As the old sayings go, "you live and you learn" or "there's a first time for everything" or my favorite that our moms used to say "if you have nothing good to say, then say nothing at all"... My review ends here.

I would just like to say that this place is McDonalds for vegetarians. They aren't very clear about it, but every single thing in the entire restaurant is made for vegetarians. (ie-all "burgers", "chicken nuggets", "tuna salad", etc) with the exception of the salads, everything has soy protein as a replacement for meat. Being a vegetarian I thought it was a great idea! The veggie was a bit bland. I've had better ones at BetterBurger, but in general the place is good. Most of the items contain all or partial organic items. They have a wide variety of vegetarian soups, and the salads and soy-milkshakes were great. If people dont realize that this place uses soy as a replacement for meat, yes I can see how you might not like the "Chicken" nuggets, because they aren't chicken?? I found it refreshing to find a place that offers typical fast food items but as a meatless version and with the same prices of mcdonalds. Yes, if you're looking for a gourmet fast meal, try Better Burger, but you're going to pay for it. If you're in the mood for fast food that you can actually eat opposed to getting just french fries at mcdonalds, its a great choice. They have a very friendly staff and the place was very clean.

Pros: Array of vegetarian options

Cons: Very bright decor makes you feel like your in a childrens gameroom

While I often turn to CitySearch for a little insight as to the advisability of this spot or that, I've never before
felt compelled to post a review. Then I experienced Zen Burger. I first consumed the veggie burger which resembled a Boca Burger, though looked even more like a formerly frozen pattie though far less inviting and was bland beyond words. The restaurant had no mustard, and mind you, the featured item here is their burger. An overly friendly waitress came over, and likely seeing the look of revulsion on my face as I munched on the veggie pattie, offered to clear my and my companion's trash. When she picked it up, she proceeded to spill the mystery french fry sauce all over my pants. I seized what I saw as a prime opportunity to request a menu item for free this being a new place and I having been so wronged. When I explained to the manager what happened and asked for free chicken tenders, he complied. After an exchange between him and an employee behind the counter that lasted about 2.5 mins and created an impression they were putting their heads together to solve some intractable problem, the nuggets were given me. I wish I hadn't thought to ask, b/c they made McDonalds' nuggets taste as though fit for the Gods. I know not what these contained, but little, if any, of the innards were chicken. An acquaintance recently mentioned a report that the rodent population in the city had declined substantially in the last couple months. My companion was miffed when she ordered green tea and got tea that was anything but. In short, stay away. The nauseatingly bright decor will serve to ensure you are acutely aware of the disgusting food you are putting inside you. If this place still exists on New Year's 2009, I promise to pack my bags and move to Fallujah and spare you, good people, any further reviews of mine.
