I have been a client for some years now.I have always been treated promptly & courteously by the vet techs & especialy Doc truesdale. He has always taken the time to explain what ever reason I have been there for,the causes & the remedys.I have great confidence in him & would not consider any other vet unless it was a situation that he could not be reached which is rare.I would give them a 5 star rating anytime & highly reccomend him as most knowledgeable & hold him in the highest regard in his practice.

Do not waste your money here. I was a new customer referred by a colleague. I had an appointment for a Saturday, at 10:30AM, for my cat??s shots and annual check up. I arrived early because I wasn??t sure how long it would take me, as I??m new to the area. As I sat and waited, three additional parties arrived, also with 10:30 appointments, including a mother and daughter team with ??back to back? appointments. So there were four 10:30 appointments. I was brought into the examination room at 10:44, and proceeded to wait until 11:17 for Dr. Truesdale. As I waited, I heard him go to five other appointments, including the Mother and Daughter who were allowed to go together into the examination room (after me, I might add), which should not have been allowed, and he took care of both of their pets, even though the Mother had a later appointment, which he should not have done. I also listened in between the five appointments (six if you add in Mom) to multiple discussions between him and his staff about scheduling, etc. When he finally got me to me, he administered the shots and basically said good bye. I was really surprised that he did no examination of any kind, and only reviewed the notes when I mentioned an issue I had brought to the attention of the vet tech, and even then just pretty much blew it off. It was clear that he was busy, too busy for me. I asked Dr. Truesdale if he was the only Doctor working that day and he admitted that he was. I then asked why he would schedule four appointments at 10:30 if he was the only Doctor working and I got no answer. He made no basic or routine examination of my cat??s body, her eyes, ears, teeth, didn??t take her temperature, he only checked for blueness in her mouth when I inquired about hearing sporadic wheezing in case she had signs of asthma, and then said, ??Well, if I just walked in and saw her and you weren??t here, I??d say she was a healthy cat?, and the appointment pretty much ended there. After prompting about the lack of exam, such as asking if he might want to take her temperature, or feel her body for any anomalies, he then did those two things, but that was it. It was as though he couldn??t move on from my appointment quick enough, although with three other 10:30 appointments, I can understand why. So, already very irritated, I then got stuck waiting behind the mother and daughter who were paying for two appointments instead of one, while they tried to figure out both bills, made sure Mom got her AARP discount, etc., and noticed that one of the other 10:30 appointments was still in the waiting room. We made eye contact and let me tell you, he was clearly not too happy about it, as it was approaching 11:30 by then. It was the worst veterinary experience I??ve ever had. I coughed up $84.00, and now I have to make an appointment with another veterinarian for the same cat so that she can have the proper examination that Dr. Truesdale did not see fit to give her. It was a complete waste of my time and money. You couldn??t pay me to go there again and waste my money.

Had a very bad experience with a bird dying that was taken here. The bird had a bad reaction to some medicine, and when the office was called, the staff at the desk was completely rude and unhelpful. If they had been a little more helpful, maybe the bird would have lived. It was a terrible experience.

Dr. Truesdale is very nice. i'm not all that impressed with the female dr in there though. she seems a little ditzy. and there's one girl at the reception counter that appears completely uninterested in you or your pets. she's got no personality to be working with the public, especially people who may need a bit of comforting when their beloved pet is sick. i cringe every time i have to talk to her as she seems to be so rude. never smiled as long as i've been going there. she needs to remove the bug from up her butt or find another line of work. all i can think of is that maybe she's related and that's how she keeps her job there. i've never really waited that long at all like others have stated they did so i can't complain about that. i find them very pricey compared to pawtucket animal clinic. but since my dog is familiar with them i think it may be in her best interest to stay there. i just wish they would hire better helpers.....

I don't normally post reviews, but after the excellent experience that I had with my two cats at the clinic, I felt I had to. I have two cats - one 8 year with chronic stomatis. The vet I used to go to advised that the cat with stomatitis was only suffering from dental issues (gingivitis) and that expensive cleaning and then meds would help it. Neither did. It wasn't until I met with Dr Cowe that I was told that my cat's condition was permanent, and that cleaning teeth that would need to be extracted over time wasn't the best idea. My cat is now on a periodic injection to treat his symptoms. Dr Cowe returns my phone calls, promptly and treats my "Mel" firmly, but caringly (Mel can get a bit testy sometimes!)

The staff at the desk were very friendly, helpful and explained what every charge and midcation was for - more than you'd get at most clinics (I'm not sure why John S in his post thought differently) The practice is very very busy, so it has been my experience that you have to early for routine appointments. It's also been my experience that if your cat is ill, they will definitely make room for you!

Love Dr. Truesdale and Dr. Cowe! They are the best. We take all of our pets there. They were there for us when one of my cats had a urinary blockage and my vet (at the time) told me they could not help me (it was Gansett Animal hospital).

I took him to where my husband's dogs go to Dr. Truesdale and even though my cat was not currently their patient, they took him in. The girls at the front desk (especially Diane-love her!) are the best. They have to handle scheduled appointments and unscheduled, which is difficult. But when you are one of the emergency unscheduled, you are grateful.

They helped us through the loss of my old cat with dignity and grace. Dr. Cowe could not have been a more caring doctor when it was time to put my old cat down (he had cancer and was very sick). She let us stay in the room with him and you could tell she really cared for us and our old man cat. Truly a fabulous lady.

Now, Dr. Truesdale is taking care of our old lady dog who has a heart condition. He is a knowledgeable and caring doctor. You cannot go wrong if you come to his vet practice. They are the best around.

This clinic has the rudest and most clueless staff of any vet I've ever been to. They are very short with you and get annoyed when you ask questions, they had me going back and forth trying to figure out what meds I needed for my dog, because neither the doctor nor the tech could figure out what needed to be treated or what meds had originally been prescribed . The doctor told me he had tested positive for coccidia and the tech told me the file said he was negative. They told me to go wait to talk to the doctor and 20 minutes later she (Dr. Cowe) came in and was very rude to me. When I tied to pick up the meds they still were confused as to which were prescribed. Apparently the doctor to tech communication is horrible. They told me they price matched the meds, but the websites they match did not have what they prescribed to a tee. (for example the website only carried 960 mg. tabs instead of 480 mg tabs, so they refused to price match and they prescribed and ointment made by one company and even though the website had an ointment with the same drug, it was made by a different company, so they wouldn't match it) Dr. Truesdale diagnosed my Mom's do with a serious condition and sent her to a specialist in Boston for a procedure that costed $2,000. After the procedure, when the dog only worsened, she found out that Dr. Truesdale misdiagnosed the dog and my Mom was out $2,000 and he would not compensate her. I'm just disgusted with this vet. I'll NEVER go back!

This is the best Vet we have ever had the chance to work with. We would definitely recommend everyone to use them. As a matter of fact we have fellow bog breeder/owners that come from NH use Central Ave Veterinary Hospital. #1 choice all the staff there are confident and Knowledgeable. We like to thank them for their professionalism and courteousness.

I have had nothing but great experiences when dealing with Dr Truesdale. I have gone to his practice over time for 35 years and never had a bad experience. He was always, and still is, very knowledgable, pleasant and always took the time necessary to answer all my questions. I find his fees very reasonable and I have never had to wait beyond a reasonable time. I have recommended him to several people with the utmost respect for him and confidence that their pet would get the best of care.As for the office staff, they are very busy but if you ask them a question and let them know you need their help they will take the time to address your needs.

Well, you know, if another pet was in an accident, would you mind waiting for it to your healthy animal to be seen? this is part of a vet's practice. I have raised dogs for 40 years and consider Dr. Truesdale to be a gem. he is brilliant in reproductive medicine as well and the most reasonable prices and the best in New England. This is a great place to take your pets. Dr. Truesdale is an exceptional veterinarian. He took great care of our dog for almost 12 years. He has improved and updated his office so that there is more room in the waiting room so that all pets can wait their turn comfortably.

As long as you don't mind a long wait, a crowded waiting room and a seemingly very rude desk staff. The doctor and aids that helped once you got into an exam room were terrific. However you get the overall impression that they cannot wait to get you outta there. After speaking with another persona waiting, apparently it isn't uncommon to wait in upwards of an hour to be seen. While the doctor was a very nice man and seemed to know what was what - I felt like there was no time to talk to him.

The only reason why I would go back is because of how close they are (my kitty HATES car rides with a passion) and they are cheaper in price. Then again - I suppose you get what you pay for.
