I had Visited Tamarind Arts Abstract Etude Show Recently and I spotted very interesting works of this Artist Himanshu Desai - he is an artist who is so observative and attached to the things and environment around him. He has an artist approach to even most trying and testing things like the traffic movement, which I would say is a problem of great magnitude in most places. When one is out in the traffic all that they would think about is "how do I get past this terrificly slow moving traffic and reach my destination as we dont have the time and mindset to enjoy in Such a situation, while here is Himanshu who has shown how the terrifying traffic in fusion with rain drops transform into something so beautiful and simple yet complex.

I had visited the Gallery, if Im writing this review then , overall it was a wonderful experience being there. Loved all the display of the artists, Antonio Puri, Himanshu Desai and Nitin Mukul . Each of them being unique and sticking to the exhibition itself, definitely abstract without a doubt. I would definitely recommend anyone to visit this exhibition at Tamarind Art Gallery. This exhibition is open for more than a month till March 14th. The gallery is open from Monday through Saturday; in this case you can always pay there a visit on weekends if you think you don?t have the time on a weekday.

?Windshield? is a nice name given to his art. Photographs imitate the traffic and the lights that lay before the glass thought the water droplets. Its quite abstract indeed. A nice way to have captured it on film and result its digital prints. This is showcased in the Tamarind Art Gallery , NY. A must see.

Tamarind Art is currently hosting a new exhibition called Abstract Etude from February 10th to the 14th of March 2009. Featuring the art and new media works by 3 talented artists. The main theme running through the exhibition is Abstraction. Completely new and yet exquisite in its own way each Artist present their work in totally different and unique perspectives. These art are not confined to a particular place or time or situation. I suggest all of them to go visit this place and get inspired.

hello, this has been a very good place to express our views. when i visited this site i was not aware of the use of this. but when i read the reviews and when i saw the way people are interacting then i also thought of exhibiting my views so that i can share my thoughts.

when i went to tamarind art gallery last week then i was very much impressed by Nitin Mukul paints on ice and videotapes it as it decomposes. The melting ice echoes the increasing frequency of floods, hurricanes and other natural disasters. The beautiful pinks give way to dull yellows and browns. it was so nice to see them. when you visit there do not forget to have a glance at them as it is really worth of watching them...

One of the artist at the Abstract Etude in Tamarind Art Gallery ,Himanshu has depicted Dante?s masterpiece ? The Divine Comedy ? through his new video art ? Paradiso? . With various effects of light, smoke and music that was created and composed by Himanshu itself gives that celestial feel and look. The low resolution video has brought out a new perspective an art in itself. The whole ingredients to this video was a perfect blend and couldn?t have been better.

i would like to describe the art Meltdown 1-Red Raga by Nitin Mukul as the best one as the way he designed that art is great. when i saw that art i did not get much but when i listened what they said then i was shocked by the meaning it has in it. It says "The melting ice echoes the increasing frequency of floods, hurricanes and other natural disasters. The beautiful pinks give way to dull yellows and browns" Really this art impressed me a lot and i would like to appreciate Nitin for the work done

The exhibits by Antonio Puri at tamarind art gallery are very different from the usual arts. the paints which he used for making those arts gave them the special look to them. He painted strokes utilize oils mixed with coffee grounds, shellac, scrapes of fabric and baltik. so by means of this all his arts had a different look. The time when i went there i saw him and he standing a mere foot from the canvas, seeing the picture and explaining the vast movement of splatter, and the geometry of a circle. he left the viewer to personalize their interpretation of his work. you must hear to the explanation given by him and it is really different and you will also be impressed a lot by his work

Hey Antonios 9 scrolls should say is been titled aptly 'conversation with pollock' . His work does exhibit the characteristics/shades of the splendiferous Pollock. Incorporating his influence of Budhist Culture picked up by him in the himalayan region with modern Art is definately Outstanding. I Love the the 9 Scrolls. And also I would Appreciat Tamarind Arts efforts in Showcasing such resplendent Artists :-)

When ever you visit tamarind art gallery then you will be in two minds when you see an art. for a normal person like me it is really difficult the artistic view behind that art. that is why there will be supporting staff who are so helping in nature and they will explain you clearly regarding each and every thing. When we listen to the explanation given by them then you will come to know the different view which the artist had for that. so never miss the explanation given by the people there then only you can enjoy your visit.

Tamarind art gallery located at the heart of Manhattan and one of the premium galleries showcasing Indian Contemporary Art. It?s sure a gallery spoken of a lot. To the fast growing and globalizing modern world where the art, there is a need to know of the cultural heritage of India and its glory. Showcasing work of the modern artist with their perspectives of India is at its best. They mostly have bi annual exhibitions. It?s not just art that they are limited to but it goes on to music, performing art, book launches and various cultural programs. It does have a fabulous ambience. Neat and quite space where one can admire and get inspired by the display with absolute no disturbance or interference. Totally amicable staff gives you a feeling on comfort and at ease.

Meltdown Series by Artist Nitin being Exhibited at the Tamarind Art Gallery is something I really loved. Its Truely Amazing to see how natural resources change form and a careful observation of it could bring about heavenly joy to one. And the corelation of this to the existing situation and changes happening to the environment is splendid.

Tamarind Art Gallery is located at 39th Street and opened for 5 years now committed to Indian contemporary Art in any form be it painting, music , book launches or performing arts. It?s one of the prime galleries in North America dedicated to such art. I have been there and the ambience is just beautiful and the entire way of presentation is indeed a spectacle. The staff is helpful and friendly that you wouldn?t feel left out. Being a first timer to the gallery I was a bit apprehensive about my visit initially but I was proved wrong. Within few minutes of being there I felt at home and was so engrossed in the art, didn?t know how the time flew. It was indeed an enriching experience walking through the gallery with the art explained even so a layman would understand.

I had been to the opening reception of this exhibition of Abstract Etude at Tamarind Art Gallery. It was just splendid. During the event, art work was described with regards to its origin, the theme, the methodology and a little background about the artists as well. It?s wonderful and considerate of the Tamarind Team that they are patiently willing to explain the art to the audience for those who are new. This I noticed as there was one inquisitive old lady who kept asking questions to one of the staff about the art. Despite of what it would seem annoyance on normal circumstances, the representative there had all the patience and kindness to satisfy the lady with the answers she was looking for. Great staff.

I did visit the exhibition ' Abstract Etude' at Tamarind Art Gallery, the work of Antonio Puri. It was a wonderful experience. he made his arts with vivid colors and bold strokes giving a rich and catchy surface finishing. Dips, splashes, strokes of paint add to the touch cosmic connection. Wonderful piece of art we can say it in all. Antonio Puri was born in Chandigarh, India. Most of his arts are combination of traditional concepts and modern abstract art.

The current exhibition that showcases works of some of the artists including Antonio Desai, at the Tamarind Art Gallery are just wonderful.
Antonio Puri has come out with three different pieces of art at this exhibition. All of them have stuck to the theme of abstraction. And each piece talks of different story running behind it. Its nice to see that more artists are getting involved and inspired by contemporary art. Antonio especially has been influenced by the famous painter Pollock with the stokes and dips and splashes of paint of various bright colors to imitate the work of Jackson Pollock. Well presented.

This was my first time at the Gallery. Currently they were hosting this exhibition called ' Abstract Etude '. It was great. I had seen other abstract art, but here it was lovely. With inclusion of new age media like videos and digital photographs, Art has indeed taken a good shape. Its good to know Indian artists where behind the brushes of all the work on display in this exhibition.

Tamarind Art gallery in Midtown is really a wonderful place to visit. I can?t specify any single artist there as all are awesome and one?s work is better than the others. M F Hussian, Prema Murthy, Mehu Patel, Bhupen Barman are some of the artists whose arts are being presented there and all the exhibits are worth watching. Even the people who work there are so friendly in nature and also explain clearly to us the creativity in any art present there.

I was simply amazed with my experiences at the Tamarind Art Gallery. I have told all my friends that they must visit the gallery. The Indian Art is breathtaking, and to make your time there even better and filled with the culture. Tamarind holds readings, and performing artist. You can actually meet the creator of your favorite piece and get a better understand or what the meaning behind it is. It was a very endearing and intimate experience that I would love to enjoy over and over.

The new show at Tamarind Art, "Mind, Matter and Mistique, features several well known Indian Artists and was quite fascinating, from colorful abstracts to works reminiscent of Frieda Kahlo. If you take the time to read through the descriptions of the work, you develop a profound appreciation of what these artists are trying to say. I can't recommend this show highly enough!!

This gem, in the heart of Midtown, still shines bright from every angle hosting many unique events such as book readings, lectures etc. Tamarind Art is the comet that soars higher and higher into space.
At the gala hosted there, the staff was so informative with my many questions, and their demeanor was elegant. This gallery will shine bright for many years to come. Mind, Matter, and Mystique was utterly sensational!! Aside from the inclement weather, people came near and far, such as myself, to see this magnificent gallery. Highly recommended. A must see!
