If you leave your dog with Deb and Steve of the Idle Dog (small dog daycare) not only can you relax in knowing that your dog is in the best hands, but your dog will have a great time too! Here's Scooter's story:
We needed a place for Scooter, our cute, but canine unsociable cock-a-poo, to stay while in Massachusetts. We were going to be busy during the day, but wanted to pick him up at night, as we were staying in a pet friendly hotel.
I called several places and none of them could accommodate our late evening pick up, until I reached Deb Muise of the Idle Dog. Not only could she work with our hours of drop off and pick up, but when I told her about Scooter's peculiarity- unsocial with other dogs- Deb had more faith in Scooter than we did. She was sure that he would fit right in with the canine crowd; we were sure he was a lost cause.
On arrival at the Idle Dog- my husband and I felt we had given these folks an impossible task. But under Deb and Steve's supervision, Scooter fit right in! Not only that- we could tell he was having a great time milling around with his new canine friends! Deb is an licensed and experienced dog behaviorist who found her inspiration in Caesar Millan's (the dog whisperer) success. Boarding, grooming, special needs such as administration of medication are all available at the Idle Dog.
Deb and Steve care about dogs- the Idle Dog is far more than a business to them-it's really their life's work. They take the time to know a dog's individual characteristics and needs. I've seen Steve sit with a dog that needed tender care- just sit with him- and not just for a few minutes either! That's extremely rare in our age of rush and multi-tasking. I don't know where else you would find individual care like this that comes from the heart.
