I've written a review for the original of what is now a 'chain' in NY of 3 places, the one on St Marks. This is the newest location which is on the corner of 7th and Barrow street, which I discovered when going to see Our Town in the Barrow Theatre next door. Great Israeli basic fair, with Hummus to die for - warm and creamy, with variations which include fava beans, organic hard boiled eggs, and tahini on top. Weekend brunch also seems to include shakshuka (which I did not try) and Burekas. If you love Israeli food you know what these are, and if you don't try them. The wines are also from Israel, mostly from wineries in Binyamina and Baron Herzog, and are not bad. Along with a small chopped Israeli salad and the whole wheat pita bread, this is a guilt free vegetarian lunch that is full of healthy protein!

Pros: Amazing Hummus

Cons: Mostly a lunch place...

Editorial from

This West Village Hummus Place outpost is similar to the other locations in the city, but it's a bit more casual. That said, the creamy hummus, made fresh several times daily, served with fluffy pita bread, is just as good. It's available…
