I don't really see the huge appeal about this place, or why seating would ever be backed up by 20 minutes or more on a Tuesday night. I came here in a party of 3 on a Tuesday evening for 7:30 reservations and we were told we'd have to wait 20 minutes. It completely negated the point of reservations; why take them if you can't honor them? On top of that, the food was not as amazing as I expected. I had oysters as an appetizer and was disappointed at how tiny some of them were. Their seafood pasta was ok, but not amazing - it just had a simple tomato sauce and spaghetti with a handful of mussels and shrimp. It tasted like something I could've made at home. Dessert was only so-so as well; I tried their s'more dish and was impressed by the marshmallow ice cream but the chocolate cake was very dry and spongy and had very little chocolate taste. Overall, the experience was disappointing and not worth the prices or the trek to Georgetown.

This place has very good seafood. The oysters are amazing. I also enjoyed a surf and turf entree. This place if fit for foodies. It's a great place for date night or a night out with friends. The price is very reasonable given that it's in G-town.

Last time I visited Georgetown I made reservations at Hook on M Street due to a friend's recommendation. Called to get a reservation and the earliest they had was 9pm on a Saturday evening, which was perfectly fine as I enjoy dining later anyways.

We arrived about 5 minutes to 9 and stood there at the front by the podium where the hostess was supposed to be, but no one was there for about 5 minutes. When the hostess came back, we told her our name and she said a table was ready and she was just waiting for a server/maitre'd to seat us upstairs which would be only a minute. We were told to stand to the side or wait at the bar. We decided to go to the bar where it was not really crowded at all and grabbed a beer each. Now I dont hold people to time too often (especially when someone says it will only be a minute) But this minute turned into 20 minutes sitting at the bar watching many other tables be seated which had arrived after us and the "seater" coming and going many times; by this time it was about 9:20pm.

Finally we were seated, not upstairs as we were promised (not a huge deal) but we were pressed into a corner pretty much like sardines (no pun), sitting next to 4 stiffs. Now that we were seated, I thought things would be better. Well this was not the case, it took another 10 minutes to be greeted by our waiter and because we did not want to wait around all evening, we had our order ready immediately. We ordered the halibut, mahi mahi and tuna tartare. The tuna was very good, the halibut and mahi were pretty much run of the mill.

We received our appetizer in about 2 minutes (not difficult to serve raw tuna), and our entrees followed about 10 minutes later. With our waiter only coming to our table two times, to take our order and to bring the check. One of the kitchen runners brought our food, and replenished our bread. Water was as if it were non-existent in this place as they did not come by to fill up the glass. Check was 90.00 for two entrees (a la carte) two bud lights and a appetizer

I make it a point to dine at restaurants who strive to be the best in their area and showcase their culinary skills. I understand the whole posh, who's-who, Georgetown scene, but this was ridiculous...There were drunk girls falling all around and bumping into people, dropping glasses and they were treated better than we were. It seemed as if their motto was "treat some people very well and some horrible and hope we pick the right wealthy ones". Well in this case, they picked the wrong one to treat poorly as I will not be returning...There are way too many other great restaurants in g-town that can have my money.

Pros: Good Location, Good Quality Food

Cons: Small Portions, Too Worried About Image, Rude Staff
