.

Ok, I VERY rarely write a review for anything...it has to be REALLY good or REALLY bad. But after reading the reviews others have posted for Portrait Innovations, I felt like I needed to say a few things.
#1-I noticed alot of people making comments such as "the photographers are not photographers" and "the pictures were not good". I have used PI several times, for holiday pictures for my family and for my 3 month old little girl. What did these people think they were getting for $9.95?? In my experience, the staff was always very friendly. And the backdrops, props, and overall quality of the pictures was equal to any other portrait studio along these lines...such as Walmart, Sears, JCP, ect. Yes, I've used what I would call a professional independent photographer on many occasions as well, for things like location shoots, my maternity pictures, and my child's newborn photos...and yes, the quality of these pictures are often better as well as having an extra something that your average chain "no sitting fee $9.95 portrait special" studio doesn't have. They also cost MUCH more. For Halloween photos, Valentine photos, or just little moments you don't want to miss, you can't beat PI. If you thought you were going to get the experience of an on location shoot where one independent photographer is taking your picture for hours because it's their passion (not to mention they own their own studio and are making the big bucks), then I'm really not trying to be rude when I say this, but that was your own ignorance.
#2-I have also noticed quite a few people saying they were "forced" into buying packages they didn't want or couldn't afford. Well, I'm not sure if they realize this, but ANY salesperson in ANY business will try to up sale you. It's their job. So unless they got in your pocket when you weren't looking or held a gun to your head, then it was your decision which pictures you left with and how much you spent. Once again, if you thought they were going to not charge a sitting fee, offer a very large package of pictures for $9.95, and not at least try to get you to buy more, then once again, that's you not using common sense. That's why they take so many pictures...in the hopes you'll want more than you originally thought. Now having said that, I myself have never felt the least bit pressured. There have been times when I can't resist and spend hundreds, and times when I leave with one pose for $9.95. And each time the employee has been very pleasant.
I'm not saying that I will NEVER EVER EVER have an unpleasant experience at Portrait Innovations...that can happen anywhere with any business. But as for now, I have always been pleased. I except it for what it is, a discount chain photography studio, and for the price, you can't beat it for the occasional photo shoot of the kiddos.
