This was the most harrowing moving experience I have ever had, and I am not new to moving across the country. Before signing the contract to have AMPM Moving and Storage handle my long distance move from Dallas to Seattle, I expressed concern multiple times about my items being delivered by the time I arrived in Seattle. I had a good faith verbal assurance *and* emails that my belongings would be in my new hometown the day that I arrived. I was assured that there would be a rush put on the truck and that my items would more than likely be the only thing running at that time. It took them a total of nearly 20 days to deliver my belongings - just under the written contract's 21 day limit.

There was ZERO communication unless I called the company, the owner, or the driver directly on my own accord. Each time I called in, I was either met with employees telling me that the truck would be here within the next day or two, or with no answer at all. On one such call, the owner said that the truck was in my state only to find out minutes later from the driver that he was in Los Angeles - 1100 miles away. I was told that the truck would be here ''the next day'' countless times when that was obviously not the case as delivery finally occurred at 11:20pm on the 19th day.

In fact, the driver told me that day (I had to call him) that he would be here no later than 6pm and that he would call me when he left his current destination. When I did not hear from him hours after the time promised had lapsed, I called again and he said he'd be here no later than 8:30pm. After no communication, I called the driver again at 10:30pm. He finally showed up at 11:20pm and wasn't finished unpacking until 1:20am. Each time I was the one having to make contact even though I was told numerous times that the driver would contact me 24 hours prior to delivery. I even spent an hour that afternoon waiting for cars to leave their parking spots in front of my building in order to cone off a big enough area as a courtesy for the 6pm delivery that I was told would occur.

Because of this extreme delay, I had to purchase several duplicate household items in order to live and sleep without my belongings. I was unemployed at that time and also had to reschedule or cancel several interviews not only because I did not have my clothing or other materials needed, but because I was being told that the delivery would be made each day and I needed to be present

I have since filed a complaint with the BBB and their response was that there were mechanical issues with the truck. I had been spun everything from marital problems (not kidding), to another company screwing up the destination of another delivery by telling them to go to the wrong state, but never heard of any mechanical issues. To me, a break down or two as they later claimed would be far more justifiable than the driver's issues with his wife. Why didn't they give me this as a reason during the nearly 20 day delay?

The reason I selected them for my move was because of their positive reviews and their high BBB rating. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. They will bait and hook you, then once your belongings are with them they will never communicate unless you call them. Sometimes they answer the phone, sometimes they don??t. They will, however, consistently lie to you and take you (and your belongings) for a ride.
