My husband and I had a hot stone couples massage. The massages themselves were fine (I've had better, but mine wasn't bad). But I have no idea why you would ever choose this spa for the spa itself. The locker rooms were TINY -- there were approximately 20 lockers in the female locker room and 8 in the men (both with 2 rows of small lockers). In the women's locker room, the area where the lockers are is approximately 6 by 7 feet. There isn't a bench. And the lockers are cheap cheap cheap. There is a steam room and 2 showers in the women's locker room (1 shower and a steam room in the men's). The steam rooms are not Eucalyptus. And that's it. No other facilities. No fun body scrubs (like at the Houstonian) or whirlpools or saunas. And the only toiletries in the women's locker room are the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the showers, a single can of spray deoderant and a container of mouthwash (apparently there were disposable toothbrushes and razors in the men's). But no hair products, etc. The waiting room for your service is tiny and has water -- that's it. No tea or coffee or juice. No little snacks. Nothing special. So, it's not so much that what they have is bad, it's that there's so much they don't have. I've visited many nice spas, several of which are in Houston. And I just guess I expect more. Our massages (80 minute hot stone) were $175 each plus gratuity. I think that's actually a little more than the other nicer spas in town. But you get much much less for your money. If you're already in the hotel and want a quick service, I think it's fine. But I would never make a special trip to the ZaZa for their spa.
Pros: decent massages; pool area was pretty
Cons: cheap, cramped facilities; lacking in amenities
I was staying in the hotel and decided I would treat myself. My first step in the spa was great! I saw beautiful decor, was treated so professionally and with care. I was offered everything I could think of. The thing I liked most about this spa is that they didn't pressure me to get 50 services like a lot of other spas do. they let me wait there quietly and choose what I wanted. I opted for a massage that was out of this world, a facial that left my face looking smooth and vibrant, and a pedicure that made me fall asleep because the foot massage was phenominal! Thank you Za Spa
I was staying at the hotel and dined there as well. the next day i decided to unwind with a massage! Wow, is all i have to say. i was in heaven for a pure hour! Amazing time at the spa and I will be back! thank you, ;)
Pros: MASSAGE, DECOR, PROFESSIONAL STAFF
