About the middle of April my daughter began having problems adjusting to sitting down and eating lunch with the other children at the school. The 3 teachers (Jennifer, Bree and Alti) worked with her kindly, showing her respect and tried to assure her that it would be ok. One day a few of the staff were away and the 2 owners Amy and Jason stepped in and were kurt and harsh with my daughter, unnessarily. They as a team ganged up on her. She still talks about those few days. It's one thing to disicpline a child for acting out and another to be harsh or kurt when a child is sad or traumatized. After speaking to a few of the staff, the common conclusion was that this did not help my daughter, but only made matters worse. Jason (who has absolutely no child care experience or schooling) tried to tell me it was her entire behavior that was a problem, but all 3 teachers told me she just had a problem at lunch. Basically she wanted me at lunch time. When I spoke to Jason about it, he kept insisting that in order for him and Amy to build a trust relationship withmy daughter, they needed to be strong with her. I told him I disagreed.I was told over lunch they would watch her cry and told her to stop crying - hushing her and telling her to continue eating lunch. This was the first point that I realized these people were unprofessional, luckily they were absent for the next 3 weeks. While they were away all my daughter talked about was how Mr. Jason and Miss Amy were mean to her and scary. She said I don't like them mommy. The week they came back I walked up to Amy and told her some of the things that were said. After all of this they began ignoring my daugher and I when we came face to face. I mean you own a business and you ignore your client and their child. Again they were absent and had little contact with my daughter, so I kept her there because of the other 3 staff members. The last straw was the last day of school. They had just fired one of their employees for an invalid reason (she was amazing) 3 days before the year end party. I bought each of the 3 employees a basket of chocolate and goodies and had a card inside of each basket. The employee who was fired never received their basket. When I called Jason today he told me he kept it. I said "why would you do that, its clearly not yours." His response was "I don't have contact with her so I kept it." These 2 human beings are the most unprofessional, immature and unfit to run a business like this. I feel as though I failed my daughter because I didn't get her out sooner and for that I will always feel guilt. From the 3 staff members and the friends she formed in the group, I am grateful. She has learned to share very well and has enjoyed her time with the learning staff, minus Jason and Amy. I'm going to be filing a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau. I really would NEVER EVER recommend anyone leave their children with these 2 people and would urge them not to procreate!

My daughter has attended CAK for over 5 years. We have been nothing but pleased. The kids have their homework complete, classes in all sorts of things done, and plenty of socialization all before I get there each evening. Most importantly, she loves it there and always has. To the person whose child didn't attend field trips: it is probably due to your child's behavior or you dropping off to late. These are the only reasons I have ever known anyone to be held back from a trip. Personally, I applaud that approach. My daughter never had to suffer through long trips with other students that cause problems like she does at school. The staff are VERY good at making sure those who do what they are supposed to are not brought down by those who make things hard for the others. It does say in the contract that field trips are for full day campers.

the only time we've been here there weren't many other children for my daughter to play with maybe it was just a slow day for them.

My 2 1/2 year old daughter attends the preschool program here. I have been very happy with it. The instructors are very good with her and she loves going here.
