without even meaning to, I have put them to the test! I have called last minute to get my dog walked home and they made it happen. I have called last minute to have her boarded overnight and they let her stay. I have asked if they could fit her into the groomer's schedule and when they could, they made it happen. They go out of their way for their customers and make me feel that my dog is in great hands when I drop her off there.

This is a place where the employees are genuine and know every dogs name and personality and actually care about their well-being. My dog had to have surgery on her hip and was out for a month at one point. They took the time to call me frequently to check in on her because they actually cared about her.

If you are looking for a trustworthy place where the employees treat your dog and care about your dog as if he/she was their own, this is a place you must check out!

What a disaster. Jim, who had groomed my doggy before, had an accident and the grooming had to be rescheduled. After two reschedulings, they finally brought in a substitute groomer. I was apprehensive about using her, but they insisted that she was highly experienced. It took 3-1/2 hours to groom him, which was insane. Plus, she gave him a short cut when I told her I wanted him to stay shaggy. Worse, after I took him home, the poor pup kept licking his private parts and rubbing his butt. When it didn't improve, we took him to another groomer, who told us that the previous groomer had not completely cleaned the anal sacs. She finished the job (at no cost) and the dog is back to his old self. She also commented on the cut, as too short for the season. Never will I go back to Running Paws...they obviously do not sufficient checking on their groomers. For more professional grooming go to Remes Oggi Pets on 54th and 1st.

Running Paws is the greatest doggie daycare in New York State not just NYC. As an owner of 5 dogs I can say that I did more of my share of research for Doggie Daycares. My hounds have been to a few daycares over the years. Running Paws is by far the absolute best. The staff is courteous, friendly, caring and very loving towards the dogs. Their facility is amazing and my dogs love it. I live in Bronx, NY and travel 20 miles in traffic just to get my dogs to the best doggie daycare around. Running Paws is AMAZING!!!!

I read a few reviews that say Running Paws is expensive. They aren't any more expensive than other day care and boarding places. I have been to 2 other dog daycares and I can say from experience that I spend less at Running Paws than I did anywhere else. They have no membership fee and the setting is ideal for any good dog.

I can't express how good this place is. The key selling point for me was that they do not allow aggressive dogs. We all have heard some horror stories about day cares, but the manager knew every dog in there and really did everything he could to ease my mind (ask my husband... that isn't easy to do!). Being able to watch my dog play through their glass wall was great! I would recommend this place to any dog owner looking for day care!

The groomer at Running Paws was Chloe's first groomer (at a different salon) and I was elated to have found him again. Chloe greeted Jim like a long, lost uncle! Jim not only provides the absolute best grooming, but also, he is gentle and caring . . . the consummate professional! As we walked out of the salon, a tourist stopped to take Chloe?s photo . . .

The groomer at Running Paws was Chloe's first groomer (at a different salon) and I was elated to have found him again. Chloe greeted Jim like a long, lost uncle! Jim not only provides the absolute best grooming, but also, he is gentle and caring . . . the consummate professional! As we walked out of the salon, a tourist stopped to take Chloe?s photo . . .

I was trying to get the perfect place for Pookie to get her first grooming and my boyfriend told my about running paws, I checked the reviews and I realized that was the only place that had great reviews and 5 stars.
So I decided to take her, and what can I say? Everything was great, the customer service was wonderful and the way that they treated Pookie was awesome.....I'm really happy with the service that they offer...

I took my puppy here for his first grooming and was informed he had to be shaved because of matting (a common problem). I was upset when I heard this, but the staff was extremely considerate and let me take the time to think about what was best for my puppy. They were patient and my puppy got a wonderful haircut, he looked great and he pranced around for hours after the cut - he was so happy! He even wanted to stay and play after the grooming session. I definitely recommend it.

Cons: May be hard to get an appt.

We've used Running Paws for 2 years and LOVE them. Our little dog is always happy to see his runner (they hire great people), and he comes home from his sessions well-exercised and content. I'd recommend Running Paws to anyone with an energetic, active dog.

My 7 month old puppy loves Running Paws. The staff is so honest. They will tell you exactly what your dog has been up to. That makes me feel very comfortable leaving my puppy there. They notice the littlest scratches on my dog and let me know if the dog has any loose stools. The care they give my baby is outstanding. Second to none!

My dog LOVES this place. He's 12 and sorta mean -- ok, I'll be honest, he starts fights in Central Park all the time. But he's a changed canine since going to Running Paws. Now, he's a lover, not a fighter. He drags me an entire block to get there. The staff is honest and so nice. Once, my dog had a scratch on his ear (from the park) and they called to let me know about it. I took him to Biscuits and Bath before and it was the biggest dump. He crapped blod because they deprived him of water on a 90-degree day.

Running Paws is an amazing place! The staff is honest, down to earth and great with all the dogs! Our dog is in love with with Matt! He knows all the little quirks our dog has and has given us great advice on how to handle him in our apartment. This is a well run business and you can tell they all love their jobs. We have seen great improvment in our dogs attitude toward people and other dogs! I would recommend Running Paws to everyone! Can't beat their services!

I started with Running Paws in 2004 and have been extremely happy with their service. They are extremely professional and I feel confident knowing someone will always get back to me very quickly. My dog loves her runner, and since she's been with Running Paws she has lost 7 pounds. I'm constantly impressed with their professionalism- both in the office and from the runners my dog has had. I completely trust them with my baby and I highly reccommend them to anyone.

Ever see the dog walkers with 30 dogs at one time? Do you really think the dogs are enjoying themselves?

Running Paws dog-runners give attention to the one or two dogs they have - the runners devote themselves to that one dog - the dogs seem happier running, especially if they don't have to compete with 30 other dogs.

I recently adopted a rescue puppy and as soon as I brought him home I contacted several places that care for puppies and walk/exercise dogs. Puppy Paws (Running Paws) got back to me the same day and set up an in-home meeting immediately. He came over and met my puppy and seemed to be genuinely interested in the what his needs were going to be as he grew. Of course, we went through the standard forms and dollars and cents stuff too, but he spent more time asking me questions that would help his team best care for my new puppy. He explained how they were able to tailor their service to my puppy's changing needs as he grew and with my preferences as his 'Daddy'.

I have had a couple of negative situations where things haven't worked out to my satisfaction or a mistake has been made. I addressed it directly and it was always handled quickly and professionally. There is no run-around with these folks.

I often call at the last minute to see if they can stop by to look in on my puppy and almost every time they seem to make it work.

Most of all, my puppy gets to see the same person consistently and has developed a positive rapport with him.

I do not trust easily - especially when it comes to my precious puppy. I do not hesitate to recommend Puppy Paws/Running Paws to anyone I talk to. In fact, I have already referred one person!

Simply put...I love 'em! I love 'em! I love 'em!

I have been a client of Running Paws for three years and could not be more pleased with their service. I would highly recommend Running Paws to any urban dog owner. My hyper pitbull is a calmer, happier dog as a result of this service. I have had a few different runners over the three years and all of them have been professional and more importantly, dog lovers. The managers are extremely responsive and accommodating to changes in your schedule. Thank you Seth and Josh. You guys really are life savers!

Let me jump on the bandwagon. I, like everyone else, felt guilty for leaving my dog alone all day and the dog walker just wasn't getting the job done in terms of keeping him fit and healthy. We were introduced to Running Paws through another client who was walking his dog and are happy he recommended them. My dog LOVES his daily run with Running Paws and now he gets to run with that dog! He would run three times a day if he could. He is definitely in better shape. If there is a downside it is that he now has more energy than ever before! Running seems to get him revved up for more. Fortunately, the runners high only lasts a few minutes, then he is ready for a good long nap.

We took him to a park in Westport, CT one time where dogs are allowed to run freely off leash and he was in heaven. He had all of the other dogs chasing after him, running in circles and doubling back. They were tumbling over each other. The other dog owners wanted us to bring him back every day. Unfortunately, city life doesn't offer that freedom. I believe Running Paws is the next best thing. We are fortunate to have such a great group of people doing what we cannot do -- exercising our dog.

As a longtime client all I can say is that Running Paws consistently exceeds my expectations. Everytime I call them with a last minute request and I think for sure they won't be able accomodate they find a way to get the job done. The management is detail oriented, responsive, and does a better job than most of the people I interact with daily.
