My dog has two cruciate repairs with Dr Scanlon. The records from the 1st surgery stated her Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) was completely torn and removed. The records from her 2nd surgery stated that a specific portion of her meniscus was torn and removed. Well today she had a 3rd cruciate repair with an Orthopedic Surgeon. The orthopedic surgeon found that not only was her PCL still present it was completely intact. He also found that the portion of menicus that they stated was removed was still present and torn. A vet clinic is required to keep accurate medical records. Not only were the medical records wrong, they failed to correct their errors from the 1st surgery, ie say that her PCL was not removed and is intact. I have no problem with Dr Scanlons 2 surgeries failing, that can happen, but I do have a problem with my dogs medical records being grossly inaccurate, which probably means there are more pets with miss information in their medical records.
