Fromt the moment I began my search, and search I did for quite sometime, i knew I wanted somplace that was friendly, accomodating, non-intimidating, and ultra professional. Rising Dragon is it. For a first timer, you might get a little queasy in the stomach, but they will do everything to make you feel right at home.\r
\r
From initial appointment, to consultation, to implementation, they are a class act and have no issue answering questions. I chose Wendi, who is truly awesome, and made the experience fun and as pain free as possible, (the last half hour was a teeth clencher but I came through!). The first hour or so flew by though, we even took a quick break and shared a stogie, and then for the last hafl hour she bared down and got me through the last part of the session. \r
\r
In the end, the price was just right, and very fair, and I walked away very very happy. Everyone who has seen it is pleased, and it amazed that there is practically no swelling, and no scabbing. You get what you pay for!!\r
\r
next time i will be heading back her way when it comes time for another one. Some of their artists have longer waiting times then others, so find who you want, and book in advanced if you know they are in demand, they will be worth the wait. Trust me!!\r
\r
Thanks again to Wendi and the staff at Rising Dragon. Once it is all healed up the photo will be up on their facebook website. \r

My brother in law got a celtic ornament tattoed on his shoulder and partially back there. That's a damn nice job done! Very detailed and impressive! Now I feel like getting a tattoo myself honestly.

I did a lot of research before getting my first (and currently only) tattoo. That's how I landed on Darren at Rising Dragon.

The space is really comfortable, the tattoo artists all seem really cool and easygoing.

I chose Darren for his experience with and love for dragons. He's an amazing artist and as soon as I told him what I wanted and where I wanted it, he just started drawing on my foot with markers until he was happy with what he came up with (I was also happy with what he came up with). Getting tattooed was way easier than I thought it would be. It was a great experience all around and I definitely plan on going back to Darren for my next tattoo!

This tattoo parlor is great, the people there are friendly and know what they are doing. I got my first tattoo here (by the owner). It was a great experience and tattoo came out great. I knew what I wanted already but couldn't find the right image. He did that for me and suggested I added a few more things to it. I ended up with the Perfect Tattoo, people give me compliments and ask where I got it. I went back and got my second tattoo there also. I highly recommend it!

Great Parlor, from the time you walk thru the door, and talk to either the receptionist or any artist you realize, .... ""This IS the place that I want to get my tattoo done"". This is not your everyday average shop.\r
\r
The entire staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, regardless if this is your 1st tattoo or another to add to your list/ body, you are treated the same.\r
\r
I got my tattoo done by Darren, the shop owner; I walked in with an idea and he made it "" come to life"". \r
\r
I have refered a few friends to the shop, and they are ALL completely satisfied. From now on, I am not going to waste my time looking at any other shops, this is were I will get all MY INK done from.\r

Pros: Artists, Environment, Work

Cons: hmmm...Can't think of one

.

This shop is true to tattooing. They are highly skilled in tribal, chinese, futuristic, traditional, portraits, you name it. I got a bunch of polynesian tribal work done by Joao and it's amazing. I keep going back for me.

Highly recommend this shop for anyone looking to get some kick ass ink

Pros: Best Artists

.

This is the only tattoo shop that I would ever consider getting a tattoo at because its very professionally run, clean, and the tattoo artists are all friendly and make you feel like part of the family. The vibe in this shop is the best!

My husband uses Darren as his artist. Darren has done both of my husband's full arm sleeves. Darren is the master of creating amazing tattoos. He is gifted with that tattoo gun, making precise lines and he finishes it off with color, blending together the most wicked shades, this guy really knows how to make color pop! The colors are so vivid, that the tattoo takes on a life of its own. His artistry really shines when it comes to his Japanese themed work, including dragons, masks, warriors, goddesses, and koi fish. All of his Japanese themed tattoo work flows into these amazing sleeves that tell a story. My husband is now working with Darren on making full sleevies for his legs Last year Darren and my husband won best tattoo at the NYC convention and they are hoping to win again this year.

Whenever we travel, whether it be to Italy, the Carribean, or just within the USA, my husband always receives compliments on his sleeves. Everyone is impressed at the level of the design work from the cohesive story that is seen on his sleeve to how the colors blend and work together.

Darren hires the best artists in the city to work at Rising Dragon. All of the artists in the shop are top notch, friendly and talented, creating the most interesting tats on people.

WIthout a doubt this is the only shop, I'd ever entrust something as wonderful and lifelong as a tattoo to be created at. The experience and expertise cannot be surpassed! .

Pros: Talented Artists, Clean and Professional Shop

.

I did years of searching for a tattoo artist who was a ""true"" artist and not just some idiot with a needle. The staff at Rising Dragon represent a group of real artists and true professionals. If your goal is to have some truly original work done that you will get non-stop compliments about, then look no further. If you want some cheesy stock photo out of a book then go to one of the grimey shops found all over NY and elsewhere.

About 18 months ago - I began working on full sleeves on both arms - in a tribal style. I worked with Darren Rosa - and have gotten an outstanding design, and really GREAT work. We discussed the things I liked - some images of designs.... and he came up with an outstanding design. The talent and professionalism of this shop is superb. \r

Pros: Best Tattoo artist I have visited

.

I've been going to Rising Dragon for 6 years; I've had my back, chest piece, and half-sleeve done by the owner Darren Rosa. I am stopped all over the world by people asking where I had my work done. Darrens work has been featured in tattoo magazine several times (for which my work was pictured). It is truly unique- not something you just pull off a tattoo shop wall. The artists spend time fleshing out ideas with their clients and customize the work to their desires. Its a collaborative relationship that results in a one of a kind product.

If you live in NY or are just visiting and have been thinking of getting a tattoo, this would be the spot to go (or their sister site Chelsea Tattoo Company).

Rising Dragon is the best tattoo shop in NYC! All of the artists are friendly and extremely talented. Darren, the owner, is my tattoo artist and this year at the NYC Tattoo Convention at Roseland, we won the award for best tattoo of the night. Darren created this slamming tiger that took everyone's breath away. He also designed my two sleeves, which I receive compliments on wherever I travel. My sleeves are Japanese inspired; dragons, buddahs, koi fish, pagodas, spirit masks, All I can say is that the sleeves are really wicked and tell a intricate and cohesive story! And the colors are so intense. Check out Rising Dragons website for pics of my sleeve. You will not regret coming here, for you'll leave with a truly unique tattoo piece that nobody else will ever have! I'm getting ready to have my chest and legs done next. Darren and his artists are the creme de creme of the big apple!

These folks also own Chelsea Tattoo, on 23rd street, which is where they used to be located. Darren, the owner, is the best artist in NYC, hands down. Check out his work on their site. \r

I highly recommend this place to first timers and veterans of tattoos. They have some of the best artists you'll ever find in the world working here.

Pros: AMAZING artists.

I came across Rising Dragon tattoo parlor in a search for a place to go to get a tattoo for my 18th birthday 5 months ago. It seemed pretty reputable, but I had to check the place out myself. The atmosphere was very inviting. The place is a lot bigger than it appears at first, with cubicles lined up, used by various artists and in the very back is the owner Darren's own office, where he tattoos. The portfolios were impressive, and the woman behind the main desk very endearing and helpful. I knew this was the place for me.

I was lucky enough to have Darren be the chosen artist, and he did a fabulous job. I was allowed to have one friend with me during the process. Darren was funny and incredibly nice, which helped to calm my nerves. The process felt quicker than it actually was. I paid $100 for my tattoo, which I think for the work he did and how lovely it came out, it was well worth it. You get what you pay for.

I recommended this place to a friend for her belly button piercing and she loved it as well. I will probably head back for a second tattoo the next time my birthday rolls around. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.

PROS: Wonderful employees, great atmosphere, highly professional work
CONS: None!
