A bit too trendy and hipster, but they definitely have a good thing going. It was absolutely jam-packed with 20-30 somethings, all ordering drinks while they wait for a table. My husband and I had a glass of champagne while we waited. Once at our table, the service was very friendly, though due to sheer numbers, not especially efficient. We wanted to start with some maki, however a salmon allergy had them recommending to stay away from maki entirely as they could not ensure that the maki would be salmon free. However, they suggested the Ahi Tuna Poke appetizer, which is made separately, and it was very good. We also had the Del Mar Seafood Salad, which outside of the shrimp and crab was only ok. The filet mignon was also only ok. However, the carrot cake for dessert was absolutely fantastic. The bill for the both of us ended up being $200, which to me was a bit mich for what we got. However, I certainly won't write off Hub 51.
