.

We've been very happy with Dr. Ball. She's taken good care of our cats, including having our kitten's heart checked by a specialist. (She was born with a heart murmur.)

I've heard some criticism of the clinic that they won't take pets if you can't afford treatment, which is controversial. Therefore, if your pet requires immediate attention but you don't know if you can afford it, I would suggest calling, relating the problem and your financial capabilities, and try to negotiate a fee. The worst that can happen is that you have to call another clinic.

Also, as some free financial advice -- set aside a certain amount every month for emergencies. It should accumulate so that when you DO have an emergency (whether your car breaks down or your dog gets frostbite), you can make sure you're prepared. Being able to save for emergencies but choosing not to means that your pet's suffering is ethically as much on your head as it is on a vet who won't treat an animal without payment.

If you love your animals, then set aside funds for emergencies.

It's just common sense.

PRICES (for cats only):
Annual Exam - $32.36
Office Call - $12.77
PRC + Calicivirus Vaccinations - $5.28
Rabies Vaccination - $9.23
Complete Blood Count & Differential, Routine - $34.91
Blood Pressure - $18.21

The most expensive thing was our kitten's ultrasound, because a specialist was involved. I won't terrify you with the price.

For a typical yearly checkup, you'll have the vaccinations, exam, and office call on your bill.
