Our server was Carlos. Very attentive, polite and friendly.\r
We had the fabulous shrimp cocktail first. Have it with the great tortilla chips

Hostile Owner!!!... stay way.....\r

I have been in Guayaba Grill (US 249) several times. Music is good (excellent Latin band); however, food suck, temperature inside is very hot so after just one dance it is uncomfortable hot and humid

the music was great but the service was unacceptable. First, I order two appetizers and the waitress didn't bring me any silverware. My sister had order an appetizer and an hour later, she had to ask the waitress if she was going to bring

We were trying out a Groupon, thankfully, otherwise this would have been a really expensive and terrible experience!\r
Food portions are fairly small, and rather pricey.\r

I have to say this is the worst restaurant I have tried in Houston! My husband and I (we are both from Central America) stopped by before a trip to Costco attracted by the sign saying it had south and central american food. We were brought plantain chips to start, they were all stuck together so instead of chips we had a big blob of very oily strips all stuck. After this we decided to try the sampler, it had empanadas, carnitas, a bean salsa, plantains, and few other things that were not at all memorable. The empanadas were not at all authentic, the oil used tasted like it had been re-used several times and I even burned my lip when I bit into one because very hot oil dripped from the inside. The carnitas tasted like the were cooked on a grill covered with cigarette ashes, simply terrible! And the bean salsa had a hint of something very rancid in it. I regret the $30 spent there, we could've bought something else at Costco with it! I have never felt compelled to write a restaurant review before, but I feel I have to warn people of how terrible this was so they can spend their money elsewhere!

TERRIBLE service and the food has been increasingly smaller in portions and their sauces are watered down. Go in on a Tuesday, you'll be the only one's there. I give this place another three months before they close the doors. 0 STARS

The decor is very nice, as soon as you walk in you notice how upscale the place looks. The tables look very clean and the bar very well organized. The staff are friendly, and generally responsive.

Guayaba Latin Grill - Better food, better prices, and the addition of some South American dishes. Do yourself a favor, try Lomo Saltado, which is a Chef's Special and one of the most tender, appropriately seasoned and appointed beef I've

My family and I went to Guayaba for the first time on Mother's Day and we will NEVER go back. We made reservations for this $30/person buffet and we were very disappointed. Half of the items on their buffet came from Costco's or Sam's.

I live nearby and have been several times. Never disappointed. I am glad it continues in business because sometimes there are not too many customers. I took my mom from Canada, my boyfriend from Michigan, and my pal from Colombia ... everyone finds something they love to eat here. The servers are very professional and knowledgeable. Really nice atmosphere. LOVED the soup!!

We visited Guayabas Lating Grill on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 for a notable wine list tasting. The restaurant is located in the northwest part of Houston serving the Willowbrook and surrounding areas. The restaurant is unique in that it strives to provide Latin American Cuisine encompassing several South and Central America countries as well as Cuban cuisine specialties.
The restaurant's ambiance is perfect for the romantic special evening, the noise level is moderate and the selection of music takes you to a far away place making you feel like you are in South America, or Cuba.

On this special occasion Guayaba Latin Grill served Spanish Tapas (Appetizers) with wine from Chile, Argentina and Portugal. The tapas were original in creativity and taste, they were delicious, and substantial enough not to be overwhelming, keep in mind we were going to taste six wines with six Appetizers, so the portion was important. We left the restaurant completely filled to say the least.

The wines were all excellent but we determine the ?Finca Roja Merlot?, form Argentina took first place with us.

The service was outstanding, the waiter was well verse in the knowledge of wines, he provided the history, the make up and even the % of its content, i.e. alcohol, of the wines. Imagine having to memorize six or more types of wine literature, (painful), rather enjoy it.

My wife and I really enjoy visiting this restaurant, it?s a unique, one of the kind restaurant in all areas mention above in the city of Houston. We will continue to visit and enjoy the music, the ambiance and the tasting food this restaurant has to offer. We encourage you to visit and make your own lasting memories as you travel to South, Central America or Cuba, here in the City of Houston.

Anytime I come down I-10 from Austin, I have to make a stop here. My favorite dish is "Pollo Guayaba", stuffed chicken breast with shrimp and spinach topped with guayaba sauce. It's absolutely superb.

Not sure about your Latin favorites yet? Ask the staff, they haven't steered me wrong yet.

Also, they're always hosting some fun event. I recommend getting on their mailing list to see all the features that come up.

Everything I've tried here was great. I take business associates on a regular basis. It's quiet enough for good conversation, and everyone always enjoys the freshly made choices for lunch. Good prices too!
