i ate there with my girlfriend tonight, 6.3.2010. she ordered steak. after taking one bite, she immediately realized the meat was rancid. it had an aroma of a dirty sock and the consistency was moosh. it was rotting!! they did nothing but replace her order with another questionable 'fresh meat' dish. the manager's comment when confronted: 'it happens!" i will never eat there again. if you value your health, you will not either.

Two friends and I recently tried Azul for the first time. We're always in the area but have never been particularly drawn to the restaurant. Turns out is was for good reason. While I appreciate the casualness of "cafe style" service, we found it difficult to get napkins and forks - none were out for self service and we found it difficult to get from the server (who, I should add, was at least pleasant). We each had a different dish - tortilla soup, steak taco, and a steak burrito - each were disappointing. The tortilla soup had an unsavory flavor and was filled with tofu, the taco was a teenie tortilla with a tiny pile of dry steak and cilantro, and the burrito was filled with the same steak, chopped tomatoes, cheese, some herbs, and topped with a red sauce that tasted too close to ketchup for my liking. With the variety of great Mexican food restaurants available, I feel comfortable with not returning to Azul.

Pros: Colorful art, free chips

Cons: The food
