This is a good club if you are interested in getting a good workout. LA Fitness is a gym. If you are looking for a "Country Club" feel with tanning beds, a hair salon and a Jamba Juice, you would be better off at Lifetime Fitness. I've read some reviews where some complain that you need to bring your own towel and your own lock... Ok, so what? Guess what, you have to lift the weights all by yourself too! My experience here has been very positive with plenty of cardiovascular equipment, (never had to wait), and the weight room was free from clutter. I have had no negative experiences with staff or management. I come in, put in my ear buds, listen to some music, have a great workout and leave. If that is what you are looking for in a club also I recommend LA Fitness.

Never been mad in my life because of this stupid staff called Anthony, he's a black guy, his name is Anthony. He would talk to me straight, i didn't get no valuable information. He was all the time joking, laughing hard. He wouldn't let me talk to him at all, he makes fun and everthing. Now what kind of attitude is that? Well, honestly, i had to bring 10 of my family members but i was too mad,i told them what i had to tell them, and now no one from my family, including me are not signing up for LA fitness. I thought it was so bad, me and my cousin just got up and left the gym. Somebody responsible for this should talk this staff. Nothing like suspend or expell him would make me happier.

To start working out, you'll need to fork over $150 for the initiation fee. The monthly fee is $39 (but you have to pay first & last). Once they have you there, you'll be invited for your free fitness assessment. It turns out that is code for we're going to sell you training sessions. Another $150 fee to start and then the price varies $25-$35 per half hour session - the trainers only get $5 of that). If you decide to join, make sure everything is put into writing because once a manager leaves (happens frequently) your membership could be turned upsidedown. All the previleges that I was told I had (bringing my family in) disappeared. After 1 year of this joint, I'm quitting. Oh, and FYI, I still have to give 30 days notice (another $39 required + $100 for training) and I've paid for last month already. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, if you ever have any problems with the management at the club and want to talk to the district manager, don't hold your breath. The GM will give you the runaround, the district manager doesn't call and the customer service department from head office (front desk won't give out the number, they'll only transfer you) doesn't do a thing.

I had a horrible experience with the manager at this particular LA Fitness. After receiving a month long guest pass in which the sales rep specifically said that I could use at their club, I went to this location a few times. The equipment is average, the basketball facility is terrible. You have to bring your own lock (annoying). But the management was the worst. I went to this club for about the 4th time and the manager stopped me and said that I was mistakenly given a pass for too long of a time and that I could no longer enter the gym. As a prospective client and potential customer I was pretty surprised that he would kick me out of his gym after his other employees had given me no issue. This was perplexing to say the least. Any manager with a lack of general business sense and customer service to this degree should not be in a management position. Any company that puts someone like that in this position should be ashamed of themselves. The cross-location communication was proven to me to be awful and I would never attend another LA Fitness for the rest of my life. If I could give a zero star rating, I would. They should be embarrassed of themselves as an organization to treat potential customers this way and to hire a person in a management position that simply does not get it.

Somehow I was not impressed to visit la fitness but there were so many people going in as I sat outside and watched. So I gave the outside another going over and since I wasn't in a hurry I went in and I am glad that I did. It's not the YMCA if you are one of those people but there is plenty there to help you get in shape or stay in shape. It was well lit and clean so I would recommend it. This was the Brooklyn Park branch.
