Prices were low. I took a lot of time shopping for the best deal for a particular refrigerator online and this company was definately the lowest. What really made the experience positive was the service I received after the purchase was made. As a cherry on top, my refrigerator arrived with a small dent on the side. I expected this to be a hassle, but, when I called in the lady I spoke to actually gave me an option to exchange the refrigerator or provide 10% back without me even asking for it. The dent is small and I won't even see it because the side is covered by a cabinet. My already lowest price became another $200 lower.

If you are ordering large appliances, DWC in Chatsworth is great on service because of Manuel.

If you are ordering, 36 drawer pulls, forget it. Your order is not delivered on time. It takes 6 weeks. Then it is delivered in two split orders. 16 end up in Moorpark, then in Santa Barbara. You call and call and promises are made by 4 different staff people to track it down but no one calls you back. Each time you call, either they put or on hold or tell you that that the last person you spoke to is off for the day.

We remodeled back in 2000. We shopped many discount places for appliances as well as for our bathrooms. We shopped at the Baker Wells Store in Beverly Hills. The store is no longer there and Warehouse Discount Center has taken over. I am sending my rating based on my experience in Beverly Hills. We bought Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer, a Side by Side Sub Zero refrigerator, a double gas oven Maytag, a Wolff Cooktop from them. We did not replace our dishwasher because it was fairly new. With the exception of the Wolff Cooktop and the clothes dryer, everyone of the appliances have required major servicing at our expense. The washer needed about 4 boards replaced before they stopped breaking, the gas oven on the top has always been a problem and we should have asked for a replacement. the refrigerator needs an expensive part that we were told to wait until it actually breaks (it just makes a lot of noise now) to repair it and on and on. We purchased our Maytag Dishwasher from a local Maytag store and have had one repair on it, it is over 12 years old. We bought top end appliances and feel that they should have lasted more than a couple of years. We are going to replace rather than repair with the exception of the Sub Zero as we have had so many repairs why should we put more money into something that probably will break again? I have been to the new store in Chatsworth. The sales people there are cold and abrupt. I go there to buy my water filter replacement every year. I will not be going there to buy more appliances. BW had an excellent reputation when we started shopping in the late 90's now I would go elsewhere. I am sure I will find competitive prices and certainly better service, hopefully not seconds.

I purchased a viking Barbecue from Baker & Wells. This barbecue was at the front door as I walked in. It had a price tag on the lid of the Barbecue. I asked the sales lady to answer some questions about this item. I asked it this price included everything I see here except for the propane tank, and she replied yes. I asked if this price was for the floor model, and she replied no. She said she could not sell me the floor model and that she would order me one. It would take a week to ten days. I informed her that I was not in a hurry but I was planning a New Years BBQ. I left a deposit for the BBQ and she hand wrote me a receipt because there computers were down. I called a few time to check on the status of my order. Finally on New Year eve I called and it had come in. So I rushed down because they were closing soon. When I got there I was told I purchased a cart. I explained to the salesman helping me that I purchased a completer BBQ. He called the sales lady over and she confirmed selling me a complete BBQ. She also confirmed a managers special price tag on the BBQ and not the cart. She also confirmed that I asked if this price included the complete BBQ except for the propane tank and her reply was yes.The manager would not honor my purchase and did nothing to help me out. I was told a mistake had been made and that there was nothing they could do. This company left me high and dry for my New Years BBQ, not a very honorable establishment in my opinion.

We were about to remodel our kitchen and as a result needed to purchase all new high end (Viking, Sub-Zero, Asko) appliances. Our kitchen designer had warned us off of Baker and Wells but when shopping we were able to save quite a bit purchasing from Baker and Wells. We went ahead and ordered over $10,000 in appliances. A deposit was required and the balance due before delivery. As the remodel on our kitchen progressed we realized the a standard door panel would not fit on the Asko dishwasher we ordered. We called Baker & Wells and asked if we may switch to the same model Asko dishwasher but upgrade to a Stainless Steel door. Every person we attempted to speak with rude to us, they flat out refused saying they would not modify our order, we had signed a contract and we were bound to it. We had not yet taken delivery of any of our appliances. My husband was astonished and said then we will have to purchase our dishwasher elsewhere. They told us to go ahead, they have our deposit which they would not give back and the contract binds us to paying for the black panel dishwasher (the panel which were wanted to remove and replace with cabinet panels). Our salesman, who was very kind before we put a deposit down, hung up on my husband in regards to this. They would not take any more of our calls, and we hadn't even take delivery of our appliances yet. We resolved ourselves to taking the dishwasher we had ordered and eventually took delivery of all our appliances. Our 36" Viking stove delivery was arranged by Baker and Wells. Upon unpacking and hooking up the stove the delivery guy turned up the griddle and told us "You've got to burn this grease off", it is a protective grease applied at the factory. It immediately burned in and turned the griddle black, and never has come completely off. Baker and Wells never once helped us out, they will give you a great price but their customer service is beyond appalling. Run from them, spend your money somewhere else!
