I was disappointed with Sweet. I checked reviews in Boston for cupcakes for my friend's birthday and Sweet had mixed reviews. I decided to check it out and was thoroughly disappointed. The negative reviews were right. Namely, Sweet's red velvet is NOT red velvet. It was very bland. In fact, all of the cupcakes were bland (I tried 6 different ones). The cupcakes were small, dry (you would want them moist obviously) and expensive ($3 per cupcake). Honestly, I feel like I could have made better cupcakes from a box. Also, there was way too much frosting. The only thing I liked about my experience was the box that the cupcakes came in. Other than that, I would suggest trying another cupcake business like Party Favors in Coolidge Corner. They are bigger and better by far.

Pros: nice presentation, box is good

Cons: size, quality, price

Good location, neat, clean little shop but way too pricey. The cupcakes are fine, but they're not excellent so to pay that much is a rip off. There are much better cupcake shops around town. The red velvet is not a red velvet. They need to learn to make it for real or call it something else. You can't just put food coloring in it and call it red velvet. Don't waste your money.

I love Sweet. Who doesn't love Sweet? You can't hate on delicious cupcakes. But I ran into some frustrations with delivery, and wanted to give you the info, Dear Reader, because knowing is half the battle.

Delivery info not on their website:

1. The dozen minimum for delivery applies to big cupcakes only. There's a 20 minimum for mini cupcakes.

2. They don't make filled cupcakes in mini form. I guess I should have realized this ahead of time, but not often working in the medium of cupcake I have no idea how easy/hard it is to fill a mini cupcake. (that's not about delivery, but good to know anyway.)

3. They deliver within a window of time. Like the cable guy.

To be fair, their business is not delivery, but cupcakes. I'll definitely order from Sweet again (my co-workers would have my head if I didn't) but I'll use RunMyErrand instead.

Pros: unique flavors, high quality ingredients

Cons: delivery is meh

Great variety and super cute mini cupcakes, however on the pricier side. Great carrot cake (with gold leaf), red velvet, boston creme etc etc. Definitely a great gift for a bday :)

My sister introduced me to Sweet when I was visiting her in Boston and now I have to make to trip to Sweet every time I am there. I was there on New Years eve and out walking in the snow and my sister said "make sure you stop at Sweet to get cupcakes" and I didn't. Cute location, pleasant staff now they just need lattes.
