The only good thing about Lovett Dental is the Dental Hygienist - she is awesome. Having said that, everything else at this place is professionally lacking.
I started the process of getting a dental implant back in February, 2010. Now (mid August), they have cancelled my appointments twice, and I still have no implant. The "Office Director" has to be the most inept person I have ever encountered in any professional setting. She smells of cigarette smoke, and she types on keyboard so fast, that she has to backspace on every other word, to make corrections to her all-too-numerous errors.
I am a busy man, and have made special arrangements to take time off from work to have them finish what they started. Now, I am working a new project and can only see them on Saturdays. Well, THAT just doesn't fit THEIR schedule. I will give them a little more time to get this job finished. If I don't hear from them soon, I guess it will be time to call my attorney. Lost time, aggravation, emotional distress . . . . .
If you're looking for a dentist, steer clear of this place, for sure!

Office is accommodating to those with sporadic work schedules. The dental hygienist is awesome. She is always courteous and enthusiastic about her work. I've been going to Lovett on Kirby for 2 years now and she is the one constant that hasn't changed during that period. Very friendly staff that will have you in and out with minimal wait time.

Average is what i call this dental office. The office manager wants me to write a review so I thought why she wants me to write a review so bad. I figure it out when I read the previous reviews. Patients should want to write a review and not be told. I guess she wanted me to write a good one about her because all these reviews were about how horrible she is. Well, she asked the wrong person. I agree with the previous reviews. I write to give an honest opinion. Lets start at the begining, Kristina was nice; I agree with the previous people about wait time, but once you get to see the dr. it was pleasant. I waited about fifteen minutes in the back. The dentist saw me and told me I had a large filling that may need a crown. He wants to watch it. but only took like three minutes to check my teeth, but I don't know if that was enough time to put on his gloves. When he told me the dental assistnat will schedule my cleaning appointment I was mad because I could thought I was getting a cleaning that day. Who has time to go to the dentist twice, but the dental assistant saw how upset i was said she would ask the hygienist if she could see me. The hygienist came in and check my teeth to make sure it was a regular cleaning and she explained to me why the cleaning was not done on the first appointment. I kindof understand but It is a total inconvience to people who have a JOB! However, she worked me in. She was fast, but I felt rushed. I guess that is what I get for asking her to work me in. So, maybe she can spend a little more time with her patient and get to know them. I am not complaining, but I didn't even catch her name. Then she walked me up to get the price of my crown and schedule my next appointment. So, guess what i did in the waiting room. I waited 45 minutes for the office manager to call me back to her office. I seriously agree with people saying she smokes beccause she smells like an ashtray. She told me how much my work would cost me but I told her the dentist told me he is watching the tooth. She argued and said she sees a cavity on my xray. remind you that the dr said i had no caivities and he said i have big filling that will need a crown in future. so, from the dental cleaning to her office i miraclously developed a cavity. I asked her to ask the dr. and she told me that the dr is with another patient I would have to wait. So, yes she does not know what she is talking about. She argued with me. You don't argue with a paying customer. She tried to smooth things over by saying well atleast you got your cleaning and we try so very hard to accomodate you. Sherrie you did not accomodate me, your staff did. So, sherrie here is the review you aske me to write. I hope you got the review you wanted. If you want a good review dont ask your patients to write a review about how good of a job you are doing. Just do your job!

after reading and hearing about the review. i wanted to post my opinin on the dental office. Parkin. You need Parkin for da patients. I took my daughter to Lovett Dental to get her wisdome teeth pulled. After beeing hounded by the manager for her wisdom teeth for three weeks. She calls like every week to make sure I will be coming. I already told her I will take my daughter after they have rescheduled my appointment TWO times. Why inconvient me because you cant get your schedule right. When i arrived with my daughter an hour early to wait for another hour to be seen, I noticed the waiting room full and noone helping the customers accept for the poor girl in the front desk named Kristina. Nice but could try to move a little faster. She seem overwhelmed. My daughter waited an hour for Sherie to go over what they will be doin to my daughter . Why did she not go over this when she called me houndin to make sure I was going to be there. She told me that I should not worry because my insurance would take care of it. when I asked her why we are doing these extraction she told me not to worry. Insurance will take care of it. I guess since I had MEDICAID, she didnt have to explain what my daughter was goin to get. I dont care if insurance is coverin it. I asked about the anesesia and she gave me a look. she said she does not have TIME for question, but like the reviews said before me. She smokes like a chimney. no wonder we waited an hour. Just because I am on medicaid does not mean i stupid and poor. these tough times and i DONOT want anyone to make me feel worthless the way I was treated by this Manager that proably does not even have a high school diploma. She needs treat people with respect and with manners. So, if you have medicaid. you may want to get a second opinion. It seems like everyone that day had medicaid and they did not understand what was going on. atleast when we spoke to each other in the waiting room. So, i wonder now if my daughter needs extractions, but the dr who did my daughter work and nurse emily explained to me why my daughter need the extractions. So atleast they seem like they new what they were doing. So, i recommend dr who pulled her wisdom teeth, but I dont recommend the constant hounding of me making my appointment, rudeness, unorganizness and then no explanantion. she gave me a bag of cotton and told me if my daughter has pain after the teeth pulled i need to go to da dr that sent me here. to the dr that owns this office. you need to work on getting rid of the trailar park trash that works here. you are too good of a doctor to be havin people run your office. so please take out the trash. maybe the nurse should be your manager since she know what she was talking about and she just looks classier.

I teach at the local University, and have been going to Lovett dental for the past two years and boy has things change. Staff is constantly changing and even the dentist has been new since the last time I have been there. The only one that has not change is the friendly hygienist. I have been going to lovett not because I choose to but because it is the closest office that accepts my insurance. This last visit I saw Dr. Frank he was very professional after I waited twenty minutes to be called. I mean what were they doing. The front had an office full of patients and there was only one girl in the front answering the phone and assisting us. I have to admit that I was shocked at his nice explanation on why I needed a root canal. The dental assistant (black girl) was very kind and gentle. For the first time taking xrays did not hurt. She was really friendly and funny. She made my dental visit pleasant. After waiting for 30 minutes for my estimate on my root canal, I had to ask what was taking so long and then the front desk girl said the manager stepped out. Well, me and two other people notice that the lady smoking outside was the manager that we have been waiting on. When I asked her about my root canal she was like the dr did not explain to you and got frustrated. I told her I understood what the root canal was but I did not understand the difference between the multiple fees that were on my treatment plan. She looked confused and frustrated. She was rude and not helpful at all. So, dental care is fair but customer service needs to be focus on. I don't know about other patients, but I don't have time to wait around. When my appointment is at 2, and not brought back until 230, and i have to wait another 30 minute to get my estimate. that is very frustrating. so lovett needs to work on customer service and being friendlier to their patients. Overall they are ok. But just average. So that is why i give them three stars.

I have been meaning to post a review for a while now but I really haven't had the time. Yes they have had a lot of bad reviews. First, let me say that I have a DHMO and I have only a hand full of dental offices that I can go to. I have been going to the Lovett on Kirby for about three years and let me say how things have changed. Second, if you can surpass the front office and ignore the idiot blonde in the front office, you will have a pleasant dental visit (think of it as crossing over a bridge and you have to deal with an ugly troll). she is the one that is always smoking in the front of a dental office. How trashy! Note to office manager or owner of lovett, dont have your staff smoke infront of a dental office. You are suppose to promote healthy living. Why people do that I don't know. Yes, it has changed for the better well at least the staff in the back office that is. Dr. Frank is a pretty season dentist. He is straight and too the point. He is not as gentle as the previous dentist but I guess everyone has a different technique to dentistry. However, he gets props for his bedside manner. He seems genuine, confidant and knows what he is doing. Let me get to the best part of my dental visit, Susan the hygienist. She has been cleaning my teeth for almost two years. Susan is someone you rarely see that is so passionate in her job. She loves what she does! Susan adds that personal touch by remembering stuff that we spoke about last time. I thought she wrote it down, but she doesn't. She just has an awesome memory. So, Susan if YOU ever leave, Please let your patients know because I know they will follow. She always try to make sure i leave with my tooth supplies.

I have been bouncing around from dental office to dental office due to my insurance. My dental experience here has been great. They provide professional service and dental care. The front desk person was helpful in verifying my insurance. The dental assistant was very gentle when taking my xrays although I had to retake them because it did not come out. Dr. Frank was great and explain the health of my teeth. He was professional and I wish I could have asked him more questions but saw that the assistants was calling him for another room. He seems very busy, but for new patients he should have made the time and effort for us because we want to feel that we are in good hands. The dental assistant walked me up and I had to wait on my treatment plan (20 minutes). However, they were able to fit me in for a cleaning that day because I was a new patient I was not guarantee my cleaning. The hygienist (Susie?) was sweet and very personable. She was fast and gentle. Susie also explained to me other options that I did not get to discuss with Dr. Frank. Susie told me that they have a childrens dentist and that they do braces here all in this one location. I am definitely bringing my family here to get great dental services and convience. thanks to sherie and her staff at lovett

Today my daughter and i went to the Lovett Dental on Kirby Dr. ... a worker there named Shirly was very helpful and she really helped us make decisions as a friend instead of as a staff member. She was very polite and i know we will be repeating service with this company in the near future. Without Shirley and some of the other members of the staff, which names fail me at this time, Lovett Dental on Kirby Dr. would be nothing special.

I was chosen by my insurance for this dental office and was skeptical of going because i have never been to a clinical type dentist, i recently moved here and my previous dentist was very small and literally practiced out of something that looked like a little house. When i walked in the receptionist was very kind and assisted me in completing and gathering all of the information i needed as a new patient. my xrays were taken and the dr was very thorough while checking for cavities. all i needed was a cleaning so the office manager told me that the hygienist was booked until august, i was very upset so she asked the hygienist if she could fit me in. The hygienist was awesome and worked thru her lunch to clean my teeth. I will continue to go there and refer my family and friends. It was a great experience from the time i walked thru the door until i left.

N. Eldridge and 1960 location: I called to set up a new patient appointment and was treated cordially by the facility manager, Mike; however, when I called back to cancel my appointment (after having read HORRIBLE reviews on CitySearch), I was treated with less than cordial service... The girl who took my call, Antoinette (or whatever she called herself- unintelligible speech), not only was abrupt and rude, but hung up on me when I stated I did not want to reschedule my appointment. Upon calling her back to find out why she hung up on me, I was, again, treated with disdain when she said, "I thought we was through talkin'... You wasn't done?" Needless to say, I called to speak with Mike and was placed on hold each and every time I called back (5 times); until, on the sixth attempt, I was able to catch him. I explained what happened and he stated that his folks were "still in training." It appears that Lovett Dental needs to either re-train their staff or hire more professional and courteous folks to run their offices. If I could give them zero stars, I would! WARNING: DO NOT GO TO LOVETT DENTAL... EVER!!!

I chose this as my PCD before I read any reviews, but afterwards I read some and found that they were negative overall. It scared me, but I went ahead and made an appointment.

My first time visiting, the receptionists and office manager were all very friendly and helpful. The next time I went to the office, it was for a cleaning, and I found the hygienist warm as well as quick. My last appointment was for oral surgery (wisdom tooth extraction). It went incredibly smoothly. A medical emergency occurred in the waiting room while I was preparing for surgery, but the employees kept me calm and informed. The procedure was carried out very professionally (great surgeon!) and 10 days after surgery I'm already feeling completely back to normal.

Although you may have to wait or have trouble parking, this office makes up for that with its convenience of location, its kind staff, and its quality service.

I have gone to this dentist for a while because it is convenient to my work, but the office staff is rude. The receptionist hung up on me while I was trying to schedule a very expensive root canal. Even with an appointment, I have waited an hour before I saw a dentist. They state that they have Saturday appointments, but they have 1 appointment a month and require a 4 month wait to see an oral surgeon. If you have a PPO and have to choose a primary provider, I would only go to them as a last resort, and only then for a cleaning. I am very unhappy with them,

Today I went to the lovett on kirby and I waited a long time to be seen but i waited patiently. I went here because it was convient for my job because I was off on thursday. I then was told by the doctor that I need a deep cleaning and other dental work. I thought sure ok, because I had not seen the dentist in a year. They told me I could have my work done but I would have to wait, so i waited. I was told that the dentist was going to start my work today from my cleaning and fillings. I asked the guy in the fron if i was going to have to wait long. Here, I paid all this money for my dental work and guess what I did not see the dentist. I was taken back by the assistant and I believed she was the one cleaning my teeth. I was told by the gentleman that they hygienst was not in today, but I would have my teeth clean by the dentist. However, I got my cleaning done but I strongly believe that the dentist did not clean my teeth. I did not even get my tooth filled. They took my money and did not give me my refund. I paid for a deep cleaning, and had my teeth cleaned by an assitant veronica. I believe that this is very wrong of Lovett dental, and I am reporting Dr. Chinchilla to the state board.

Pros: Nothing

I was a new patient scheduled at the kirby location and i was nervous because of all the bad reviews that were posted. I had to go to this office because this is the only place that took my insurance. Suprisingly, I went and the staff was very professional. I did not have to wait four hours. I only waited ten minutes to be seen. I was introduce to the Susan the hygienist and she did my gum exam. She explained to me what was going on in my mouth and she was very informative. I found that when she was talking to me she spoke to me in a way that I could understand about my treatment. However, I found that the dentist was nice but really did not explain what he wanted to do with my mouth. I think he made me wait a while before I was examined but he did not evenreally take the time to speak to me. I understand he is the doctor but he should still get to know his patients. After he did my exam, his assistant explained to me what he recommended. So, I guess the dr entrust his hygienist and assistant to do all the work for him. Overall, the staff was very helpful. I just wish the Dr. spoke to me more.

I have been to the Lovett Dental office on Kirby several times. The first dentist I saw is no longer with the company... She was okay. The past couple of times I have gone back, I was treated very well by both the front office staff and the dentist. The front office staff has always gone out of their way to set up appointments that are convenient for me. The wait time when I go is minimal... I cannot remember going to ANY kind of Dr.'s office and having such a short wait! I was glad that Dr. Chinchilla explains the procedures and options available so thoroughly. I think everyone has a right to know EVERYTHING that will be happening in their mouth. He explained two different options for my treatment, the pros and cons of each, and then informed me what he would do if it was his own mouth he was treating. I have had a lot of work done in the past and some dentists just start working or using jargon and then send the bill... not the case here. I feel very good about the quality of work done and highly recommend these guys to everyone! I think that people are too quick to point out negatives in today's society. I am glad that I could take a moment and let you know what a great experience I had.

Today, I really don't know what to say. I went to get my appt. and the manager at the desk was so rude. I signed in and want to make sure what i was gettin done. She just gave me forms to sign and sat me down. Why can't she explain what I was gettin done today? If she didn't know, why she workin in office. It was not like she was busy. There were another patient in the waitin room that was waitin to be seen. the manager was not busy, she made me sign the bill, but did not answer my qustions or the stupid phone that kept ringin. Instead she was textin on her cell. They have signs posted for patients to turn off the cell but what about her. her Phone ring she answer but she no answer the work phone or my questions about my work to be done. when she finally got to me regarding my appt.; she started to raise her voice at me to me that was uncalled for. I thought customers were always right?! . I don't unerstand because I cant take off somany times to go to dentist. all i wanted was my cleaning done on the same day as my teeth done but she said it was not posible. i remember requesting that because when i got the right side done the hygenst told me that since I was going to be numb on that leftside with the cleaning, I should go ahead and get my teeth fixed by the dentist. but the front said that was not possible.the dr is nice and good.. i like his people he has workin for him. The assist. was very friendly and gentle that helped even though i think he lost his cool with her. I was really upset that i could not see my hygenst today. The hygenst was the one that convience me to get my teeth fixed. I did not have a good feelin when I showed up as a new pt. but when i got my cleaning hygenst explain my dental work dr. recommended. I decided to get as much done the next time so i did not have to take more time off of wk. makes since right? So, why did i get shafted when the manager didn't have my appointment correctly.

Well, I have been a patient at Lovett Dental for awhile because my insurance dictate where I go. I was not happy with the Dr. Bousigues, but I heard they got a new dentist so I decided to give it one more try. This time I did not have to wait an hour before being seeing for regular check up. I only had to wait for about fifteen minutes. I met Dr. Chinchilla, and he explained to me the necessary treatment that I needed and the importance of my dental work. I felt he spent time with me and answered my questions. After I spoke to the dr. I had to wait for my treatment plan; now that was a different story. When the dental assistant handed the chart to the so called manager erin (?); she stated that she has two other charts to do before mine. However, passing by her office to go to the bathroom she was surfing the internet. Hmmm...I can see why she was backed up. NOT DOING HER JOB! After she went over my treatment plan, the hygienist took me back and gave me a cleaning. The hygienist explained everything she was doing, and when I had questions she answered them. For example, I heard her calling out numbers and she told me she was measuring my gums. Never had that happen before. For the first time, I feel that Lovett dental has a Great Dentist and Hygienist. BUt for the office manager, she needs to go back and learn how to be professional. For the location that this office is in, you would think they would find someone that is more professional to run the office.

We had a very good experience with the new Doctor at Lovett Dental. Dr. Bousique who cared for us before is NO longer employed at Lovett. She had an attitude. Doctor C is very professional, very pleasant and took excellent care of my family with geniune dedication, therefore I would highly recommend this office for dental services. Also, the office had a few patients and we waited only 10 minutes before we were seen. Prices are reasonable I Highly recommend this office and new Doctor.

I used it because it right by my house, in West U; but what a big mistake... They were able to find a way to charge, and charge, and charge... I decided to go to another dentist and, guess what, I didn't need to pay for the same procedures... THe will see your mouth a some kind of gold mine.... they will do anything they can to get money out of it... The reason why health care in the US is a mess, because you have people like this, thinking about how to get the most money out of patients. Anyhow, don't use them!!!!

I understand waiting to see a dentist or doctor, but 30+ minutes when the office is otherwise empty? No worries on that part, the real problems came in after they completed 2 fillings in my teeth. She did such a horrid job that I had to come back to get them to try and "smooth" them down so I could floss. No joke, I couldn't get floss between my teeth due to the poor filling. On the return visit (the first should have taught me something), I spent about an hour in the chair while the dentist and an assistant tried to slip dental sandpaper between the afflicted teeth to file down the now rock hard over-filling. They broke several pieces before declaring defeat.
Now the billing - I paid the upfront difference between what my PPO would cover and what they charge. This amount wasn't cheap; but I thought it would be market competitive and it is for my teeth afterall. Now fast forward a month, they send me a bill. Now fast forward two more months (hoping they would straighten this out) - they claim I didn't pay ENOUGH. Sorry peeps, your computer said I owe this amount, I paid it. Bill the insurance for the remainder, and eat any difference. ESPECIALLY after two visits to am incompetent dentist.
I would highly advise going elsewhere.

Pros: location

Maybe I have just had a bad, unrepresentative experience... but I finally got a dentist, chose Lovett based on its convenient location, and have been Majorly let down.
The fact that my first visit did not include a cleaning was not even clear to me until the end of my first visit. Each time I have been, I have arrived on time or early, only to spend at least 30-40 minutes waiting. I don't know a lot of people who want to spend half the day at the dentist! Both times I had this wait, no one was even communicating with me in regards to how much longer it would be, what the hold-up was, etc.
Then, when I finally got my teeth cleaned, my hygenist clearly missed 3 of my teeth, which I definitely notice as a coffee drinker.
Bottom line: ineffective staff, long waits.

I recently had a wonderful experience at the Dentist! I am always so afraid of Dentists, but this entire staff gave me so much comfort and attention and the doctor was very patient and caring with me that I need to write about it.The doctor and assistants took so much time with me and were a great professional team. The atmosphere was great and my roots and crowns are back to new! My family also received some treatments and everyone is very satisfied. I feel relieved to have found such excellent mouth care. I highly recommend Lovett Dental to everyone !

Unlike the two witches below I had an awsome experience at Kirby Lovett. The Dentist was da bomb. I was on vacation in H-town when I had a problem with my grill. My bling came out and I needed a quick fix. The dentist was able to fix me up and I was outta there in no time flat. I know that the time in needs to have any work done while I am in H-town, I will head on down to Kirby Lovett.

Most people will be quick to complain about things. I wanted yo let you know that if you have a little patience, much can be accomplished. I came to the clinic in need of a lot of dental treatment and have been able to get started with some dental treatment. Now I am pain-free and am very grateful. Gratitude is not practiced enough. Thank you Lovett.

Worst dental experience I have EVER had! Dentist was openly rude, hateful even! I waited an hour and a half, 40 minutes of it sitting in a dental chair with no service, no communication, nothing. When I inquired of the office staff how much longer my wait would be, the dentist responded to the inquiry in the rudest and most unprofessional tone "I'll be with her when I get to her!" I overheard the dentist communicate this, and I walked out indicating that I would not allow such a rude and unprofessional person to work on me. The dentist actually followed me into the waiting room to argue with me!! The dentist was an unprofessional nightmare. The rest of the staff, as far as I could tell, was either unfriendly or entirely indifferent. Words cannot begin to express the level of disappointment I have with Lovett Dental and its Kirby Street dentist. Again, I have never had a worse experience with any medical professional in my entire life! Shame on the dentist and shame on Lovett Dental for employing such a rude and unprofessional staff!

My mom and I where waiting in the office for 40 minutes, and when my mom finally sat down in the chair we had to wait another 45 minutes. By then we were bored and tired. We told the office and they talked to the doctor. After hearing the dentist?s rude response, my mom did not want her teeth done by a lady so rude. When we were leaving, for no reason, the lady (the dentist) came out and yelled at us. One of the employees came out to comfort and calm down the dentist. Isn?t that horrible?!

These are the worst dentist I've ever gone to. I went to two Lovett Dental locations and got horrible service from both. The first dentist I saw did a horrible job on my root canals and crowns. He didn't deaden the nerve all of the way, therefore I'm still experiencing pain. The other dentist was supposed to fix it, but made an even bigger mess. The staff was also very rude. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

I have used Lovett on two occasions. The first time, a cleaning, seemed to be ok with the exception of the staff being less than friendly. Actually, it bordered on snobby.

The second time, the crown cracked when they were setting it, TWICE! The billing made numerous errors and when those were pointed out, they never said, I am sorry or admitted any responsibility. In fact, the woman seemed a little irritated that I had noticed. That got me wondering...

I just called to make another appointment. The receptionist told me: "The computers are down. You will have to call back." I called back two hours later and spoke to a different person who said they were back up. Then I was put on hold for 5 minutes. The first person picked up the call like it was a new call. I explained why I was calling and was told the computers were down again and that they couldn?t help me at this time.

No offer to call me when they come up. No apology for the inconvenience, no anything.

It was at this point I said that it might be best that I find a new dentist. She responded with a hesitant "alright."

I cannot in good conscious recommend Lovett Dental on Kirby. The service is sub-standard, the staff is apathetic and snobby and there are quality issues with their suppliers.

Do yourself a favor, if you are considering Lovett Dental, PASS! There are too many other Dentists out there that will do the job in a more personal and professional manner. You deserve better than what they offer.

I cannot begin to describe how HORRIBLE this dental practice is. I recently went in for the first time and found out that I had cavities on both sides of my mouth. I thus made two subsequent appointments to get fillings put in on either side of my mouth. However, although both appointments were scheduled for 2 pm (supposedly the first appt. after the dentist gets back from lunch), I HAD TO WAIT 1.5 HOURS before before being seen by the dentist on each occasion. After only two weeks, one filling fell out as I was flossing my teeth, and I had to wait over one hour when I went to get that filling repaired. Then, 2 weeks later, the same FILLING (in addition to one other filling) FELL OUT AGAIN. Unfortunately, after waiting 1.5 hours at my 4th appointment, I had to leave because I had to be somewhere in an hour.

In addition to doing shoddy filling work and making patients wait extraordinarily long times, the Lovett billing department is completely incompetent. I accidentally handed them my medical insurance card during my first visit. When they alerted me to mistake five minutes later, I apologized and gave them my correct dental insurance information. However, they somehow cannot figure out how to update their records, and they thus continue to send me the same bill every month, claiming that my insurance (i.e. my medical insurance) won't cover my filling costs.
-------------
Addendum: Due to the poor service I received from Dr. Samantha Bousigues and her staff, I filed a complaint against her with the Texas Board of Dental Certification in January of 2008. At the end of July, the Board came to a decision in my favor stating that, "After a review of the documentation, the panel members determined that disciplinary action against Dr. Bousigues was warranted. A proposed Agreed Settlement Order was drafted...reflecting the panel members' recommendation to the full Board for disciplinary action."
