This is a great restaurant to find sustainable vegetarian dishes. Their motto is "From field to fork" and I feel like they really stand by it! The owner gets his ingredients from local producers. I recommend the banana bread french toast next time you're there!

Waited ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES for a meal. There were 6 other people in the restaurant, total.

about halfway through the wait (45 minutes or so) the server came over and told us one of the meals we ordered was no longer available!! WHAT? And you couldn't have figured that out before 45 minutes had elapsed?

The Server knew we were unhappy and TOTALLY ignored us. No aplology for the wait, nothing.

The only reason we stayed was because it was getting late and we figured why leave and drive around looking for another place.

This was about a year ago. At the time I thought it was just because they were new and needed to get it together, but it looks as though that's not happened yet.

The food was mediocre. Nothing I cared to go back for. I really wanted to love this place because there is so little left in this town for vegetarians.

I just don't understand how it could take that long for 2 simple meals to come out when the place is nowhere near full? It really made me wonder what they are doing in the kitchen?

I would absolutely never ever go back again.

Pros: good selection of vegetarian items

Cons: They just don't care about service AT ALL

My date and I went to Cafe Agri for Valentine's Day. We reviewed the tasting and a la carte menus prior to our visit, and decided to try a number of the a la carte entree selections, as the tasting menu didn't light us on fire. When we arrived - with reservations - we stood in the entryway for quite a while before anyone took notice of us. When we finally got menus, we were told that three of the six entree selections had been 86'ed. I was shocked - it was Valentine's Day, but it was only 8. We debated whether we should leave, but knew our options were limited in terms of seating at other restaurants. So, we stayed and ordered a bottle of wine. Again, our selection was gone. We chose something else and tried to make the most of things. We ended up ordering the tasting menu, and the entree - a wild mushroom risotto - was undercooked and lacked flavor. The "cookie party" dessert was boring, considering the name.

We really wanted to like this restaurant. The eye toward organic and sustainable ingredients is something we appreciate, and the restaurant's atmosphere is quaint and romantic. Unfortunately, the food and the service were poor. At one point, our server told the newly arrived guests who sat next to us that one of the a la carte menu items was, in fact, available - one that she told me was gone and one that I had really wanted to try. They ordered it with enthusiasm only to find out 5 minutes later that it was, indeed, not an option.

Given that the sign outside of the restaurant read "reservations only" I assumed that the service and the kitchen were prepared for a busy night. They were not. We were really disappointed. Two stars only because we feel this place has a lot of potential. They just don't deliver at this point in time.

When you drive by a place that looks cool on a Sunday morning and you see two people in side you might think to yourself, "Hey, that place looks cool, I should stop in there and try out some breakfast with my friends, I bet the wait won't be too long." WRONG. We waited over an hour for 5 tiny ($10) egg scrambles. When we were sat we were a few of 7 people in the restaurant total. What gives. Service was horrible, coffee's were not refilled, water's were not refilled etc. etc. At one point the waitress came over and told us they were "running low" on potatoes and asked my husband if he'd like something else. It seemed weird that his potatoes were the target of this famine since we were all getting potatoes with our breakfast. The only reason he ordered the Veggie Burger is because he wanted to try out the potatoes that came with iy. Finally it's been an hour, our food arrives.... but wait not all of it, 4 of the 5 meals arrive. The fifth shows up 3 minutes later. The worst part about this whole experience is that the waitress totally knew that we were unhappy, it was obvious that the food was taking way too long and that we were not happy, I am amazed she did not acknowledge any of this, she did not apologize or offer us anything for free, she could have at least offered to take the coffee's off our tab, nothing. NOTHING. If she would have acknowledged our wait I might not be here posting about what a horrible experience I had. We finish our meal wait for our check, which is not coming, we put on our jackets, wait for the check, and ahha, she gets it, we're ready to leave. Anyhow, we ended the meal, 1 and a half hours later, the tab was $65 bucks and not worth any of it.

I thought the food was great and the service was great. p.s. most importantly not pretentious. What a great find, one of my new favs.

Knowing the owner's previous dining ventures at Nochee and other flops, I was hesitant to visit Agri. But from the second I walked I was struck by the different approach Fabrizio was taking. Everything on the menu looked fantastic and diverse, the wine list and pricing is superb, the decor is quaint and classy. Everything indicated that this restauranteur has matured and settled in with pride in what is offered. The integrity of the ingredients from local/small business goods make this place an easier sell than honey to a bear! Because it's all brought in daily/weekly, some things do run out occasionally. But the wine deals more than make up for it and the variety that is offered is uncomparable. Kudo's to this small bistro for finally getting it right!

Pros: Wine list!

Cons: About to be discovered by the masses and I'll never get a table!

I gave this restaurant 1 star because of the lack of service. And when I say lack of service, I mean NO service! My date and I happened to drive by this place and the sign caught our eye with "from field to fork". By that we thought it must use local, fresh ingredients and were excited to try it, thinking we might have stumbled across an awesome new restaurant. We walked in and stood waiting for probably about 10 minutes but not because there were so many others waiting to be seated, but because nobody working there approached us. We were discussing that maybe we just seat ourselves and trying to decide where to sit because there were a few open tables when finally someone came over with menus and asked us if we would like to sit inside or outside. So this is my first suggestion - put a sign at the front door saying "please wait to be seated" or "please seat yourself". Maybe there was one there and we both missed it so if there is one, make it more visible. We decided to sit outside and we sat there for about 20 minutes with no service and decided that we had enough and just got up and left. We saw a couple of waitresses coming and going but all the while just walking by our table with no eye contact or "I'll be right with you". We tried to get the attention of one but she just ignored us! There was a couple that sat at the next table to ours and they were successful in getting her attention and I heard them ask her if there were any specials. She told them and then started to walk away and they then said that they were ready to order. We also noticed that she must have forgotten to bring a dish of something to the table next to us. This is not a big deal but with all of this combined, I think it is safe to say that this place has horrible service. We saw the menu and we would have loved to try some of the items but we NEVER got waited on!! We were so irritated and hungry that we decided to leave. This place needs to get some decent service or they will not make it.

This is a nice little local restaurant. Organic and local food on the menu. The raw beets are awesome. My only complaint is that I am a bread junkie and all they have is gluten free bread, yeah I know it supposed to be good for you but like I said I'm a bread junkie and the gluten free stuff just does not cut it! This would be a 5 star rating if they had an good baguette.
