.

The docked stars are for the service. Our salesperson, Adam, was nice. He was generally upbeat and patient. He was exceedingly apologetic for the turmoil Rooms to Go gave us. Adam is not the issue.

My issue is with the customer service, and general incompetency that seems to be rampant after you purchase an item.

We bought two chairs for our living room here. In general, the furniture is not our really our taste, but we stopped there in a "why the hell not" moment. To our surprise, there was some decent stuff here. The two chairs we bought seemed to look much more high-end than their 300 dollar price tag let on.

Once we bought the chairs, and the warranty, we were informed that our chairs would be delivered in two days. We thought this was excellent, considering that a similar looking option at another (Highland Village) store was going to take two weeks.

Monday morning rolls around. And at 6am there was a loud bang at the door. SIX AM! WTF?! Still, we opened the door confused and half asleep to find out what was going on. It was Rooms To Go. But it was also the ugliest looking chairs we had ever seen.

We informed the delivery guy that these were NOT our chairs. He looked annoyed, confused, and put them back on the truck. We called customer service to let them know of the mistake.

Customer service did not seem to understand that it was possible for the delivery person or the loading person to screw up. They barraged us with a million questions. Finally, they accepted our explanation and told us to call the store we bought it from.

We called the store. They said to call customer service.

We called customer service. They said (wait for it...) CALL THE STORE.

We called the store. They put us on hold for 20 minutes. They said they'd have to call us back.

The next day rolls around, no response. The 800 dollar charge is on our credit card. We call the store in the morning, they tells us we need to call customer service. I told them that they were the ones who charged us, and they better fix it. They tell me they'll call back. Where have I heard THAT line before?

I call back at 4pm. I ask what the hell is going on. The manager is trying not to yell at me, and explains he's "really swamped with work and is trying [his] best." I tell him that's not good enough. He says I need to come in and redo the order.

I come into the store, and Adam helps me with the transaction. I didn't have to wait at all, he promptly reenters the entire order. But the small problem is that they refunded the money to the original card, and I needed to recharge it all again. I think this is fine, give him the card, and I'm informed the chairs will be delivered in two days.

The chairs ARE delivered in two days. Again at 6am. WTF!

But, they look GREAT in the living room!

However, two weeks after the original transaction, there's no refund shown on the card. We have been charged TWICE for the chairs, warranty, tax and delivery. NOT cool.

I call the store, I'm placed on hold for half an hour. I hang up and call back. They inform me they're working on it.

Finaaaaaaaally... I get a fax confirming the refund.

I asked them why it took so long to give us the refund in the first place. Answer: "Oh, we never did it... we just did it now."

w.t.f.

Honestly, I doubt very much I will ever purchase anything from here again. The two stars are only there because I liked the chairs, and some of their furniture is nice. But really, the customer service sucks beyond belief. It's not worth it.
