I took my 13-year old cat, Sprinkles, to see Dr. Cohen two weeks ago because she had lost considerable weight and looked increasingly frail. At the vet office, Dr. Cohen spent less than three minutes examining Sprinkles, and informed me that she had lost five pounds, had swelling of the mammary glands, and needed a biopsy to see what was wrong with my cat's thyroid. NEVER, at any point, did Dr. Cohen disclose that the percentage of Sprinkles surviving was not good. INSTEAD, Dr. Cohen preyed on our vulnerability and ordered extensive needless procedures. Sprinkles could barely walk twenty feet without panting, and Dr. Cohen must have known as a medical practitioner that a more humane option was possible, especially since she was that weak. A week later, with Sprinkles not being able to walk, I call him for options, and he conveniently informs me that she has breast cancer. Sprinkles dies a week later.

Another vet examined Sprinkles when she was preparing her to be cremated. The vet at the other clinic told us that the biopsy should not be performed, and that, a simple hand-examination of the chest and later, a basic chest x-ray would have revealed the breast cancer. The other vet also told us that Sprinkles would have probably lived a month or two longer, and be in much less pain, if she had not undergone the procedure. The more humane thing to do, the other vet said, was to inform us of our options, and choose the best one for our beloved cat.

I would not want another pet owner to experience what we had to go to with our cat, and that is why I decided to write this review. For your money, see another more humane and caring veterinarian .
